Definitely appreciate the brutally honest reviews and the concise synopsis for each of the books you’ve read! Absolutely amazing content ✨
So so happy you’re enjoying!!!
Girl you’ve been going hard with the books! Excited to see what the count is by the end of the year! Definitely will be adding some of these to my list of books to read 👀
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg you have to continue the cruel prince series. It only gets better and better!!
Okay!!! I will!
I don‘t know if you use book tracking apps, but I highly recommend story graph, even if you only use the free version you get loads of statistics and graphs around your reading habits/moods etc
I do have it!!! I need to learn how to use it though lol
I LOVE STORYGRAPH and I don’t see enough people talking about this black woman owned app
@@kayles5457I also like it a lot and seriously think that more people should switch over to StoryGraph from goodreads. It is a lot better
Pay attention you peasants, Harriet is back!!! 😤
I’m definitley going to hunt for these books on my Kindle app, thank you Harriet 💙
Yayyy I hope you enjoy!!!
So excited for this video!!!
Hope u enjoy!!!
I’m loving the book content so much Harriet! I love how honest you are in your reviews too, I’ve fallen victim to so many overhyped book reviews that your takes are always so refreshing 🥰
Thank you kate this makes me so happy to hear!!
love this video, literally taking notes for my tbr & wishlist 📝✨
Omg yay!!!!
I think you’re so brave for shifting gears with your content and I really love your book content because I do TH-cam as well and love books and have tried incorporating it more into my channel but it’s kinda hard lol
Hahaha it’s soo hard, thank you for this though! We just gotta follow our gut ❤️❤️
I’ve been reading more this year too and you’re keeping me inspired to continue reading so thank you ❤
This is the best!!!
I'm so excited you're posting book videos now! I love both fashion and books, so your channel is perfect. I love your videos.
YAY!!!
I Love the way you articulate your thoughts 🥰I trusted your recs immediately, new subscriber!
Yayyy!! So happy to have you here!
I love love LOVE your new reading-vlog/review type of videos - I just started reading again, as a way to stop using social media and watching your videos make me want to read romance novels (Emily Henry’s specifically!!) 🥰 thank you for this video and I am really looking forward to watch next week’s video !
You should read Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami and Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter - two complete different types of books , both left me speechless
Ooooh yay I’ll add to my TBR!!!
I picked up Beartown because of your last video talking about it and I'm 300 pages in - it will be the first fiction novel I have finished since high school (High school made me hate reading), so thank you for that! The book is amazing. Definitely a tough read, but as someone who is from a small rural Australian town, it actually hits pretty hard for me - especially since we also have the divide in wealth based on where you live (certain area of our town would be considered "The Hollows" for instance).
Oh my goodness I’m so happy you are enjoying to the book! So sad it’s relatable for you but such an important read!!
got my tbr at the ready for some good book recs!!!
YAYYYY
A Court of Silver Flames was so good. Can't wait for your review
I’m struggling to get through it but I need to push through!!!
Coincidentally, The Golden Couple was also the first book I read this year, too. And I agree with your assessment. It was a good read, but nothing special. And, I thought, despite the twists, sort of predictable.
Yes totally!!
Wow amazing girl ! I love reading to about 2 books a week ! Found your channel,l love it 🤗Take care 🤩
Yayyyy
As you enjoyed Before You Knew My Name you might also like Bright Young Women. It fictionalises the events and lives of several women who were impacted by a well-known American serial killer. The book never mentions the killer's name and instead focuses on the women, to counteract society's tendency to glorify serial killers and forget the victims. It was a tough read (triggers should be checked) but incredibly interesting and poignant.
Wow this sounds right up my alley!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Addie La Rue is one of my all time faves!! I definitely have to pick up The Cruel Prince and Before The Coffee Gets Cold
I read Addie Larue based on your original recommendation and loved it! I'll have to check out a few more of your favourites.
My fav trilogy this year was the Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee (Jade City, Jade War, Jade Legacy). Phantasy/SciFi. The world building is incredible, and the characters were great, genuine heartbreaking moments and lots of action. I was genuinely sad when I finished it.
Ohhhh amazing I’ll look into this!!!
We have similar book tastes! Some book recs: Remarkably bright creatures and the Nightingale - two of my absolute favorite books I read this year
The nightingale is on my TBR cart! Cant wait to get to it!!
Great video! We may have similar book taste so I would recommend “Remarkably Bright Creatures” and “The Stationary Shop”.
I’ve seen remarkably bright creatures everywhere! I’ll add both to my TBR!
I watched your reading vlog and got Beartown and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine the next day (Harriet’s officially a bookfluencer!). Absolutely loved Beartown - The characters were just so real and believable and I loved the simple, funny, sensitive writing style. Please let us know what Us Against Them is like. Also I just started Eleanor Oliphant and love it already 🥹 thanks for sharing all your recommendations and helping me get back into reading!
I’m so so happy you’re liking the recs!!! Two amazing books!
Oh, babe, I just realized I didn't tell you! If you like competition stories, you might like the duology All of Us Villains and All of Our Demise. They're not perfect or anything, I gave them 4⭐ but I really enjoyed the magic system and the competition and one thing at the end really surprised me 😊
Omg thank you for the rec!!!
