I left it and came back about 4 hrs later, so it was quite hard when I got back to it. All wont have the same dry time though, lots of factors that can change dry time.
Contrary to popular belief the moisture of the new concrete will definitely be absorbed by the existing concrete like a sponge, and slowly dissipate into the air. It may not pass underneath the existing concrete given the slab was prepared(moisture barrier) and poured correctly.
Too long lol, I usually press my finger firmly into the Concrete and if I feel it will hold I start removing boards, but you can remove alot of the screws before it's actually ready saving you time when finishing.
Yes, really nice job. How many bags did you use for the stairs? That’s not the first time I’ve heard to add a little cement to quikrete to help it get a little creamier… I made a little practice slab 2 years ago (to practice masonry work) I tried it out but didn’t have a specific amount to add. So I added about a 1 litre container to each bag, maybe a little more… Seemed to work just fine… I broke the slab out last fall and noticed that it seemed much harder…….. Much harder or maybe I’m just getting older… Anyway thanks for all the tips, I always seem to learn something from your videos… Thanks!
I used quickcrete, but it's really Rocky and doesn't dry as hard as I like, so I got a bag of Portland cement and added about half a quart to each bag of concrete. Makes a better finish too. Save a bit of powder to make some cream for filling holes.

How did they go from light gray to dark gray at the end, did you spray them with water or is that a sealer?
The Concrete was kicking fast so I mixed up some Portland cement powder and floated it into the surface.
