It’s odd to see Ravage packed in with Grindor. I think the paint could’ve been done better for Ravage, but it’s nice to see them continuing to flesh out the rosters for the films. Grindor isn’t too bad a figure, and he completes the lineup to recreate one of the greatest scenes I ever saw as a kid in the theater. Maybe there’ll be an upgrade kit or something where Prime can get his hooks and there could be an option to give Grindor a “splitting” headache, eh?
The fact that Grindor’s description on the box is that fighting prime turned out to be a headache cuz prime split his head in half is golden Like his one defining scene was his headsplitting so that’s what they put on the box

As someone who unfortunately passed on Blackout, I definitely will get this guy! And it wasn’t adult PVP that made me want this figure, it was PVP being a kid.
I believe the "rust" detailing is actually meant to be dirt and earth on Grindor, as in the forest fight they were ripping out trees and kicking up dirt. And a fun fact, Grindor's vehicle mode, the CH-53 has 7 rotor blades but his CG model, and as a result the toy, only have 6 due to just being Blackout.

I had SS Blackout.. looked impressive in bot and helicopter mode.. until the rotor hub connections for the blades started getting bad stress marks after just two days and two transformations.. I had to return it for a replacement, bit had to settle for a refund as the other they had on shelf had sold
Beautiful figure, beautiful engineering. I have no idea how the presenter can convert Grindor so quickly. With the instructions, it took me around 45 minutes or so, of course being careful not to break anything, although the construction is strong enough where you don’t really have to worry. I couldn’t have wasted more time trying to figure out where to rotate the legs on my own to close the tail section, that was probably the worst part. This is actually why I came looking for the video. Also the engine cover on the roof doesn’t exactly hold together as well as I had hoped.
For those complaining about the height difference, if he hasnt offered this option in the video (only 6:29 mins in) compress both blackout and grindors legs fully. Then extend blackouts by 1 or 2 clicks, depending on preference, then extend grindors 3-4 clicks. When side by side, the height difference will be noticable
I believe the main difference between Blackout and Grindor is, that Grindor is supposed to be taller. But I guess if you extend Grindors legs more than Blackouts you could make that work.
@@patrickb.5820 Probably because I'm considering the engine block and rotor backpack he has which sits higher than his head, but yeah without it he's like low 40s or high 30s feet tall, which is still considerably taller than Blackout. Also I'm rewatching the forest battle and it still looks like Prime still only comes up to about Grindor's waist/abdomen.

Nah, he got off easy. Look at Fallen, dude got his face torn off, and then Prime punched his heart straight out of his chest, and trashtalked him as he crushed it in his fist.
This is an awesome figure, I missed out on the original blackout release and now anytime I try to find him he’s like $184.37 and because grindor is new he’ll be the default leader class price(hopefully). So this will be my chance to get a version of him.

This guy is perfect, Grindor was always my favorite decepticon and they didn’t just make a figure of him they improved upon the blackout design to make Grindor even better and now the forest battle can be complete. My only complaint is the clunky weapon with the tail propeller I think they could’ve made that better, Also I think it’s funny how his box description is just how he died
I’m so glad the transformers studio series revenge of the fallen griendor is about to come out in store’s in December 2021 in winter ❄️ before Christmas 🎅 so I can’t wait for it in leader class with mine ravege

Scavenger already broke that philosophy too, hell the Constructicons are pretty wonky when scaling with each other. Long Haul’s meant to be the tallest non-Scavenger constructicon, 7 feet taller than Rampage, but SS Long Haul is shorter than SS Rampage.

I feel like this looks better than original SS Blackout. Also I bet 86 long haul won't look accurate compare to the superior SS movie long haul which looks more accurate to his source material and show bayverse is better than g1 movie

