Brian, my wife and I lost Sasha (our 16 year old miniature schnauzer) just a few months before you lost Sierra. I was not able to watch your videos for a couple of months back then just due to the grief, but you have become an extended member of the family. My wife and I are moving to Wyoming in the Spring. We love the Rockies and the backcountry. You represent a wander-lust that I have had since I was a teenager. I am 61 years old now. Keep the videos coming.
My boy Rocky has been gone coming up 12 years this February. Have his ashes and some of his toys in my bookcase. I miss him every single day. He was my everything. He could have passed for Sierras brother, identical twins. Love the videos. Hope you come across Sasquatch again soon. Keep safe… ~Calgary
Thank you, Brian, for sharing your story here. You are a big inspiration. I am 48 and my husband will be 50 next month. He lived in Colorado and I moved from Michigan in 2003 to go there, then we had to move to Michigan in 2006. We have been subscribed for quite awhile. I am still so amazed at your story, and how you overcame so much and the healing and life you are living. I never have had a drug/alcohol/etc issue, but I admit a struggle with emotional eating for my whole adult life. It damaged my health, but I am working on things and doing better than I was. Watching this today has helped me a lot personally with hope. We love what you do, the traveling, winter camping, your work on your land in Arizona. I wish you the very best with your channel and hope you keep getting tons of new subscribers. Sending Prayers and good thoughts your way. God bless you and Meadow.
Thanks for telling us the story. Good for you not taking the corporate shit. Your videos are the real deal. Enjoy watching. keep doing what you enjoy……What makes you happy…. Best wishes from Alberta Canada……
I think you were brave to make the move. It's one thing to want it. Another to think it's possible. But putting yourself out there and making it happen makes me really have huge respect for you two
Dang! Getting out from a benzo addiction is the worst! You are a bad ass! I went through a opiate addiction and it gave me huge respect for heroine addicts fighting the fight And you still got it! You're still funny!
Made this grown man cry when you were talking about your dog, I have a dog right now that i wish could live forever but unfortunately I know she can’t. I have a great family but there is still a special place in my heart for my dog, i will be lost when she is gone
Love all your videos, my dog Cruiser passed 3 years ago I will never stop missing him. I know how you feel to lose a buddy you raised from a pup. Have a great day
Been through that a number of times with really good dogs. And I have always gone back for more of the eventual pain. So many good dogs out there that need a good home though. And a dog completes a home.
It was so good to hear your backstory. Sierra was a beautiful dog and I enjoyed seeing her in your videos, whether playing or sleeping. Thanks for sharing your pain. Being real is what it's all about.
Brian, I had a dog 🐕 like that in my life who passed away after six years that I had her, and I felt like someone ripped my heart out. You'll be in my prayers man.
Awesome stuff Brian, thanks for putting yourself out there and sharing with us. For those of us who are envious corporate pawns we live vicariously through you. Thanks and keep on keeping on!
I don't comment a lot Brian but I still get choked up over Sierra. She was truly a godsend and she loved you dearly. The first videos of yours that I watched was your winter camping in Colorado...and the idea of putting a wood stove in my trailer was from your stove in your two room tent. So thank you for a better heating option than a Chinese diesel heater.
Thanks for sharing Bri! 💕 wow I cant believe that Dr. said that, what a B! Glad you came out the other side of that, no easy feat. Much love to you and Meadow and Sierra up in Doggie Heaven ❤ I hope this year for you goes great 👍
Brian, I use to camp and be out there all the time but the last few years I haven’t been able to. So finding channels like yours makes me happy. Thank you
Touching to see you moved so much by the thought of Sierra. I have a deep love for animals as well, and it is always very painful when they pass from this life. They are family. Hope everything is well with you.
Thank you for your back story. I met you , and Sierra in Buena Vista. If I saw sierra outside the coffee shop, I knew you were there, hanging with the coffee cluck there. I enjoyed talking with you, and that group. I was going through a divorce, and trying to get my life together. It was encouraging to me what you were doing. Thank you. I later found your TH-cam channel, and was happy to hear how things went going with you. I’m sorry for your loss, Sierra is missed. Such a sweetheart. Again thanks again.
Thumbs up to Elsa and Barron! Besides Bob Wells, they were one of the first nomad channels I ever followed. I really enjoy your content because I feel naturally connected to your presentation style, and because you're in northern Arizona. I'd love to leave Yuma and relocate somewhere around Williams. Thanks for keeping the dream alive.
It’s good to see your channel taking back off again: I’ve been getting notifications for every vid and they look like they’re doing well! Thanks for sharing your journey with us, man
Hey, I want to thank you for your wonderful videos. I saw this one today...and it really hit my heart....Brian: much respect to you for going cold turkey and clearing that stuff out of your system. My ex was heavily addicted to painkillers and a lot of other things...and that crap will kill you. I am glad you are better. Happy trails to you! I hope your adventures will always be good! And keep up the great work on your videos!
Gary from Nashville Tennessee I am so sorry for your loss people that don't have animals as family really need to try it out. The ask for nothing and give you so much in return for a treat or just a run off leash. Here's hoping your new family member brings you many days of joy I really think seara would want that for you . Plus when you give a shelter dog a second cans at life that's a GREAT THING.
