Cinema shows were not really part of the Victorian age, 😊 but musically as English as Fish and chips. The englishness was What I loved by Genesis. Pity They lost that.

Several times I had the chance to watch The Musical Box playing the Cinema Show live. It's always one of the absolut highlights of the Foxtrot and the Selling England tour....In the middle part they turn down the lights completely and then this huge mirror ball comes in and everybody just goes "Wow...." you know.... and then something happened I never realised before, when that final instrumental part starts, "Steve Hackett" leaves the stage and there you are, the 3 People Genesis alone do this brilliant final instrumental part which blows you away. I have the 74 Rainbow Live Genesis show in 5.1, simply mind-blowing
Can't be compared to the original with Genesis, seen both bands performing this and although The Musical Box are very accurate instrumentally the atmosphere just cannot be reproduced. Steve's band however do the piece justice the only let down is Phil's incomparable Drumming.

@@vitavomloehberg Brilliant you can't go wrong with Steve's revisited shows, i'm about to listen/watch the live at Hammersmith DVD which is a favourite, it's all Genesis and is just short of 3 fantastic hours. I love the Liverpool show too mainly for the inclusion of Cinema Show and Can Utility And The Coastliners.

I was also under the impression that the acoustic 12 is tuned like Victor listed except the 6th and 5th string are tuned to D and G in normal octaves. MR switched his Electric Ricks so the octave is the second of the octave strings.Tony’s awesome ARP Pro-Soloist sound run-through solo, MR uses his 12/4 Rick with Rick 12 in regular tuning. So, at least MRs 12 is ee bb Ge Da Gg Dd I think the 5th is a G because it sort of bangs and keeps ringing. Love to know any other crazy MR tunings like Fly on a Windshield and Your Own Special Way. Squonk is Drop D? Ripples?
Genesis lost a step when they allowed Steve to walk. All it would've taken was to allow him a few more song credits on their albums and to do some solo stuff - as they all eventually did anyway (looking at you Mr. "Mike and the Mechanics").
Nice performance. I have read interviews with Mike Rutherford where he says that, for the acoustic 12 string in the 1st half of Cinema Show, one of the upper pairs of strings was tuned to an interval instead of to unison. Have you used this method here?
Si ma da quello che ho sentito, questo pezzo andrebbe suonato con una accordatura diversa, per quanto detto da mike rutherford .accordatura che pero' , non si ricorda neanche lui😃 sua dichiarazione. Pertanto,se il risultato in srandard e' questo, hai fatto veramente un bel lavoro.

Claudio le posizioni della mano sinistra sono visibili nel video, la chitarra è accordata normale, con la destra devi sempre pizzicare il La e il Re contemporaneamente all'inizio di ogni battuta poi fare attenzione perché in molti casi la nota più acuta è data da un cantino. Prova prima le posizioni della sinistra poi se non riesci posso provare a scriverti la sequenza della mano destra.
