Another tip: If a teammate becomes stunned and continues to hold aggro while Incapacitated... PLEASE do them and the rest of your team a favor and flash the monster. You might not always have time to run over and knock your teammate out of the stun, but a quick flash can often buy them the crucial seconds they need to survive. They will be very thankful and you will feel like a total hero! Please pass this on so others know! Happy Hunting!
this actually makes me want to run challenger mantle, sometimes you might be in a bad spot to flash so it honestly sounds like a good idea to bring it sometimes
Good points! Also, keep in mind that if you decide to go for a GS/CB/Hammer wake-up-hit you can place bombs behind the monster. Bombs have fixed damage. Their damage does not scale with weakpoints. As long as bombs hit the monster somewhere you're good to go. Let the slow weapon users go for wake up. Let the fast player take care of the bombs so that they explode right after the monster woke up. Preferably at the monster's hind legs or at least far enough away from the head so that the bombs don't knock those over who do go for the head. Because the opening after the sleep is important too to deal damage. But if bombs lay too close to the head you'll get hit after the wake-up. Max damage output talk, guys!
Team Darkside, yeah, I agree... When i use gs to wake the monster and the other's put bombs in the head, i prefer to tank with 2nd charge and don't stop hitting. Oh, you're great! I love your work 👍👍👍
I play with alot of randos, and I have run into this way too many times. When we don't have a "Wake up" wepon on our team, and we don't want to be rude and run in, then me or someone elts runs in and hits. It also happens with Big wepons not going in when the monster is asleep. Do you have any stories like this?
Well having a wake up weapon is not a requirement as it is only for one hit, so i'd rather people play their best weapons and performing well rather than struggling to land a hit. I was wondering if the bombing is still x3 dmg when the monster sleeps. I always see a "180" popping up.
As a hammer user who SOS's frequently, I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll go for the head of a downed monster with a charged upswing to clear a path if a blade user is in the way.
Dude... As long as its along the monster who would complain about a possible mount... I wish more hammer users would give me a lift more often. I am quite dodgy though
I frequently go with a mate, and I run hammer while he uses a sleep SnS. (Forget which one exactly). But we usually toss up an SOS at the beginning in case anyone feels like joining up. I will frequently upswing any of those upstart Longsword users, and Dual Blades too if they get a little combo happy when the monster is going to sleep. If they aren't going to let me throw out my Lvl 3 on the head, they can at least help out by building up mount damage.
Same. If you're a GS main and the monster has a severable tail, you belong there, not the head. Let me get my big bang off so we can stun the fucker and get that DPS, instead of getting tripped by your true charge. I play around with hammer and Gs so I see both angles of the argument. Really, a little consideration for your team goes a long way.
@@LuisFelipe-pq9lr I've never heard of aerial dual blade how would that even work lol that sounds so ineffective I'd love to find out how it works and if it's a good way to play
@@nosleepjones4551 In MH Generations and MH Generations Ultimate there's a class called Aerial, it is used to mount monsters and attack in the air, some of the special moves of the classes of those games went to MHW, the MHW Aerial Dual Blades is based on the slide jump attack, there are some parts of the maps that you can use the Vertical Beyblade Attack infinitive, similar to the Greatsword jump attack, it gives a ton of damage and it goes infinitive, there are skills that make this even more powerful, such as slide affinity skill and others, It isnt that good, but it is really funny to just spin in the air with the DB
As a hammer main there's nothing I love more than being repeatedly hit by a dual blade user when the monster is down and I'm trying to get my big bang combo off. Great vid!
Derek Gill I kinda miss that actually. Sure, it’s nice to have items right from the start, but it’s less infuriating than some selfish motherless bastard taking more than their own share.
Honestly, online players usually are pretty nice to me when I'm using HH. At sleep, they always let me finish my Encores and wait till I get my buffs up before engaging. Probably because they know how rare a HH player is and treat him accordingly.
He should add for the placement part don't expect everyone to be running one level of flinch free as well since it does not always fit into everyone's build.
If you're a hammer user though, flinch free makes for a sweet revenge when sending these rude sword users flying around, when they can't trip you anymore, and can't prevent the golf swing from making them fly :D. And who knows, maybe some of them may learn to actually place themselves properly afterwards.
I am new to MH, and quickly learned etiquette. It's not even that hard and yet some people still do the annoying stuff. Just today, as I was putting a deviljho to sleep twice and a long sword player kept waking him and spamming triangle while I was trying my best to wyvern blast his face lol
You should have added that EZ Max Potions should REMAIN IN THE BOX until someone carts, then it is FOR THEM to regain their +50 hp after carting. You will notice there are 2 EZ Max potions in the box, NOT 4. That is not one for each, but one for each allowed cart...
Francis Del Torto This is the most anoying thing. I'm currently farming tempered Kushala because is the one that's giving me good gems, but these people just came and flash it the exact moment it flies, falls downs and you can't hit because that stupid wind.