@@scrivspo just as a warning, they are YA but I feel like most competition fantasy dystopian novels are so 🤷🏼♀️
I loooooved the seven year slip - if you haven’t read it yet I’d highly recommend her other book the Dead Romantics. So so good
I haven’t read dead romantics but I’m excited to!!
if you like fantasy i would absolutely recommend Sister of the Stars from Marah Woolf, it’s not that popular i think but it has this cool witchy vibe, it’s happening in england, there are references to king’s arthur legends, it’s just great!!!
Omg amazing!!!! I’ll add to my TBR
You described Red Rising so perfectly.
It’s so so good
Have you read Dear Mrs. Bird yet? I think you might like it. It's an easy and light read and the stories are cute and funny, but also very touching and heartbreaking at times. The audio book was very engaging and well done! There are 3 books in the current chronicle. "A charming, irresistible debut novel set in London during World War II about an adventurous young woman who becomes a secret advice columnist."
Oh my goodness this sounds so good!!! Adding to my TBR
Hi Harriet happy Sunday night and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter
Thanks Edward!!!
Thanks for this, I’ve added a bunch to my list! Excited to read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Try the Shades of Magic trilogy by the same author VE Schwab, amazing, absolutely loved it!
Oooh I’ll check it out thank you!!!
I love your brutal review. i think we have the same taste of book. my pick for you would be "of ashes and wildflowers" by erin fae i fall in love with this book! Its a faery fantazy book. shes just started it so right now its only in ebook. 💜
Ohhhh amazing I’ll add it to my TBR!!
First few books was rated pretty low but tbh i also havent read any of that but when you rate 5 ⭐️ on the seven year slip and the invisible life of addie larue has gained you a new sub. 😊
Ugh they’re such good books!!! I am very critical but when I love a book you know I really love it
HIGHLY recommend the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson! Lots of magic (that's almost scientific?) with beautiful and detailed world building, lots of politics, and romance. If you want something with less politics, more romance and fantasty-- Tress of the Emerald Sea also by him!
I really really really wanna read Mistborn! It’s tentatively on my TBR for this year
You have to finish ACOTAR! My friend recommended the throne of glass series to me next.
I will definitely finish soon!! I wanna read TOG so badly too!
The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson is an amazing fantasy series with its own specially created magic system!
I’m so so excited to read this! It’s on my TBR!
Girl!! I also just finished Harry Potter too! It was the funnest read ever, I had never read them as a kid so it was SO GOOD to read as an adult. Loved it
So many good recs in this video! I'll be reading Beartown next I think!
Harry Potter is truly so much fun!!!
i just found you and what i see im loving it vit is it possible to have a written list of what you went through? There are a few books id like to get
Ohhh I didn’t write a list but I included all of the titles & authors on screen in this video!!
@@scrivspo haha I see that now .... I was doing housework while listening to the video
also if it comes to Sarah J Maas, i think the Crescent City is the best series from her in my opinion, but there is crossovers from different series so it’s worth reading acotar and tog first
Ooooh okay!! Good to know!
Gurl this is motivating me to read more so far I have finished 1 book this year...however bought lets say a few more books. Also why was I surpriced that the first books author had a finnish lastname...had a google but she herself wasn't actually form finland rather one of her parents. Anyways loved the video as always ❤❤❤
Yayyy I’m so happy you enjoyed and it’s motivated you!!!
i was so keen to try The Murder Rule when will i stop getting catfished by a good blurb 😭
You might enjoy it!! It just wasn’t for me!
If you want to read more sci-fi books, I would recommend The Martian by Andy Weir! The main character is trapped on Mars and needs to survive, and his coping mechanism is humor. It's SO funny but also the story is very well thought out!
Omg this sounds amazing, have added to my TBR and I will read it this year ❤️❤️🥰
Can we just talk about this AMAZING t-shirt? I loved it!
Do you use GoodReads?
Many books definitely added to my wishlist! And have you tried To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before? (very YA, but adorbs) I really liked the books, and people say it’s better than The Summer I Turned Pretty (although I loved the first season of the show)
Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham = amazing non-fiction
Fang by Sarah Andersen = adorable comic book
Verity by Colleen Hoover = great thriller
I have Goodreads, you can follow me @scrivspo!! I haven’t read TATBILB, I will read it soon!!
What’s your Goodreads I feel like we have similar taste! X
It’s @scrivspo!!!
You should definitely give the fantasy series Artefacts of Ouranos by Nisha J. Tuli a shot! 📚
Thank you!! I’ll look out for it!
I DNFd acowar after loving the first two. I had bought the box set and gave it away!😂
Uughhhh I should’ve DNFed hahaha
I read The Murder Rule. I enjoyed it so much. It was a 4.75 for me
So happy you enjoyed it!!
Donde hallar respuesta, que sentido tiene la vifda
Absolutely no hate here, but does anyone have recommendations for creators who primarily read lit fic or dystopians? I find that majority of book tubers are reading romance and fantasy…just
Not my thing
I think a lot of creators read quite a diverse range so unfortunately I don’t have any recs for you!! I hope you find someone though!
Reading is sexy indeed
It rlly is
Reading is one of the things that is sexy.
Agreed!!
Your plant 🪴 needs water 💦
It’s beyond that, I need to get rid of it hahaha 😭😭😭
