Glad you mentioned the short game animations, not heard anyone else talk about this, so important, like the flop and bunker shots the clubface would be wide open and maybe step up a little left, not setup like a pitch shot with a square clubface, hope they fix this ASAP
Nice review, having a blast so far. Qualifying for the Masters from the USGA and then getting destroyed by the course was such a cool experience, and that's how you know it's good haha

I just wanna see ALL the equipment and clothing. It's cosmetic...there's no need to hide it behind a revolving store! Have you worked out what causes shots to go left and right etc?? Like does an overswing cause it to go right? My swing plane is mostly very straight but I'm missing a lot of greens and fairways all of a sudden
So there is RNG in this game to where your ball can land anywhere in the grey area shown at your aim point. So even if you hit a perfect perfect the ball can go anywhere within that zone. So sometimes straight, left or right of varying amounts. Now if you fast or slow it the input affects your distance, but the balls flight will be anywhere within that dispersion zone. So a fast is not always left and a slow is not always right, and sometimes a fast or slow goes dead straight as where exactly where you wanted it. Now on normal swing the RNG seems to be way better than on HARD. On normal it seems that better inputs on tempo lead to more shots toward the more central region of the dispersion zone. On Hard swing difficulty there RNG range on each shot is all over the place. Now when you level up your skills and improve your accuracy and upgrade your shot types, that dispersion zone for each shot gets much smaller. It does not stay huge like it is when you first start playing. Hope this helps!
Also wish there was an option to skip the cutscenes in between holes. They display the course logo twice plus 2 cutscenes every hole. Makes playing 4 rounds of golf take way longer than it needs to.
Also don't like the fact that in career mode you only have the option of "quick" rounds or the full 4 rounds. I play 2 rounds on 2k23 as 4 rounds per course is too time consuming and tedious.
Seen a few reviews and this is the best so far. Love the passion and presentation and knowledge. One of the best video reviews of any game I have seen. Bravo and keep it up. Have subbed to your channel.
I never understand why they don't have trivia info on load screens. It is so simple to find 2-3000 interesting things that have happened in any sport that most people don't know, and just write them with big text provided a skip button to move to the next one if you have already seen that one. No animation, no picture needed just a sentence.
Great Review. I totally agree with the private matches being so bare-boned. I really hope they add more variation in the future. Especially a shot-by-shot option. I've gotten quite used to seeing my friends shots. It made for a more fun experience.
the best review on this game that I have seen. Awesome! For me, I will stick with 2K. I mostly play online. Divot Derby, Quick 3 Hole Matches, Team Play , Top Golf. Seems more complete for what I want in a golf game. That and I went all out on the Tiger Woods Edition
I really appreciate your semi review. I watched others but it's tough because everyone I watched plays EA pga 2023 as an online competitor. I just wanted a game to play offline with fun gimmicks. Well, after I watched you I bought it, and have had the best time with the game. Everything you said was accurate. Just got the physical copy of the game today on ps5. I can't wait to play. I'm still waiting for the time to play with you sometime, brother. I was waiting for your review because i trust you. Edit: would be very cool if they release some challanges to go along with the masters on TV. I think that would be cool like if someone hit a certian shot maybe you have to hit the same shot for a challange.

Great video! According to an EA showcase where a creator changed his abilities to fit a course, the max level is 50 for now. You cannot max out everything
Really enjoying it so far, it's challenging but fair. Honestly if the game just ran a little better that would cover 90% of my complaints. It just feels a little laggy across the board, from the menus to the controls. I'd also love to see the impact of lie on a shot see some attention going forward. 87-100% out of heavy rough on tournament settings just doesn't feel right to me. I've been playing for a week now and I think I've only had one hazard shot ever that was listed below 80% for power.