I was literally about to say this. I swear about 3/4 of the time I get carted in this game is when the monster gets a lucky stun and I can't do anything about it. I don't know where he's getting this "hit too many times" thing, but that's not been my experience AT ALL. I've been slotting in Steadfast Jewels religiously .
That happened to me once. Promptly turned off MHW for the rest of the day. The other common occurrence is being stunned one good hit away from death. It's why I carry max Stun Resist for my builds. That said it doesn't help when you latch onto the Teostra with your Switch Axe as it flies up to explode. >.>
I've been telling people not to flash pod mounts and every time I post it somewhere I get a ton of dislikes or downvotes. Glad that you put it in this video so I can bring it up next time someone who "only listens to youtubers" say what I'm recommending is foolish
David "Um are you fucking stupid? Flash pods speed up quest times you've clearly never done a speed run before" Got that nice little bit of a response from a dude who sent me rage mail after I launched him with my GS into the depths of Coral Reef.
@@adilsaid7275 but he is quotting a message he received , and maybe the person is right i never look it up since speedrunning this game is boring , or he was just sarcastic .
Hitting teammates when stunned is nice. Unless black diablos is about to do her targeted charge at you. Happened to me once, was stunned in my corner, minding my own stars. Dude coming my way because he's probably a nice fellow trying to help. Managed to not reach me in time, get knocked by black diablos, and getting me impaled by the big bad. While I didn't really mind, he might have felt bad about it (I know I would :p) So, help your team, but stay aware of your surroundings though.
The majority of this is exactly why I hunt solo. Especially the sleeping monster thing. Too many people want to be the damn hero instead of working with the team.
Yeah i had to give up my title as garen the destroyer to be garen the tank (bringing life powder and demon powdervand hardshell powder with both heal and cleanser boosters and full uragaan set so i wouldnt die with a sleep weapon )and the teams i got were still dying and failing the quests
Some of these were very insightful. Some things I'd like to add; 1.similar to the one about life powder, if a team mate runs over to you in between fights and they start chugging a drink, ie demon drug or armor skin, don't run off. They, like myself, have a decoration that applies that buff to nearby allies. They aren't coming over to rub it in your face that they have a demon drug and you don't, they might be trying to give you a buff alongside there's. 2. To add to the know your place to strike, and this part mainly applies to long sword users. Be aware of what you might be hitting on the other side of the monster. I've had people leave hunts cause a long sword user is doing his part to cut the tail, but the tip of his sword was traveling through most of the monster and was hitting a hammer man trying to break the horns. Don't be that guy that staggers someone through the monster, try and aim your blows accurately. 3. Don't be a dick and carve the tail mid fight. Keep focus on the target and it will usually run away shortly after it's tail is cut. Spend the time to get that extra dps in, instead of hoping to get a carve in without getting aggro by the monster. 4. Lastly, and this isn't really a tip more like a suggestion. Don't be afraid to try/use different types of weapons. Long sword user that can't get a Diablo horn to drop? Maybe try switching to a hammer and cracking that bitches horn yourself. You and your friends primarily use bows or blunt weapons? Maybe try a sharp weapon to cut that tail so you can get that upgrade you need. It broadens YOUR capabilities, while alone exposing you to the ways other weapons handle. Which in turn, may make you rethink your play style a bit when running with those weapons. Man this went on for a while. Anyway, great his Arrekz, keep up the good work my man.
"Don't be a dick and carve the tail mid fight. Keep focus on the target and it will usually run away shortly after it's tail is cut. Spend the time to get that extra dps in, instead of hoping to get a carve in without getting aggro by the monster." Is the worst advice you can give. Don't listen to this child. Carve that tail mid-fight IF you have the time for it.
I usually solo or duo with with my one friend that also likes this game, he uses a variety of things and I main both lances. I know it’s fixed and the bombs prob wake it up anyway but we both agree there’s something so satisfying about waking up a monster with a bomb headache set off by wyverns fire
This is soooooo necessary. So many people ruining sleep bombing, and spamming cluster bombs or knocking around hammer users by the head. Flashpods are a current plague too.
Josh its always been an issue but I have never had this many run ins with cluster spam and rampant stunning in the previous titles. Which makes sense since there's is a larger player base now, Including way more new players. Problem is they watch these solo speed run vids of cluster spam or arc shot spam and think it's a good way to play in online. Nothing like getting knocked out of great sword charges by explosions every time a monster goes down.
"Ruining the game." BRAH. If new people don't buy the game, you don't get a sequel. Take your elitism and shove it. You weren't perfect when you started playing either.
Worst example I saw was a (probably) beginner who was left alone on the pink rath story mission on multiplayer difficulty, joined in about 20 min after he had started and he had died two times already. Needless to say he was super thankful, told me he was stuck on that mission for ages. Seriously people, it's not that hard not to be a dick. You hunt together and you either win or fail together.
That is not necessarily the case. I generally am ok if they cart on accident. if it is an obvious case that their equipment is not nearly up to par for the mission, then they need to learn to freaking step back and play super conservatively... but I may be giving too much credit to randos...