PVP’s sound effects game is Second to None. You can tell he’s actually having fun with this figure which is really what it’s all about. Love the videos man.
You know what bugs me the most right now? I've had Blackout for a year and I more or less nailed the transformation, but I just now got Grindor and I'm having trouble with top part behind his head and bugging me a lot. Merry Xmas.
They need to do another awsome combiner like devastator and give us a 12 knight combiner dragonstorm. That would be super sweet.......hard to do......but sweet......here's hoping 🤷♂️
I know this might be a year later but I made a custom ravage where I got two grindors that were on sale for only $30 dollars for both so I got one of the ravages cut his head off, I then drilled a hole and make a custom spinal cord with a little metal wire to use as the whip that bumblebee used to hit ravage and got one of the grindors and made a custom head being torn apart for either stop motion or diorama and it look pretty good. I made it where it could click together so I can take it apart and connect it together with ease. You should try what I did if you would like for a cool display with the rotf premium finish optimus prime.
we need a new PVP series [ Transformers sound effects: 'insert transformer name' ] we could even do collabs and stuff cuz that grindor sound effect when he was landing and then running was spot on, the same goes for ejecting ravage, they both deserve their own video
I think Grindor IS actually Blackout resurrrected. Hear me out. When the Decepticons dropped down there to revive Megatron there were 5 signals. Then they killed one of them and revived Megatron. Should still be 5. I always thought it was Ravage but he is too small. When they came up with Megatron it was 6 signals. And we know Megatron and Blackout were thrown in the sea around the same spot. Thats why Grindor has all that rust on him. He was under the sea for 2 years :)) That was Blackout resurrected.

I am so grateful for this release. We never got the SS Blackout, so I genuinely screamed and gasped so much when I saw this guy in stores. This was the first time new transformers have hit our stores in 2 years!!!
I was there from the beginning of SS, but I never got Blackout, exactly because of the hands and I will get Grindor, exactly because he fixes that and I also prefer the gun metal parts over that grey, cheap looking plastic. Anyways, enough rambling- If you never got Blackout, just get Grindor, because he's an improvement over Blackout in nearly every aspect! He's literally Blackout with a better paintjob and posable hands. Kinda disappointed they didn't go the extra step and make the helicopter mode look like the CH-53E he was in the movies.
My understanding of Blackout and Grindor are that each are a different variation of the Sikorsky C-53 helicopter. Blackout is the MH-53 Pave Low (used by the USAF) while Grindor is a CH-53, used by the USMC and USN.
Fr tho glad they made this figure and Ravage. Commited to making a Transformers the Ride stopmotion with Studio Series Figures, so for me this one is a must get.
I wish they added some more paint on the JAGUAR (feline not canine) cause ravage just looks plain. Like I wish they added a few more silver highlights and prehaps a tiny bit of dry brushing, but as an accessory it’s quite a good sculpt

Grindor's roughly twice as tall as Optimus (28 ft) so he's like 50 or so ft compared to Blackout's 33.

Grindor’s vehicle mode is supposed to be the CH-53E Stallion instead of BlackOut’s MH-53 Pavelow. Still a cool helicopter and figure tho.

Dude.... We need more clips of you being a child again. They remind me that I do that. And when every kid did that, when their parents walking in, they would see the kid making noises, but we see a cybertronian war, with high steaks. Once you make enough, make a compilation for it. Great Review!

People must understand that sometimes repaints are an oportunity for other people to get said mold. Maybe with some upgrades
Even though I have the Blackout figure, I'm still getting this because A: For collection and B: because he looks so good
He's literally Blackout with a better paintjob and posable hands. Kinda disappointed they didn't go the extra step and make the helicopter mode look like the CH-53E he was in the movies.
Yeah it is a bit of a bummer but tbh we barely see it in the movie any way so probably wasn’t worth their while

Is it just me or does Grindor's detachable rotor blade look longer than Blackout's in vehicle mode?
My understanding of Blackout and Grindor are that each are a different variation of the Sikorsky C-53 helicopter. Blackout is the MH-53 Pave Low (used by the USAF) while Grindor is a CH-53, used by the USMC and USN.
Fr tho glad they made this figure and Ravage. Commited to making a Transformers the Ride stopmotion with Studio Series Figures, so for me this one is a must get.

Glad they improved on grindor over black out...I missed out on blackout. I wasn't a fan of most Michael bay transformers but I do like certain designs

I wish they added some more paint on the JAGUAR (feline not canine) cause ravage just looks plain. Like I wish they added a few more silver highlights and prehaps a tiny bit of dry brushing, but as an accessory it’s quite a good sculpt

Fun fact: This guy is actually a Legends scaled Grindor. Yep.. He should be a bit more than double the height of Optimus Prime, so it fits.