@@vektacular Vex, I've watched two videos now where the grid lines were one way, and the putt preview and actual putt break were the opposite. I shot about same it's awesome because when I won amateur on 90AI I thought here we go this is easy then played the masters and us open and I knew this is great 👍 let's fucking goooooo I'm winning that masters on hard swing n putt it's gonna take me probably months but I'm winning it
You showed me things in the game that I didn't even realize lol. Now itching to play some more! Also my character is going to change her hair to Korda's :P Anyway, I love almost everything about this game - *except* - the putting. The green beads/breaks are trash. Completely inconsistent. I have about 8/10 Putt Accuracy and even so am hitting it straight, yet I routinely see putts move against the visual break. Literally saw a straight putt cross 5 break lines each visibly moving right. Yet the putt actually "broke" left. I hit a putt yesterday that had to cross 3 fast break lines and 3 medium break lines (it was like a corner area of the green). And the putt went *dead straight*. I could go on. Love the game. Putting is infuriatingly bad and is desperately in need of fixing. They fix that and ... ok and maybe more face option ... but they fix that and this game is truly top tier imo.
so when you are about to load into a round it shows your overall next to your golfers name. You can also see it in quickplay when selecting characters.
I have to say you got me into golf games I imo when I was a kid I played ea tour 14 I didn’t like it because I was a darn noob lol now I’m getting better but now I played both I like ea better because of the ball movement and when I swing the sound feels like real life 2k I feel like it not as real
We should have a stats n records tab somewhere, that should be a given especially in a golf game. As far as "The best offline golf game" you can't even play with a friend on a couch using your own created player on different xbox/ps profiles. I do like the game but some of the most important things to me are missing rn n it's just frustrating trying to justify spending $100 on this game rn. Haven't played a golf game in 10+ years honestly kinda a let down. Hopefully ea addresses some issues with upcoming patches. 🤞
I don't understand how swing timing not being decisive in the shot is a good thing. Where's the game? What skill does it demand from the player? It sounds like once you've figured out how to set up the shot you're mostly just sitting back watching the computer randomise some factors. I understand there's 'randomisation' in real life due to unseen elements, but that's layered on top of the effect of the player's swing, it doesn't supersede it. If they wanted to dial in some chaos that's fine, but it sounds like that chaos is included as an alternative to the ebb and flow of skilled swing execution, not a supplementary factor to it. Can anyone who's played the game tell me what I'm missing here?
A lot of good insight here and it’s gonna take me FOREVER to get to your level but 2k23 is so much different it’s hard to tell which is the better gameplay. Online seems limited. Swing meter is way different. Putting is way different. I’m more keen to the way EA has more “forgiveness” in the swing but 2k has more shaping options. Definitely curious on your thoughts of the two. Let’s play!
Does anyone know if the game on PC has 60fps? As apparently it is meant to have it, but according to some people on Steam, they are complaining about 30fps.
Great single player game. But the face that they have all the game modes like stroke, match, alt shot etc and the option to do a private match but you can only play non-turn stroke is absurd!! They deceived us big time on that front. Will they add it? I doubt it. The fact that those modes can only be played locally I’d ridiculous. This game is Rory 2.0 imo
I have over 300 games installed on my Xbox Series X and this is the ONLY freaking game in my entire library that makes my Xbox crash during the middle of gameplay. 4 times already!!!