I'd rather have somebody in my team that will leave after the first cart, instead of somebody dying over and over again out of pride and costs us the hunt because "quitting is shameful"
11:05 Oh shit I didn't know that I usually play with randoms (we never communicate )and I thought everyone got there own shit in the box. Thanks on informing me on this ill pick up alot less stuff
LIFE POWDERS ARE CLUTCH, AND NOW DEMON AND ARMOR POWDERS AS WELL!! I have no idea why people don't buff up for more difficult missions -_- I always find myself bringing these items even when I bring the horn for my beasty support build #getcarried
Because its a temporary boost and item slots are at a premium. I would rather take some extra healing and support items than a buff that last a short time. Should you take it if you can fit it in, sure, but generally speaking its better to take extra items for supporting the team than it is a short term buff. Some people also like to have room so they can collect things along the way like ivy and honey to make more potions and mega potions as the fight goes on. Damage is good but its only a part of the fight, not the entirety.
Nah, you're fine Bazel, you are a Gogsend. I say we help each other. I need some parts, you want some food, and if Jho shows up we can kick his pickle ass back to the Old World. ;)
@@Leo-ws3bp as an IG main who plays with a bow user a lot (who uses that move pretty much whenever the monster stops for a decent amount of time), ive never had a real problem with getting knocked out of the air by it, it only takes a minor adjustment to play style and the extra KO damage is really useful
I was once an oblivious longsword user, until I changed to hammer and greatsword. Another point is that people always seem too harsh on players who faint, with auto messages like 'git gud' or 'you suck'. Love to see them faint shortly afterwards and then laugh at them.
just saying as a great sword user I hate it when someone with an insect glaive wakes up the monster with the insect and yes this has happened multiple times
hatless ra1n Had Nerg asleep with 6 bombs around his head, then a dick head IG uses his bug to wake it up by hitting it's tail. I kicked him from the quest before we finished the kill
As an IG user, I only use the Kinsect to wake up a monster if I need the Red extract that badly to dish out damage afterwards and only when solo. Otherwise, I'll use the Tornado Slash, positioning myself so the final hit, hits the head. Usually does around 280 damage with only Red buff, up to around 350 with Triple buff.
Another thing, if you have to hunt multiple monsters and you're taking care of one monster and your team is taking care of another, please capture it. It sucks not being able to carve. Splitting up like this doesn't happen too often but please always carry traps and tanqs just in case it does.
Me and a buddy pair up often as Lance and Hammer. I attack from the side and rear while he handles the front. Sometimes he whacks me but thanks to my shield I don't even flinch. Though I'll never forget the time he threw out a charged upswing at a Rathian who took off just in time for him to nail me.
My friend and I are veteran monster hunter players but it was rare for us to play with other players at that time even to ourselves so we were excited about monster hunter world. He got into the game earlier than me because I got busy with my life then I finally decided to join. He already finished the game and was just helping me out. Then I noticed when we play that the help he provides is not only limited to killing the monsters but also saving my ass multiple times. It was a new and soothing experience for me since I've never had any experiences like that in online gaming before. He heals, he looks at my status and hits me when stunned, flashes the monster when it's about to deliver a follow up killing blow to my wounded ass, throws rocks to flinch monsters when I'm in a tight spot. And I notice all of these as we play. So I can't help but mention it to him and thank him he just said we're a team. Since then I got good, hunter rank 140 and we're helping our asses. It motivated me to help my teammates and we recruited two more of our friends and we are in a full squad now. There's nothing better than hunting with your friends and friends saving each other's butt. Some people are toxic towards their friends when playing like letting them die, trolling them, annoy them on purpose just to prove they're better but monster hunter teaches us that we are a team. I thank my friend for showing teamwork to me. We played many games together like cs go and he plays coordinately. I admire him for making a once toxic guy like me a better man.
I feel like if u play online you should be forced to watch this will be sharing this vid all over social media. Out of all the game I have played online I would say 2% had people who used life powder and or had people who would knock u out of cc. I just farmed up over 200 life powder I’m stocked up. Another thing I noticed that was insane is literally no team I have ever been if the quest specified it’s a capture quest people will not stop attacking I’m always the one trying to frantically cap the monster before they fail the mission it’s annoying AF.
original89gamer yeah. I’m new to the series and have been guilty of a few of these, but I damn sure won’t be doing it again! Hopefully most people want to get better and find this video.
there are way too few that care for a capture or see for it, did the double tempered bazel the other day for good amount of times only two guys and me only cared/watched when the monsters was ready for capture to end things faster -.-
yeah, ive made a custom shout-out for the monster being ready to capture because it's rediculous. the SoS system is cool but I think it's causing people to just rush into a quest without looking at what it is.
That’s why I always do my capture quests solo. And for shits and giggles I’ll join capture SOS’es just for a chance at watching some idiot grief the host or the host themselves killing the capture target.
