Not only do you do perfect work but your narration skills are second to none. If you ever quit concrete you can make a living at narration. Well done as usual. Great video.
yes you can learn A LOT from watching this channel and other youtube. (even tho old timers will say you can't learn from youtube, u can, haha) But just remember this, concrete is like no other trade you cannot just pull out your nails and move a stud to a different place when u make a mistake. You can't take a break and there are no do overs. Be sure to have A LOT of hands on practice before you take on any "finished" projects!!
"Hi, by watching this video you have agreed to our terms and conditions written in section 2 paragraph 22. According to our rules after watching our video you are only supposed to hire us to do your concrete from now on. Thank you."
The fact that you show and explain these videos, for me, really shows your integrity. A fine example of letting the work speak for itself. Much Respect, Many Thanks Mr. Odell and the team.
Hi David, that backyard is looking great, you and your crew are true artist of the trade, I hope you are keeping safe and well, best regards to you all.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete and as guy that doesn’t know jack sh** that has lived in the same place almost my whole life I am not qualified to tell you “looks pretty sweet”
I'm glad to see you guys pulling your steel UP. I like to use chairs But I've seen other TH-cam concrete men who aren't pulling their steel off the dirt, or Styrofoam They do nice work but leaving the steel on the bottom of the pour defeats having steel Nice work sir, keep pulling your steel
I love how the commentary is like watching a golf tournament on TV, but only 50 times more interesting. "Oh, looks like he's switched over to the horsehair, wasn't liking that nylon too much."
Hey, as someone with a background in landscape architecture and environmental design, why not plant the middle portion with a real drought resistant grass at least? The artificial grass is really atrocious.
for the steps, my Dad always taught me to bevel the riser form to allow to allow to finish the back, and the riser should be cut back by 1/4" from bottom of riser to top to prevent heel scraps. My Dad was a pro at concrete, I wish I knew how to do it now.....
@Dave Odell, you should do a video on dos and don'ts. For example when you should use dowels, expansion foam, rebar, fiber mesh and any other insider info that you can think of. Thanks for the great content as always.
Loving the camera angels! Looks awesome. But personally I myself couldn't do what you do, it's art. More than steelfixing. Wich is what I do! Viewer from Australia. Another great job
You should try attaching a go pro to the trowel, that would be cool. I hope I spelled trowel right, I don’t know anything about concrete, but I always watch these videos
What are the pro's and con's of putting some expansion material between the existing outside wall and the new stairs? I'm surprised you poured right up to the wall.

I love watching these videos, hopefully in the future I would've learned enough to do some concrete work at a future home.
I'm sure you will
I know what you mean, I actually did use some of his tips when doing some small concrete repairs with my son.

Hire a professional. You only get ONE shot at it. You screw it up and its that way for 100 years unless you jack hammer it out.
I agree. I love watching the videos. Keeps me watching for hours. Hopefully one day I can try my hand.
You'll be ready
Nice work. Concrete is backbreaking hard work. To do it NICE like these guys is a hard earned art.

Thank you David, adding music at 6:38 was just right and added to the enjoyment of watching the work!

I think it would be nice to shout out your employees from time to time. They seem like hard workers and know why they are doing.
Yes they do know what they're doing. When I see consistency in there effort I will shout it out.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete as a business owner myself I long for the “consistent” effort from my employees.
My new fascination is watching concrete . This is very interesting .