That shot @31:42 is really disappointing. I can't imagine that irl a drive down the extreme right edge of the fairway would take a left turn and roll all the way across the fairway into the left rough. I'm not crazy about the 2k23 physics, and really hoped this would be better.
Anyone else struggling to find online players. I've tried competitive and social. Searching for matches in all the different types of games and can't find anybody.
Absolutely loving the game so far, didn't even realise half the stuff you showed was in there, haven't noticed the grids being wrong at all myself, had the problem of the swing Ui being hidden behind bushes and buildings though
You can definitely miss the fairway. I don’t know why y’all are playing with the kiddie settings. Simulation and ditch the shot tracker. You might as well be cheating with that on. You’ll never miss if you have it set to show you exactly where the ball will go.
I’ve been trying to get into it but just can’t deal with the glitchy, delayed and slow controls. I’ve been anticipating this game for months and can’t believe how underwhelming it is in almost every area.
I know all the 2K fan boys are mad .. But you play this game on the hardest settings it’s more SIM then 2K has ever been and more SIM then any TGC round I’ve ever played and I LOVE 2K/HB I’ve played since the golf club 1 till now with 2K23 EA nailed the swing mechanic On harder settings you can easily miss fairways with a bad swing plane and the iron play/short game is purely based on your ability to judge the distance of your shots and how much or little power you should be playing on your shots .. WHICH IS WHAT GOLF IS! it’s not about oh I hit perfect let’s go dead straight of my swing tempo is a little bit off so it’s “fast or “slow” and the game decides to randomly punish you .. like it’s made me realise how gimmicky 2Ks swing mechanic is .. And I still love & play 2K it’s great we’ve 2 golf games & they both offer different things .. But in 2K I blew through career mode in like a week on master swing & the hardest AI possible .. The EA game .. I failed in the amateurs I failed Q school Im currently on the korn ferry tour I’ve missed the cut A BUNCH! then my last 2 tournaments I came 6th and then had my first career win and played awesome .. Next event I made the cut & struggled but got a top 10 .. Now I’m currently playing the play offs & made the weekend like this games career mode if you’re playing on the harder settings is going to take you A LOT of time to go out there & win every tournament.. & it’s much MUCH harder then 2K and at the start I was getting frustrated wanted to play easier settings but stuck with it on hard (bc I’m stubborn & competitive) LOL & man I’m so glad I did bc that first career win felt so rewarding the first time making the cut felt so rewarding.. and then to go from my first win to then the game not just being like oh ok you got it now boom Win streak activated .. NO it was like ok GG congrats but this is a new course a new challenge & you gotta grind just to get to the weekend again .. and like I said I finished like 10th after my first win & it’s truly because EVERY course in EA feels different & plays very very different the course physics & ball physics are fantastic! & EA is just getting started I hope to see online modes grow massively but I love that EA already has tournaments set up for all difficulty levels and not just one setting like 2K .. I love both games but I think EA really did a great job so far.
I don't like that there are so few create a player options. I would think that a game in 2023 would let you do full facial and body modifications. Also, the store has such a small selection of clothes and most equipment purchases are purely cosmetic. I love the gameplay but it doesn't give me motivation to earn game currency if there's nothing really worth spending on. Again, the game is fun. I just wish the "career" aspect was deeper.