These videos have been really informative! Great job hitting the important bits so far. If there isn't already a video up for it I'd love to see some breakdown of exhaust damage and the best ways to put it to work in MHW. I haven't been able to find a deep dive into that yet.
To the high rank/Master rank hunters that respond to me and other noobs SOS flares, I just wanna say yall the real MVPs. Was stuck on deviljho, teostra and xeno for the longest time( I try to beat them solo the first few runs) but as soon as I popped that flare these badass hunters come in and wreak shop. If it wasn't for them I'd have quit the game, so I thank yall from the bottom of my heart!
yeah there is no excuse to not take some items but i will say this. Let me god damn fully customize the item bar as there are things there that i don't ever want tied too it. If my radial has the item on it, I don't need it on the item bar. come on devs. is having bbq spit, net and fishing rod permanently tied to it necessary?
Clavitz Rain At least there's a radial menu now... Now imagine that pain but *also* only being able to scroll through the item bar. Ahhhh the good ole' days.
Thank you for this video! I love playing with a sleep bombing set but I cant really make use of it in multiplayer because there is always one hero who doesnt know about status effects. Hope this video teaches all of the new players how its done. Keep it up Arekkz love your content!!!
I feel like I knew all of these, but I'm really happy to see my thoughts finally vindicated by a strong source. Everybody ought to see this video. Adding to your point about Flash Pods and mounting: Flash Pods _even without mounting_ should be used during opportune moments instead of recklessly spammed, ESPECIALLY against the likes of Kushla Daora because of the tornado threat. I cannot count how many times players would Flash him while still in his fucking tornado and he would fall down and none of our melee weapons could do anything to him. Or even against other flying monsters, if you Flash a monster out of the air but all the teammates have to spend almost ten seconds running to the opposite side of the field to get him then it's essentially a wasted Flash (this sorta ties into the video's point about setting traps, it is the same principle: watch what your teammates are doing before you commit to a tactic like that). I feel like this game can be played as an art form and I am becoming more and more interested in achieving that, all it takes is practice. Thanks for the video.
Every close range build I use has at least 1 point in Flinch Free, which negates a huge portion of multiplayer frustration by making it so that only a few friendly fire attacks actually effect you. Longsword, bow and non-explosive bowgun ammo can’t touch you. The only attacks that seem to work on you are the ones which send you flying, which aren’t so bad given how few there are and that they can sometimes be used as a mounting attack.
Alexander Bouscher Flashing itself isn't bad but what I am speaking about and as well as in the video is specifically when you flash when someone mounted the monster. Which is a waste of a bomb and a topple because the flash fall is typically shorter than a mounted topple. Otherwise flash bombs are great and life saving especially against teostra.
@@alexanderbouscher7013 Well another point is that the flash pods lose effect if you use them too often. That's just another reason why you shouldn't flash a mounted monster or why you might consider not to flash every attack, that everyone could easily dodge as well. I see people flashing Nergigante's divebomb all the time. Yes, it cancels this dangerous attack. However, he will continue to use it as long as he has the blackened spikes, which only shatter after a divebomb. So it's so much better to dodge the divebomb and let him shatter those spikes, to be able to attack him without bouncing off again instead of flashing every divebomb.
don't listen to this chump, clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. What you want to do is focus on getting that DPS up, if your team are in the way then get them out of the way, they probs can't keep up with the sick deeps anyway so it doesn't matter if they can't hit anything. What does matter is that you can hit things because you are the best. Now go forth and show them just how powerful a longsword is.
This is a good video. Thanks for the help with positioning too, I play LS and sometimes accidentally trip people. I always feel so bad because I don’t mean to, so hopefully that won’t happen as much. I also get annoyed when people flash Kushala in his whirlwind. Like, come on bow user, not all of us can hit it from afar!
Honestly, I've given up on relying on people to know positioning online, won't leave home without Flinch Free on my armor set nowadays, particularly when using Hammer and Hunting Horn. When playing with friends in a squad that's obviously a different story since you're more likely to communicate through voice chat anyway.
Actually, Flinch Free is super helpful for HH, as the recital's and encores are your most damaging attacks and should be used to deal said damage; without Flinch Free the monsters chip damage or a your teammates weak attacks will interrupt those constantly, to annoying degrees.
esche Yeah too true, but you also have to keep in mind that if yoy get stunned, you're pretty much fucked unless you get hit by an uppercut or something.
Hammer if they know what they are doing and charge their hammer R2+O then they gain flinch free without need of the skill in the armor! Learned this the hard way with all this guys coming in the head! -.-
Frantaplan Yep it's the best and sometimes a free mount. That is if they are good players. Which seems to be the point of using the skill, playing with the ones who aren't so much lol
Will definitely be taking the Life Powder one to heart. Never thought of it. All too often either I get killed or a teammate gets killed for the reasons listed in the video. Will definitely internalize that one.