Brian I have been following you since 2020 and I must admit that I am a huge fan. This video is (for me) in the top 5. Learned so many things about you that I didn’t know before. Gives me much more insight and respect to you.
Love your channel Brian. Thanks for sharing your story and all the adventures over the years with Sierra. She's missed by all of your long time followers. Continue doing what you do and we all look forward to your new adventures with Meadow.
It's a great time to do exactly what you are doing right now ! It's hard to fathom people holding down jobs in cities where rental prices are insanely high , so they are living out of their car/van/bus conversion . What a depressing way to have to make ends meet . At least you live out in the natural world , & have adapted well to diff. situations.
First video I watched was you getting stuck off camber on a dirt road somewhere up in Colorado and then your Big Foot story. Got me hooked. Happy New Year buddy. FInally snow and cold down here along the Front Range
I subbed after yesterday’s video. I don’t watch much, I’m just nursing an injury so I’m binging. I like the content. So sorry to hear about your pup. Take care.
For some reason i thought you were x military. I have had dogs my entire 76 yrs. There are a handful tear up still talking about. My horse Khethahe that I brought into the world and had for 21 years was one of the hardest loses. He was my soul mate. I have a love bug saint bernard that just turned 3. I named her Angel because she is just that.
My 35 acre ranch was outside of Florence, Co. Just sw of Canon City. How I miss it. Salida is so nice. I personally could not live in a tent in winter there so more power to you!
I was building those empty lots. 400 home tracts in 100 home phases. The future home owners would come by to look at the construction and yell at us. LOL. Some were nice though. Tim recently hung out with Searching For Sloane and then she rolled her truck.
Thanks for sharing your stories Brian! Have been following your adventures for a couple of years and wanted to thank you and Sierra for being my companions in very tough times in my life. So lucky to have come across your channel and community. I consider you my friend even if we’ve never met, but I have spent more time with you on TH-cam than many of my friends and family. Looking forward to a great year! Cheers my friend
Hey man, been watching your channel for a while. Really enjoyed your candid story. Puts so much in context now watching your journey. Thanks for sharing. I know personal stuff is not your thing.
I can't remember when I started watching you but it has been years of enjoyment. I was amazed at how you lived in a tent in colorado. I live in Colorado and just couldn't believe how someone could survive. You showed the way and it's not as complex as I thought but still challenging. I would love to do what you do. Maybe in the future. Since I'm not doing it, watching you helps fill the void. For anyone who is homebound you are a godsend. People get to go on trips and see amazing places without leaving home. I also love the campsites and scenery. Thank you so much! I look forward to watching you for years to come! I know your heart is heavy missing Sierra but she is always with you! Her spirit lives on! Just talk to her daily to relieve your sadness.
I miss her a lot also and still tear up when you get emotional about her. She was like the dog I wish I had. I've been following you for at least five years now. Hope to meet you one day and try to find a tiny shelter I built on San Francisco Peaks at about 9,000 feet on the west side. I learned so much from you. I'm set-up pretty good now!!!! You are appreciated.
Man, I was prescribed three 1mg klonopins a day. I mostly only ever took 1 a day because 3 is way too much. Then they just stopped working entirely so I quit taking them. Didn’t realize you’re not supposed to. Went through almost a year of living hell, including ~6 months of seizures which I never had before. Took a week or two to realize why, but I never looked back even though I had hundreds sitting there and could temporarily stop the nightmare. I’d rather take any other substance than ever take another benzodiazepine. The fact that they’re schedule IV instead of II and handed out so easily blows my mind. Substances that work on GABA receptors are the only ones that can kill you if you quit taking them. Glad you overcame it, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone:
Happy New Year Brian. I wish you an easy year. I know that it is closing in on a year since you lost Sierra, so I am hoping that this upcoming year will be one of acceptance and no regrets...
Thanks for posting this. It's always Interesting to hear the back story. And yours is a good one. I saw you on one of Tim's videos. That was cool. I like the Hiking Guy too. Side note, I too got addicted to benzos. That lasted over 20 years. It was the only way I knew how to deal with the stress (anxiety) of corporate life. Not easy to get off. You saved your own life. Which of course is really the only way. Safe travels.
I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your channel. I started watching you because of Sierra. I’m so heartbroken for you. I loved that little dog. I’m truly sorry for your loss and it is a huge one I wish I had the guts to do what you’re doing. I went out of the matrix so bad.
I've been watching you're channel since 2018 .. I've got off benzos myself and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy .. I'm super glad that you found your way home living off grid !! Hopefully my health turns for the better and I can do the same ✌️ and ❤️ from NC
I'm surprised how much I like seeing the fish and the ruins. Animals in my life have been important, I remember thinking i could not love one this much again it hurts to much to say goodbye. Then I think about I would have missed out on.
Been watching the channel for awhile under my reg name. Glad you are doing what you enjoy and have been able to make a life out of it. If you are ever in Central NM reach out!
I'm glad you do what you do. I'm also glad I found Colorado offgrid channel from you. Jerry and Kevin have become friends and I have even went out to their cabin and hung out with them. I'd like to be able to hang out with you too sometime and explore some new places