But as for the equipment, didn't they only make it possible to real money purchase the tickets? Leaving both cosmetic and performance items only purchasable with reward points that cannot be bought with real money.
I just played the trial copy of PGA Tour. I was not impressed. The course graphics look great, but the operating aspects are not so good. The balls seem to roll forever when they hit the greens. Also, there is not much help with putting. I am not going to buy it. 2k23 might not look as good, but I think that 2k23 has better game play.
I am impressed with the course graphics.The courses are very well done, beautiful.I am playing late because my trial will expire in several hours. I just wish that the game play and the ball physics were better.
Really enjoyed the game so far there are a couple little things that I would change. I don't mind the grids to line up the putt I wish to gridlines would disappear ... if you miss the putt then the gridlines come back on again. I also don't like the fact how the equipment upgrades do not make any difference to the performance of the clubs except for the spec ones which kind of seems crazy. You weren't lots of coins to buy these different clubs and shafts and so forth but they do not make any difference so really there is no other reason to collect them bar cosmetic. But the rest of the game is really good and I agree the graphics are way better than 2K frankly I think 2K looks like a PS3 game at best it is not good in my opinion the thing I like about this game is you just can't tear it apart the first time you play it you have to actually work hard to get better
I agree with the cosmetic equipment options. And while playing, it's hard to tell the difference between the different pieces of equipment especially when most of them are the same color.
The player models and reactions are stunning so not sure where you're getting at. That would be a huge job for the devs. Those teams will have moved on to other projects. Just skip them if you dont like them.
My honest review. Sad when a Playstation 2 golf game is much better. I see the people crying about 2k23 shot mechanics clearly they didn't calibrate there swings in the game. This game is a 10 looks and graphics wize but gameplay needs work. Name a golf game they starts u off on hole 12 +4 in a tournament and if my some chance u come back to -1 the next day you plus 2 again starts u on hole 4 this time. The wind had zero factor ive seen it say 14 wind blowing left so I aim right knowing the wind is gonna pull it left there was zero pull what so ever and it brought me 6 miles to the right where I aimed. For some odd reason the ball can't stop rolling. If u chip just right ball rolls off the green 99% of the time but when u aim short your always 10 ft away and the putting isn't easy. U will miss more 3 ft puts then anything else it will show in putter vision it will break left to right u adjust perfectly it breaks way to the right off the green. Chipping out of bunkers the ball rolls likes it going down mount everest with a soft green non moving. The swing is ass always over swing or underswing . I finished -19 on easy difficulty and had a migraine from yelling. They don't walk you through the swinging so your stuck figuring it out on your own and putting and when your in career mode learning on the fly isn't good. Some people may like it visually wise game Is stunning but gameplay will stress u out I promise 😂 I switched to easy till I figure out the controls and couldn't if I just barely under swing it bounces and rolls for a century off the green. If u over swing it hooks or slices and you miss the green. And they let u choose a caddy and modify your golf bag which u never once see at any point in time lol. I wouldn't recommend this game to my worst enemy ea got me outta $75 but its ok
I was anxious to play the game. Downloaded it Friday, noticed it didn't work with a mouse, and instantly got a refund. I'll stick to 2K23 and be happy with my $75. It was also noticeably a tad bit laggy on loading, and personally I just didn't like the instant feel of it from the start. My pc isn't old, and I can play on mid to high settings, so the little glitchiness I saw wasn't cool either. Hope you and others enjoy it though!
I've given the game a good chance today and come to the conclusion that this game is just Rory golf reskinned. I put the opponent difficulty at 90. Its made zero difference. After round 1 the leaders were 5 under. After round 4 the leaders were 5 under. This was the us open at brookline and I played as an amateur. This is exactly how Rory golf played. The cpu players never progressed after round 1. They either stood still or their scores for worse. Everything about this game is brilliant apart from the one thing that matters. The AI. EA never bother with AI. That's why fifa and Madden are unplayable. They won't fix this game just as they never fixed Rory golf Why? Because ea don't fix games and won't think there's anything wrong with it They don't care anyway. Avoid this game if you want a proper game of golf. So there's still no decent golf games to play. If the ai actually worked then this game would be brilliant. But its just Rory golf with better visuals. Apart from that. It's exactly the same game. Ite ea after all.
I bought it for £56 and refunded it 38 min later. Stuttering,pc port is terrible. I play on a pc and it's set up for using a controller more than mouse.
The gameplay hasn't evolved past Tiger Woods 2009. TGC2019 remain the defacto standard of golf games - by a wide margin. The worst part of this steaming pile of dung is the cutscene closeups before and after each shot. Pathetic for a next gen console title. The programmers were apparently too preoccupied with selecting their preferred pronouns to design a game worthy of playing.
Why do TH-camrs keep saying 2K23 was a good golf game? It has a 79 on metacritic, 6/10 for user reviews, it's a bang average golf game. EA's PGA Tour on the other hand is fantastic golf game, easily a 9/10. 2K would want to put their hand in their pocket, give their dev studio a bigger budget because 2K golf is stuck in a time warp with minimal upgrades every year.