Tip 10: Don't use sleep. The amount of hits you spent trying to apply sleep instead of doing more damage, and the time spent setting up the big sleep combo hit means you probably just ended up wasting more time than you saved. It makes sense when you play solo since you do less DPS and that big damage spike is much more likely to outweigh the damage lost, but in multiplayer you're doing 4 times the damage, while the spike stays the same. If you wanna do the big octo-bomb setup you can do it when the monster goes back to their nest to sleep, but if you kill it before the happens you're probably doing so much damage that setting it up wouldn't be worth it otherwise.
you mentioned it at the end but if you make a general multiplayer item loadout then edit the radial menu for general things you would communicate that makes multiplayer several times easier. messages pop right up on the screen so you can say things like, "I'm about to trap the monster" or "I'm about to put it to sleep, DON'T ATTACK". those kinda messages are super helpful especially if you aren't using voice chat and your caught up in the heat of the hunt.
Literally earlier today I was hunting Legiana when it fell asleep the greatword user got ready to strike just before he would’ve hit the monster the dual blade used came in and did a weak attack and I got pretty annoyed
I think it would have been helpful to have an optional #10 that explains Wide-Range, what items can be used with it, and it's benefits to a team. I know it's not a must have player skill, but understanding that it's an option and how it works is super helpful, since it's only useful in a team. It can completely turn the tide for a sinking party that wants to stick together, without learning how to use a HH first(not dissin', Viva La DOOT DOOT!) Battle Cleric is the least understood player class in the series. Would be great if that changed. Great Video! Thank you thankyouthankyou for making it! T-T
About the positioning: as stated yes hammers are for the head, blades for the tail. Only exception imo is the GS since it deals tons of damage plus u can reposition yourself so ur hammer bro doesnt get interrupted. Also dont spam ur wyvernfire near other peeps when they are trying to attack the monster cquse u will only knock them back thus losing adfiotional dmg in the process
Toxic Melody worst weapon in the game when it comes to tripp other people... The worst think is when im using hammer and of course many DB players believe they should hit the head, my Hammer who can stun the monster is just for show... IMO Db when playing online should hit the legs of the monster and stay away from every other parts mostly because they tripp everyone.
NotMorne Im a Ls user, trust me - if you are good you can hit anywhere and you wont hit anyone. All my friends always tell me its rare for me to hit them even during several Quests, and im hitting everywhere i want - the head, claws, wings etc. It all depends how good you are and to be on the right time on the right place.
Well as a Tank Lancer type player i have not that much of the problem except he is behind me the whole time and ruins my efforts of staying alive trying to aggro it with the special gear to aggro it
1.) 0:47 (Always bring Lifepowder) 2.) 2:03 (Hit stunned teammates) 3.) 3:07 (Look out for sleeping monsters) 4.) 4:34 (Use strong hits for wakeup) 5.) 6:42 (Look out for mounts) 6.) 7:58 (Think about where you're fighting) 7.) 8:42 (Pay attention for traps being used) 8.) 9:35 (Think about your positioning) 9.) 10:57 (Don't take all the items in the supply box)
In addition to rule number 2, Slinger ammunition will force flinches on idle team members that are stunned. You can knock the stun out by hitting someone with a slinger shot if you have damaging slinger ammunition equipped, granting you a great range of help if you have the aim and are within range with the slinger.
Number 1 is definitely not to die. Easily the most important. Other than that, I don't really care. I can hold my own so don't really need teammates to buff me. I have no problem helping others in this or other ways though. (PS, I never complain about someone hitting me. If they hit me, I move. Simple.)
Well I have Flinch Free 3 so I won't really mind much anymore, used to be very annoying guarding with my lance shield and getting knocked over before I expect a large attack.
Easy to move and hit different part of a monster if you're not using hammer especially when the monster is down and all the player rush for the head instead of cutting the tail or wings...
This a great video for beginners. I am a veteran of the series and have been playing MH for years. I started playing when only 6 weapons types where available. To me the most annoying is when people fight the monster in horrible horrible spots and end up dying because of it.
Yes but don't be that guy with a bow who shoots someone with an arrow and continues to shoot more arrows thinking he missed and then he stun locks you which defeats the whole purpose
Forgot to mention that for almost every action there is a word cue on the right side of the screen. I can't move I've set a trap I mounted the monster etc.
for the point of 'watching when monsters fall asleep' if you have the agitator perk it can actually act as a warning of a sleeping monster. even if the monster is still enraged, the moment it begins to fall asleep agitator will be disabled, giving you the pop up that states you've lost it, this can be a big warning of the monster falling asleep mid combat. however, this is situational as it does require the monster to be slept while enraged, but it can still be a viable of warning yourself of it happening, especially late game as many damage builds will be running agitator.
Alphyn Streaming SA should be roughly the same as any slashing weapon - tails and other breakable pieces are generally your priority. If you don't have a Hammer/HH/SnS user attacking the head and you're using an Exhaust phial, then going for the head once the breakables are off for getting Exhaust/KO damage is a really good idea. Otherwise, just go for the weak points for the most damage.
