Blackout was more badass than Megatron in this film, he was like an assassin who followed no one but himself. He just appears out of nowhere.

For the people not paying attention, Grindor who is Blackout’s brother, is the decepticon in the second movie that gets his face torn apart

Am I the only one who actually liked the transformers designs in these movies? especially the first 3. They look practical and real, then take small inspiration from G1. It's not a bad look. I absolutely love the design of Blackout and Barricade, so menacing and badass.
You're not alone. In fact, alot of us actually appreciate this realistic take on the Transformers. Gotta give MB credit this unique style, including the CGI which is outstanding throughout the series especially the iconic Forest Battle in ROTF.
Sure it intially divided fans but overtime it grew on us and many others became bigger fans. But it's not absolutely every fan's cup of tea, it's a love it or hate it thing.
I didn't liked them here.But loved the ones in the Bumblebee movie. They were outstanding.
Still Blackout was cool.
I only liked the designs from the first film. Because the decepticons were as distinct has the Autobots. After that, they kinda became samey. Brawl and Jazz were my favorite.

The first movie had the best designs straight up. Autobot and Decepticons. The sequels had some good ones but many of them looked the same and were just re used Cgi models.
for those wondering, Blackout didn't die because of the shot to the crotch, he was also hit by missiles head on, they just emphasized the hit to the crotch because they wanted to make it seem like the soldier was the one to shoot him dead as he's one of the main characters
The first salvo of missiles blown up his armor. The shot to the crotch blew up his organs located in the abdomen, the second salvo of missiles brought the fatal hit.
He got shot in his robo balls. Why else did he die?
I think one missile must have hit him in the head. A lucky strike like that would take him out I believe.
What if the Robot fell on the soldier?
But Blackout was alive in TF2...
This was a cool moment for transformers, they looked more like robots than some of the last 2 film..

The dinosaur scene was awesome af. Honestly it might be my fave out of all of em (it’s a toss up between the first one and extinction). And the last knight also really sucked. Don’t remember much about that one either (by far the worst of all).

I do have to admit, despite all of the flaws in these movies I will always appreciate the fact that humanity isn’t as passive as they were in some of the cartoons, they fought back along with the Autobots and actually managed to kill a few Decepticons

Back when the 'Cons were an actual threat to even the Autobots, the humans and bots had to have numbers and teamwork just to take down even one. Even Optimus had a hard time going toe-to-toe with Megatron alone

But then in Transformers 3 he killed Megatron with one arm...
What about when Optimus takes on 3 deceptions and gets stabbed in the back by megatron in the Forrest? Didn’t look like he needed help then its just all to make the movie more “dramatic”

I always like to think to myself that blackout was the real terrifying decepticon in this film yea megatron was the leader yea the others looked cool but everytime blackout came around the soldiers got frightened because they knew he could potentially be the strongest one, notice when lennox and his team were fighting brawl and he saw blackout land on top of the building he just states that they are so dead, and when blackout came outta nowhere they were scared to be seen by him

Blackout was one of the greatest warriors on the decepticon files, it took a really well coordinated attack to bring him down and he fought with no fear and with no help, on his personal side he also cared about his pet and friend, he had a loyal and at the same time kind spark, and from all the decepticon deaths i think this is one of the better ways to go, almost instantaneous with no suffering, rest in peace great soldier, you've earned it
It’s always weird to think, that he destroyed a whole millitary base without any ease, now he barely can kill a pack of soldiers, meanwhile he has the weapon that destroyed the whole camp in quatar (even the sound of the weapon is similar).
He's in a large city, shooting the large blasts that destroyed the city could very well topple over buildings that may injure Megatron or bury the Cube. Also, when he's going in to kill Optimus, he switches his gun to small blasts so he can kill Optimus without killing Megatron.