Jordan Peterson was addicted Benzo's He kicked it with meditation practice... was the most challenging thing he beat. Good for you by the way. Great stories.
I've been following you for several years. You just do interesting stuff. Had a crappy experience in the corporate world. TH-cam does a crappy job and does not let me known when my subscribed channels have a new video. So, I have to hunt to see if I'm not occupied with other ones that pop-up. Sorry about that. I try not to miss your new videos. The Sierra Tears will not fade fast. Praying for less pain.
I started watching you because Amanda from tidellinetoalpine mentioned you were as devoted to Sierra as she is to Frank. I've been a fan ever since. They say, and it's true, that you can tell the character of a person by the way they treat animals. You're a good one. Congrats on escaping corporate America. I did too. Would have put me in an early grave.
Brian I can't even picture you in the corporate world. You seem to calm and relaxed to want to put up with all the bureaucratic red tape. Glad you made it out...
Working under Corporations, and Corporations owned by hedge funds who are so sterile that morale is completely gone is nothing more than existing for a pay check. They are terrible places to work, good video.
Funny, you mentioned not paying vendors on time. I worked for a company that delayed paying vendors until they absolutely had to, and the vendors knew this, and charged us accordingly. It was a dumb move, pissed off vendors and built a somewhat hostile relationship.
What do you guys who live in vans and off grid and so forth do for health insurance? It’s extremely expensive and seemingly a big portion of your available budget.
I find it funny that a lot of people think only ”druggies without education” chose this lifestyle. Matter fact, a very close friend of mine in S.F lives like Brian balancing all stress working in a tech company making a 25k+ salary monthly. That and because he loves nature and fishing.
Enjoy your real life. Thanks for all the background of your life. Keep going. Your story can be an inspiration to many
Your winter tent camping is why I subscribed.
Brian, my wife and I lost Sasha (our 16 year old miniature schnauzer) just a few months before you lost Sierra. Where in Wyoming? I have been up in Montana this week looking at a few places. I to am 61. Presently in southern UT.
Started in the plumbing industry at 21, semi retired plumbing expert at 51 now. Life's been good. Now living off-grid in Northern AZ🤠👍
Brian, a lot of us still in the corporate world come home and decompress with a beer and hoping you posted a new video. Love from Pittsburgh.
AKA, step 2
What everyone loves is genuine people, like you.
Yes!! Exactly!
exactly
Loved to hear your story, so brave to just pack up and live free, you are definitely living your own life
Hey Brian, it always makes me smile when your videos pop up. Glad to see you're still living the dream for all us still in the corporate world!
My boy Rocky has been gone coming up 12 years this February. Have his ashes and some of his toys in my bookcase. I miss him every single day. He was my everything. He could have passed for Sierras brother, identical twins. Love the videos. Hope you come across Sasquatch again soon. Keep safe…