Alphyn Streaming switch axe is an excellent tail cutter and wing clipper. It has absurd reach, highest of all the melee weapons. And you can trip the shit out of some monster by beating up their shins worst case. If there is no hammer go for head
Another good tip: If you have 1 small slot you can put a Friendship jewel. When someone mounts, you can take a ration to fully restore their stamina so they can knock it down.
If only you could make every MH player watch this. Its common sense that just boils down to taking other people into consideration and work was a team. I love that he pointed out long sword users lol. You guys are the worst at booping everyone lol
"witness my epic samurai skills as I proceed to trip the entire team with my sweeping blade! I get 4 kills for the price of 1! (doesnt matter if I cause my teammates to get killed from the knockback, it still counts as a kill!)" is what often happens with LS noobs...
Another thing to add for the lifepowder, 3 isn't technically the true "limit", save your teamplay item loadout to carry the crafting materials so you can make it during combat. If you put life powder on the shortcut wheel, it craft a new powder to use when you run out if you are carrying the materials on you. So you'll end up having 13 lifepowders to help your team out... Needless to say, my usual teammates usually don't carry lifepowder for me :(
Worst tip ever. Receiving guildcards is annoying as fk, especially during a fight. The icon keeps blinking and it's really distracting. Only give guildcards to people you have played with, AFTER a fight.
Oh my god, thank you for mentioning the mounting monsters bit. I play a lot of Glaive and I can’t count the amount of times randoms have flashed the monster while I’m mounted.
unless you were just unlucky and got stunlocked or just died in an unfair way but if it was a fair cart just dont interfere anymore community is quite good and most of the times you dont get kicked
leintati Nah, some people just have bad days. I've seen guys who can take down TEDs in under 10 minutes get carted twice in a row by mid-tier monsters on an off day. One of the risks when you open up an SOS (or play multiplayer at all) is that your teammates will die. If you don't have the patience to deal with that, you can play solo.
Leafeon I hear you there. I have such moments. Though when I do, I stay out of the way or switch to my unkillable lance build and settle for steady dps instead of being flashy. Usually when I am the liability, I stay out of the fight especially when the monster is near death and enraged. In those moments I only stay close enough to get there in time to carve.
Also a quick tip for hunting horn mains who use horns with healing songs, sometimes its more efficient to use a life powder or a potion rather than waiting for the song to play. The amount of times where me or a teammate has fainted because the song took too long are too many to count
Someone once told me the playerbase in Japan is much more serious about the game, and it took me playing with a group that spoke some english to believe that. They explained how its common courtesy to gesture or greet with a certain sticker. Mounting a monster or cutting a tail warrants a different sticker. I love how polite most of them are, but it kinda feels more like business than pleasure playing with them.
Thank you for bringing up sleep! I use light gunbow and bow as my secondary weapon choices, for the status effects, (hunting horn main) and honestly I've stopped bothering to use sleep at this point, 9 times out of 10 either a dual blade, glaive or other bow user sees it go down and thinks its a free opening to go full ham. My only choice in those cases is to run in once the monster changes zones, sleep it then, plant bombs before anyone else gets there and hope they get the point once they arrive. That and finding people deciding to standing behind me to recover while I'm playing songs with my horn, it doesn't matter if they stand at a distance and I'm up in the monsters face I still end up in the monsters line of attack. There are many places to stand yet clearly the best choice is to put your temporarily immobilized ally between you and the monster...
6:50 a weapon ko damage knockdown is also about 2x longer than a flash a knockdown. You just get the blinding effect from the flash after(not always fun to chase blind elder dragon)
Since this is the most up to date video, if anyone is missing a gold crown for the Kulu-Ya-Ku, check the events. A special arena is available to fight a special large on that easily nets you one.
I think flashing mounted flying monsters is OK if the team is all or mostly melee. Waiting for the mounting player to topple it is a big loss in DPS as you have three players doing nothing.
The positioning tip is the reason why I use a Brace jewel or go ranged when playing with randoms. Since some players are either unaware or inconsiderate, I'll take it upon myself to ensure I get to play my part.
Note for new bow users (learned this one early from experience): Arc Shot can trip your teammates, so it's better to not use it on the head while the monster is down if anyone else on your team has KO potential. Just stuff some Power Shots in 'em from the other side of the head!
When I play with others I always use the wiggler head with decorations to max out ‘Wide Range’, and a point in free meal. Maximizes the survivability of your team.
thank you sooooooo much for including the wyvern blast in this video. out of all my hunts i only met 2 players (in a 4 man hunt) that actually tried to use every blast i placed. hopefully this will make lbg more viable for dmg in multiplayer by correctly utulizing the wyvernblast.
oh my god! I was totally not aware of the mid fight sleep thing - I play with randoms and everyone just keeps wailing at a monster that I used to think just mysteriously falls down mid fight hahaha!
The problem with this kind of video is that those who should probably watch are usually the ones who won't.