In EAs game, is there a way to change the course conditions in career mode like in 2K or is it just always set at tournament conditions?

Most golfers in the game are LIV it seems, think the deals were done before LIV was a thing since the game was delayed.
If greens are fixed, a robust ranking system is implemented and some lag issues….. WoW this is going to be great

The grid lines are only opposite when there is water pulling the putt the other way.

You showed me things in the game that I didn't even realize lol. Now itching to play some more! Also my character is going to change her hair to Korda's :P
Anyway, I love almost everything about this game - *except* - the putting. The green beads/breaks are trash. Completely inconsistent. I have about 8/10 Putt Accuracy and even so am hitting it straight, yet I routinely see putts move against the visual break. Literally saw a straight putt cross 5 break lines each visibly moving right. Yet the putt actually "broke" left. I hit a putt yesterday that had to cross 3 fast break lines and 3 medium break lines (it was like a corner area of the green). And the putt went *dead straight*. I could go on.
Love the game. Putting is infuriatingly bad and is desperately in need of fixing. They fix that and ... ok and maybe more face option ... but they fix that and this game is truly top tier imo.

so when you are about to load into a round it shows your overall next to your golfers name. You can also see it in quickplay when selecting characters.
I think you can turn off the flyover but I actually like the flyover as it gives me a strategy for that particular hole

I have to say you got me into golf games I imo when I was a kid I played ea tour 14 I didn’t like it because I was a darn noob lol now I’m getting better but now I played both I like ea better because of the ball movement and when I swing the sound feels like real life 2k I feel like it not as real

Can you play with another person off line? In Golf Club the other person in "guest" and does not earn any experience.
We should have a stats n records tab somewhere, that should be a given especially in a golf game. As far as "The best offline golf game" you can't even play with a friend on a couch using your own created player on different xbox/ps profiles. I do like the game but some of the most important things to me are missing rn n it's just frustrating trying to justify spending $100 on this game rn. Haven't played a golf game in 10+ years honestly kinda a let down. Hopefully ea addresses some issues with upcoming patches. 🤞
Played it a few minutes before work. Like it, mechanics felt different but more realistic. The putting though, is tough. Putting is way easier on 2k.

I don't understand how swing timing not being decisive in the shot is a good thing. Where's the game? What skill does it demand from the player? It sounds like once you've figured out how to set up the shot you're mostly just sitting back watching the computer randomise some factors. I understand there's 'randomisation' in real life due to unseen elements, but that's layered on top of the effect of the player's swing, it doesn't supersede it. If they wanted to dial in some chaos that's fine, but it sounds like that chaos is included as an alternative to the ebb and flow of skilled swing execution, not a supplementary factor to it. Can anyone who's played the game tell me what I'm missing here?

The career mode won't let me progess to the second round of a tournament 🤬 and I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong I was 7 under after the 1st round
Oh no, that would be a very frustrating glitch. Not sure what would cause this. Hopefully this gets fixed for you ASAP

A lot of good insight here and it’s gonna take me FOREVER to get to your level but 2k23 is so much different it’s hard to tell which is the better gameplay. Online seems limited. Swing meter is way different. Putting is way different. I’m more keen to the way EA has more “forgiveness” in the swing but 2k has more shaping options. Definitely curious on your thoughts of the two. Let’s play!
Does anyone know if the game on PC has 60fps? As apparently it is meant to have it, but according to some people on Steam, they are complaining about 30fps.
Mine is 60 on rtx 3060 laptop . Can choose unlocked either
It’s default is 30 but people need to learn to look in the menu options. You can set it to either 30, 60 or unlimited.

No there is no 3-click option at launch @henrykkoseda6110. They plan to add it as an update sometime post launch
You should play on PC; with higher frame rates, it’s very smooth.
Great single player game. But the face that they have all the game modes like stroke, match, alt shot etc and the option to do a private match but you can only play non-turn stroke is absurd!! They deceived us big time on that front. Will they add it? I doubt it. The fact that those modes can only be played locally I’d ridiculous. This game is Rory 2.0 imo

That shot @31:42 is really disappointing. I can't imagine that irl a drive down the extreme right edge of the fairway would take a left turn and roll all the way across the fairway into the left rough. I'm not crazy about the 2k23 physics, and really hoped this would be better.

Anyone else struggling to find online players. I've tried competitive and social. Searching for matches in all the different types of games and can't find anybody.
Might just be an early glitch.. hopefully. Any idea what the default gameplay style online play is?
Absolutely loving the game so far, didn't even realise half the stuff you showed was in there, haven't noticed the grids being wrong at all myself, had the problem of the swing Ui being hidden behind bushes and buildings though
Same, havnt noticed any grids being off, pushing and pulling definitely make it seem broken at times haha

Simulation and ditch the shot tracker. You might as well be cheating with that on. You’ll never miss if you have it set to show you exactly where the ball will go.