Losing a good dog is always difficult. Even a year or more later, you come in an expect them to be there to greet you. My sincere condolences.

Ahhhh the story of the OG back country adventurer 👍👍👍
21:15 full respect 🙏 Brian 🤜🤛
Sierra ❤
You’re a great story teller Brian, really enjoyed listening to your origin story ❤
Great story of why you decide to do what you're currently enjoying. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your story
Love your content. Thanks for sharing your story and keep up the great work!
What a journey you have had glad to see you are where you are happy living life your way
Thank you for sharing your journey. You were so sick with that parasite but you overcame it. Love your authenticity Brian!
Thanks for sharing. Seems like you made the right choice for you!!
Sierra will always be a part of you, no matter what.
Take care and stay safe! 🙏😊
I’ve only ever done one job starting 16 as a plasterer still doing at 55 love to. Do what you do and live great life 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧👍🇺🇸
That's awesome man!

Happy New Year Brian. I wish you an easy year. I know that it is closing in on a year since you lost Sierra, so I am hoping that this upcoming year will be one of acceptance and no regrets...
Thanks for the story Brian!
Good story! Enjoying your channel. I use to camp all the time but I am 63 and dealing with health issues so I can still camp with you!🤣💜💜💜
I'm with you Jack!
I wish I had the guts to do what you’re doing. I went out of the matrix so bad.
Wow, that was abrupt! I looked away but still was listening and you were done! Anyway love your videos.
You can always teach when you get too old to be on the road as much. You’d be a great teacher!
Appreciate you being so open and vulnerable, ignore the stupid people commenting.
Keep doing you mate
Love these types of lifestyle videos. Keep on truckin'.
✨✨YES !! luv , luv , luv luv , this ✨✨ thQ .. happy NYr.. ~peace~🕊
Tou come a long way. I subbed to you when you called your channel Colorado backcountry adventures.
I forward your videos to all my outdoor enthusiasts friends that I know.
Been watching the channel for awhile under my reg name. Glad you are doing what you enjoy and have been able to make a life out of it. If you are ever in Central NM reach out!
you've inspired me to start winter camping. slowly of course😅
We are all just HUMAN, after all, it takes the best and strongest of us to admit that! Once it is clear, the correct path will become highly visible.
I'm glad you do what you do. I'm also glad I found Colorado offgrid channel from you. Jerry and Kevin have become friends and I have even went out to their cabin and hung out with them. I'd like to be able to hang out with you too sometime and explore some new places
Hello Bria and meadow ❤😊
New subscriber here .....
The title of this video caught my interest . Much respect man !

Wonderful Story So Happy For You
It's Actually A Great Story that Helps Many of Us Out Here😊
Thank You For Spilling Your Guts 😊❤
Joe Rogan How Awesome 👍😎

Help your broken heart 🙏 It was very Painful to watch Sierra Go My Most fearful thing is to lose a Fur baby ❤
Jordan Peterson was addicted Benzo's He kicked it with meditation practice... was the most challenging thing he beat. Good for you by the way. Great stories.
I've been following you for several years. You just do interesting stuff. Had a crappy experience in the corporate world.
Props to you. I have been there, addicted to prescription pills also. I know what you went through.
Love this. Sending love from Sedona x
We all have different dreams but your life sir, is close to my dream life.
I used to live at 33rd and Blake way back in the day! It's much different now.
Brian I can't even picture you in the corporate world. You seem to calm and relaxed to want to put up with all the bureaucratic red tape. Glad you made it out...

Funny, you mentioned not paying vendors on time. I worked for a company that delayed paying vendors until they absolutely had to, and the vendors knew this, and charged us accordingly. It was a dumb move, pissed off vendors and built a somewhat hostile relationship.
Thanks
It sounds like you hired the famous New York lawyer Joseph Pesci.
Elsa and Barron is where I knew you from!

What do you guys who live in vans and off grid and so forth do for health insurance? It’s extremely expensive and seemingly a big portion of your available budget.
Do you worry about your property in AZ when you are on the road? That would be my biggest concern about off grid living.
I find it funny that a lot of people think only ”druggies without education” chose this lifestyle.
Matter fact, a very close friend of mine in S.F lives like Brian balancing all stress working in a tech company making a 25k+ salary monthly. That and because he loves nature and fishing.