Sunbro Yeah :/
even so, watching this is a bit iffy with him explaining the same thing in 4 different ways
Sunbro yuuuuup
Sunbro some people don't really care they just want to kill some monsters😀😁😂
keep calm and listen to kpop indeed, there are lots of idiots.
Another tip:
If a teammate becomes stunned and continues to hold aggro while Incapacitated...
Dan Owen to add to this^ you can hit your stunned teammate with your slinger! Save the team and blind the monster at the same time
this actually makes me want to run challenger mantle, sometimes you might be in a bad spot to flash so it honestly sounds like a good idea to bring it sometimes
Dan Owen I always do this lol i never flash monster in sky only to save teammates
Dan Owen for real! My teams learning this
Miss Difficulty I tried this, a LOT. Unfortunately it's highly inconsistent... :(
Good points!
Kevin Lasher couldnt you just do the hammer shake into lvl1->wide swing for more damage?
If they aren't going to let me throw out my Lvl 3 on the head, they can at least help out by building up mount damage.
lmfao
“While the monster is flying, use a flash pod so you can fight it”
Me: *laughs in insect glaive*
This works until as soon as you jump the enemy charges you
Yup. ESPECIALLY if someone is mounting the monster. right guys?

I wish ppl bring at least demon drug and armor skin
i forget that they have items at the start of the quest in HR in this game
Derek Gill I kinda miss that actually. Sure, it’s nice to have items right from the start, but it’s less infuriating than some selfish motherless bastard taking more than their own share.
I always take them since they are free
:flclnoRamen:
Here's one you missed: Let the Hunting Horn player finish their Encore before starting a fight or wake up!
Honestly, online players usually are pretty nice to me when I'm using HH. At sleep, they always let me finish my Encores and wait till I get my buffs up before engaging. Probably because they know how rare a HH player is and treat him accordingly.
James Lin Trust me, this has nothing to do with being nice, people are just _really terrible_ at paying attention to their surroundings.
Sound advice for sure. I always perform the song(s) then the Encore before the fight. Always helpful.
+James Lin Hunting horn for life
Hunting... what?
EVERY PLAYER SHOULD WATCH THIS. especially the players who havent played recent games. Thank you Arrekz!
Gino Israel let’s hope. Cross ur fingers dude.
I am new to MH, and quickly learned etiquette. It's not even that hard and yet some people still do the annoying stuff. Just today, as I was putting a deviljho to sleep twice and a long sword player kept waking him and spamming triangle while I was trying my best to wyvern blast his face lol
@@lolhi5217 Just hearing the phrase "LS player waking him" makes me wince. pain.
You should have added that EZ Max Potions should REMAIN IN THE BOX until someone carts, then it is FOR THEM to regain their +50 hp after carting. You will notice there are 2 EZ Max potions in the box, NOT 4. That is not one for each, but one for each allowed cart...
OOOOOHHHHH I feel silly for not realizing that.
Stop flashing kushala inside the tornados please he'll move give it a second.
Francis Del Torto This is the most anoying thing. I'm currently farming tempered Kushala because is the one that's giving me good gems, but these people just came and flash it the exact moment it flies, falls downs and you can't hit because that stupid wind.
I agree 100%! It’s the most frustrating thing I regularly have to deal with.
James Lin No, it’s a problem for most melee weapon users.
I was just about to comment on the same thing it's infuriating when people flash Kushala while it's in the tornado
I usually bring the Xeno HH when I fight Kushala, so I'll flash in them tornadoes without a second thought
Unless it's the thick tornado. *&%! that
“One to many hits and gets stunned” me: gets hit by teostra once gets stunned and he does his explosion
I understand your pain
This kills the man
I was literally about to say this. I swear about 3/4 of the time I get carted in this game is when the monster gets a lucky stun and I can't do anything about it. I don't know where he's getting this "hit too many times" thing, but that's not been my experience AT ALL. I've been slotting in Steadfast Jewels religiously .
Stun resistance is sooo good for teo, especially solo
That happened to me once. Promptly turned off MHW for the rest of the day.
The other common occurrence is being stunned one good hit away from death.
It's why I carry max Stun Resist for my builds.
That said it doesn't help when you latch onto the Teostra with your Switch Axe as it flies up to explode. >.>
I've been telling people not to flash pod mounts and every time I post it somewhere I get a ton of dislikes or downvotes. Glad that you put it in this video so I can bring it up next time someone who "only listens to youtubers" say what I'm recommending is foolish

While I didn't really mind, he might have felt bad about it (I know I would :p)
So, help your team, but stay aware of your surroundings though.
The majority of this is exactly why I hunt solo. Especially the sleeping monster thing.
Too many people want to be the damn hero instead of working with the team.
Undernet same here
Undernet as a bow user i constantly spam a custom phrase saying "I'm going to sleep it"! But somewhere...a dagger man does demon dance...😧
Akin H I main bow so I know that feel all too well.

Akin H too true i made a custom phrase saying the same thing but i use the LBG, i find even with the custom phrase people just don't care.