I’ve been trying to get into it but just can’t deal with the glitchy, delayed and slow controls. I’ve been anticipating this game for months and can’t believe how underwhelming it is in almost every area.
I know all the 2K fan boys are mad ..
But you play this game on the hardest settings it’s more SIM then 2K has ever been and more SIM then any TGC round I’ve ever played and I LOVE 2K/HB I’ve played since the golf club 1 till now with 2K23
EA nailed the swing mechanic
On harder settings you can easily miss fairways with a bad swing plane and the iron play/short game is purely based on your ability to judge the distance of your shots and how much or little power you should be playing on your shots ..

it’s not about oh I hit perfect let’s go dead straight of my swing tempo is a little bit off so it’s “fast or “slow” and the game decides to randomly punish you .. like it’s made me realise how gimmicky 2Ks swing mechanic is ..
And I still love & play 2K it’s great we’ve 2 golf games & they both offer different things ..
But in 2K I blew through career mode in like a week on master swing & the hardest AI possible ..

Im currently on the korn ferry tour
I’ve missed the cut A BUNCH!
then my last 2 tournaments I came 6th and then had my first career win and played awesome ..
Next event I made the cut & struggled but got a top 10 ..
Now I’m currently playing the play offs & made the weekend like this games career mode if you’re playing on the harder settings is going to take you A LOT of time to go out there & win every tournament.. & it’s much MUCH harder then 2K and at the start I was getting frustrated wanted to play easier settings but stuck with it on hard
(bc I’m stubborn & competitive) LOL
& man I’m so glad I did bc that first career win felt so rewarding the first time making the cut felt so rewarding.. and then to go from my first win to then the game not just being like oh ok you got it now boom Win streak activated .. NO it was like ok GG congrats but this is a new course a new challenge & you gotta grind just to get to the weekend again .. and like I said I finished like 10th after my first win & it’s truly because EVERY course in EA feels different & plays very very different the course physics & ball physics are fantastic!
& EA is just getting started I hope to see online modes grow massively but I love that EA already has tournaments set up for all difficulty levels and not just one setting like 2K ..
I love both games but I think EA really did a great job so far.

I don't like that there are so few create a player options. I would think that a game in 2023 would let you do full facial and body modifications. Also, the store has such a small selection of clothes and most equipment purchases are purely cosmetic. I love the gameplay but it doesn't give me motivation to earn game currency if there's nothing really worth spending on.
Again, the game is fun. I just wish the "career" aspect was deeper.
EA Tiger Woods PGA 2004/2005 career mode felt a little more robust. Those games were incredible.

But as for the equipment, didn't they only make it possible to real money purchase the tickets? Leaving both cosmetic and performance items only purchasable with reward points that cannot be bought with real money.
I just played the trial copy of PGA Tour. I was not impressed. The course graphics look great, but the operating aspects are not so good. The balls seem to roll forever when they hit the greens. Also, there is not much help with putting. I am not going to buy it. 2k23 might not look as good, but I think that 2k23 has better game play.
I am impressed with the course graphics.The courses are very well done, beautiful.I am playing late because my trial will expire in several hours. I just wish that the game play and the ball physics were better.

Really enjoyed the game so far there are a couple little things that I would change. I don't mind the grids to line up the putt I wish to gridlines would disappear ... if you miss the putt then the gridlines come back on again. I also don't like the fact how the equipment upgrades do not make any difference to the performance of the clubs except for the spec ones which kind of seems crazy. You weren't lots of coins to buy these different clubs and shafts and so forth but they do not make any difference so really there is no other reason to collect them bar cosmetic. But the rest of the game is really good and I agree the graphics are way better than 2K frankly I think 2K looks like a PS3 game at best it is not good in my opinion the thing I like about this game is you just can't tear it apart the first time you play it you have to actually work hard to get better
I agree with the cosmetic equipment options. And while playing, it's hard to tell the difference between the different pieces of equipment especially when most of them are the same color.