I think Lennox just wanted to be part of the killing shots because he hated Blackout more than any other Decepticon. Think about it: he destroid his base, killed many comrades and friends and prevented him to reach his family. He knew that the attack in the crotch wasn't enough to kill him, but the feeling of revenge was stronger.
He actually did defeat Blackout. 0:32 "Aim low, armor's weak under the chest". So the fighter jets missed and shot above the chest, but the soldier knew what he was doing by going under the chest. It wasn't so much a crazy kamikaze move.
Exactly, the jets did a good job of knocking Blackout back so his weak points were exposed and lennox could finish the job
also in the middle of the heart or spark since there is a direct hit and a critical hit because 98% of that was armor like in brawl
You can literally see the missiles punching through Blackout's chest, his rotors going haywire during the barrage, and energon literally flowing out freely from the impact zones. Lennox, for all his baddassery, DID NOT bring him down, the Jet's did.
@@UncleAsmos2005 I'd say it was a mix of both. The missiles and grenade launcher all did damage to critical systems which caused Blackout to die before he hit the ground. If it was just Lennox's shots or the missiles alone, Blackout might have survived long enough to cause major casualties to the human squad, or unload his ranged weapons into Optimus. I mean, if the soldiers weren't distracting Blackout, there was also a good chance he could have shot the jets out of the air or intercepted the missiles with gunfire. His takedown was the sum total of all their attacks, and it wasn't just caused by one of them.
I mean its a jet missile vs a grenade launcher. The missile is at least 30 times more powerful.

Al Liu more like when Decepticons were an actual threat and weren’t dispensable pieces of tin. in this film there were 6, in subsequent films there were armies of over 100. and in this film, prime gets his ass kicked and everyone else is incapacitated (except jazz of course), and that was 6 Decepticons (well actually 4 since bonecrusher was killed before the battle and barricade ran off) and guess what? only one of them was killed by a transformer (brawl). blackout was killed by the military and megatron was killed by fucking Sam. second film rolls along and there we have autobots kicking ass without injuries, even though they’re outnumbered by about 200 times. Jesus Christ even bumblebee kills rampage without help.
Travis Knight G1 was the original transformers though... Bayformers was hella trash. 🤷🏾♂️

For people wondering, blackout was not shot in the crotch. They said the armor was weak UNDER THE CHEST, meaning blackout had a weakpoint in his chest armor. There is a small gap between his chest and armor placement. You can see it if you pause right before Josh Duhamel fires. He fired a grenade directly at blackouts armor gap and it hit his heart, delivering a one shot fatal blow. The missles were to stun him so Josh could get a clear shot
You literally see the missiles punching through Blackout on the first, second and THIRD impact before he hits the ground, his main rotor getting all sorts of fucked up, and even see Energon spewing out of the impact zones. Lennox, as much of a badass he was, didn't land a killing blow, he just helped in Blackout's destruction with a somewhat good shot to a underprotected area.

I still remember when this movie came out on my birthday my dad surprised me with so many transformers toys like he had when he was a kid and when we went to watch these movies and he took me and my sister to watch this one and this is still one of my favorite scenes and still my favorite memory with my dad may he rest in paradise

Believe it or not but watching the Transformers 2007 and Iron man 2008 inspired me to grow up and be an engineer. I deviated from robotics and moved into software development but this movies had a legitimate impact on my love for robots and my personal career.

When he first appeared at the military base the humans had never seen a transformer and didn't know anything about them and didn't know how to kill it. In the final fight they had seen heaps more transformers and would've had a better understanding of how to kill them.

Blackout is literally the only Decepticon I liked in this franchise. I liked his design and his character. Soundwave is one of my favourite all time Decepticons and Blackout was originally going to Soundwave and when you look at the way he does stuff it makes sense. Using concussive blasts, ejecting a minion, going on a mission to steal intel etc. Pure Soundwave.
2007 was a great year. 2008 was my first time in Vegas, and for CES. Saw the instant the industry went from HD DVD for BluRay. Dreamworks was all in HD DVD with a lifesize Bumble Bee display. Then it was announced and their giant booth was a ghosttown all in minutes. Also my first time in a strip club not involving a bachelor party and dealing with salesmen with expense accounts and me being a customer at that level. It was a fun time and spoiled me.

to hell with bay's design especially in the later movies, but i'll say that the tf 1 decepticon designs of brawl, bonecrusher, and blackout are among my favorite designs in any transformers versions, continuity, timeline, or universe.
Blackout will always be my favourite movie Transformer because he had the best dramatic entrances in the few scenes he's in. His ambush on the military base kicked off the style of transformation we're going to see throughout the franchise and the one in the video above is just cool. He even had to turn around a bit to safely tuck his rotors in place.
I'm watching Age of Extinction right now and I just can't help but notice how much BETTER the CGI in this movie is animated (despite being 7 years older).

Well it's kinda true, unlike Grinder from the second movie Blackout with the help of Megatron probably could have kicked Prime's ass even more. Blackout was a tough sonuvabitch, but just not tough enough to withstand being hit in the balls by a grenade launcher while at the same time getting hit by f22 missiles.