So Tiger now has a 10 year exclusivity deal for the PGA 2K games and cannot be in the EA games.
The player models and reactions are stunning so not sure where you're getting at. That would be a huge job for the devs. Those teams will have moved on to other projects. Just skip them if you dont like them.
They have made 3 golf games since the Rory game
EA have not.
My honest review. Sad when a Playstation 2 golf game is much better. I see the people crying about 2k23 shot mechanics clearly they didn't calibrate there swings in the game. This game is a 10 looks and graphics wize but gameplay needs work. Name a golf game they starts u off on hole 12 +4 in a tournament and if my some chance u come back to -1 the next day you plus 2 again starts u on hole 4 this time. The wind had zero factor ive seen it say 14 wind blowing left so I aim right knowing the wind is gonna pull it left there was zero pull what so ever and it brought me 6 miles to the right where I aimed. For some odd reason the ball can't stop rolling. If u chip just right ball rolls off the green 99% of the time but when u aim short your always 10 ft away and the putting isn't easy. U will miss more 3 ft puts then anything else it will show in putter vision it will break left to right u adjust perfectly it breaks way to the right off the green. Chipping out of bunkers the ball rolls likes it going down mount everest with a soft green non moving. The swing is ass always over swing or underswing . I finished -19 on easy difficulty and had a migraine from yelling. They don't walk you through the swinging so your stuck figuring it out on your own and putting and when your in career mode learning on the fly isn't good. Some people may like it visually wise game Is stunning but gameplay will stress u out I promise 😂 I switched to easy till I figure out the controls and couldn't if I just barely under swing it bounces and rolls for a century off the green. If u over swing it hooks or slices and you miss the green. And they let u choose a caddy and modify your golf bag which u never once see at any point in time lol. I wouldn't recommend this game to my worst enemy ea got me outta $75 but its ok
I was anxious to play the game. Downloaded it Friday, noticed it didn't work with a mouse, and instantly got a refund. I'll stick to 2K23 and be happy with my $75. It was also noticeably a tad bit laggy on loading, and personally I just didn't like the instant feel of it from the start. My pc isn't old, and I can play on mid to high settings, so the little glitchiness I saw wasn't cool either. Hope you and others enjoy it though!
I've given the game a good chance today and come to the conclusion that this game is just Rory golf reskinned.
I put the opponent difficulty at 90. Its made zero difference.
After round 1 the leaders were 5 under. After round 4 the leaders were 5 under.
This was the us open at brookline and I played as an amateur.
This is exactly how Rory golf played. The cpu players never progressed after round 1. They either stood still or their scores for worse.
Everything about this game is brilliant apart from the one thing that matters.
The AI.
EA never bother with AI. That's why fifa and Madden are unplayable.
They won't fix this game just as they never fixed Rory golf

I bought it for £56 and refunded it 38 min later. Stuttering,pc port is terrible. I play on a pc and it's set up for using a controller more than mouse.
Too many swing types. Do we need 20 different strokes? 5 different bags? 1000 challenges? All to much for the casual gamer

The gameplay hasn't evolved past Tiger Woods 2009. TGC2019 remain the defacto standard of golf games - by a wide margin. The worst part of this steaming pile of dung is the cutscene closeups before and after each shot. Pathetic for a next gen console title. The programmers were apparently too preoccupied with selecting their preferred pronouns to design a game worthy of playing.

Why do TH-camrs keep saying 2K23 was a good golf game? It has a 79 on metacritic, 6/10 for user reviews, it's a bang average golf game. EA's PGA Tour on the other hand is fantastic golf game, easily a 9/10. 2K would want to put their hand in their pocket, give their dev studio a bigger budget because 2K golf is stuck in a time warp with minimal upgrades every year.
I will just stick with 2K23.

Trust me, staying with 2k is your best decision. I deleted pga tour after 5 holes. No part of it is better.