Oh yes! Thank you so much for etiquette video!! Happy hunting all!
Some of these were very insightful. Some things I'd like to add;
1.similar to the one about life powder, if a team mate runs over to you in between fights and they start chugging a drink, ie demon drug or armor skin, don't run off.
Spend the time to get that extra dps in, instead of hoping to get a carve in without getting aggro by the monster."
Is the worst advice you can give.
Don't listen to this child. Carve that tail mid-fight IF you have the time for it.
and for the last fcking time dont wake the monster up with your fucking dual blades when there is a great sword user on your team
or hammer user
I usually solo or duo with with my one friend that also likes this game, he uses a variety of things and I main both lances. I know it’s fixed and the bombs prob wake it up anyway but we both agree there’s something so satisfying about waking up a monster with a bomb headache set off by wyverns fire

It always has been this way but this time around we have even more noobs ruining the game
Feircy and thats why you dont play with randoms
I didnt even start to play with them back in tri in order to keep my sanity
"Ruining the game." BRAH. If new people don't buy the game, you don't get a sequel. Take your elitism and shove it. You weren't perfect when you started playing either.
Not knocking your team down, using lifepowders and simply not leaving after a single death~
MyEvilTaco there's a special place in hell for people who leave after one death!
Mike Bliss
And they stack with demon drugs and armor potions that now last till death
Yup that is the real reason why I always try to bring em!! BUFFS BUFFS BUFFS!!!!
Most players are on the end game already with full equips and augments. There isnt hard monster to fully prepare for except for the temp deviljho.
Tony Noviello demon powder last till death?? Since when? I sworn i watched some vid stating they dont. Just asking sir.
Definitly some good pointers, I do as much of these that I can when online. Hopefully others will see this and it'll help the community!

Hammer send me flying every quest.
Hopefully most people want to get better and find this video.

stanley malone welcome to the best game series ever
yeah, ive made a custom shout-out for the monster being ready to capture because it's rediculous. the SoS system is cool but I think it's causing people to just rush into a quest without looking at what it is.

Same
This should be implemented in the loading screen when joining a session. Or just replace the tedious bits the Handler uses to babble on about.
6:59
"I mounted the monster!"
*It gets flashed, ruining the mount*
"GODDAMMIT!"
I know those moments xD
If I had a dollar for every time someone flashed the monster...
Why is flashing so bad? Usually provides an opening or stops an attack
Melan Choly a ok was a bit confused about that.
Yes that is super anoying.
Bring screamer pods to diablos / black diablos fights.
And bring out lavasiot/jyuratodus
don't listen to this chump, clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.
LOL
Downwards Weaboo slash FTW
Lmao I like it!
Sounds like my kinda way to play
Just add a disclaimer to the end of this comment.
Mine is permanently slotted into my armor!
It can completely turn the tide for a sinking party that wants to stick together, without learning how to use a HH first(not dissin', Viva La DOOT DOOT!)
Battle Cleric is the least understood player class in the series. Would be great if that changed.
Great Video! Thank you thankyouthankyou for making it! T-T
If only watching this video was required to play the game
About the positioning: as stated yes hammers are for the head, blades for the tail. Only exception imo is the GS since it deals tons of damage plus u can reposition yourself so ur hammer bro doesnt get interrupted. Also dont spam ur wyvernfire near other peeps when they are trying to attack the monster cquse u will only knock them back thus losing adfiotional dmg in the process
I always get tripped up by Dual Blade users
Toxic Melody worst weapon in the game when it comes to tripp other people... The worst think is when im using hammer and of course many DB players believe they should hit the head, my Hammer who can stun the monster is just for show... IMO Db when playing online should hit the legs of the monster and stay away from every other parts mostly because they tripp everyone.
Szini50
They're a lot of new players so they may not know these things sadly
Toxic Melody and those annoying longsword users... hit the damn tail and stop tripping teammates!!!!
Well as a Tank Lancer type player i have not that much of the problem except he is behind me the whole time and ruins my efforts of staying alive trying to aggro it with the special gear to aggro it
1.) 0:47 (Always bring Lifepowder)
2.) 2:03 (Hit stunned teammates)
3.) 3:07 (Look out for sleeping monsters)
4.) 4:34 (Use strong hits for wakeup)
5.) 6:42 (Look out for mounts)
6.) 7:58 (Think about where you're fighting)
7.) 8:42 (Pay attention for traps being used)
8.) 9:35 (Think about your positioning)
9.) 10:57 (Don't take all the items in the supply box)
this need to be translated into every languages and send to every player
You are quickly becoming my favorite TH-camr for everything MHW thanks for the video.
Getting carted from a stun is so frustrating! I try to wear steadfast deco's at all times or equip my palico with the horn.
Simple.)
That's not etiquette, that's how you play the damn game.
Well I have Flinch Free 3 so I won't really mind much anymore, used to be very annoying guarding with my lance shield and getting knocked over before I expect a large attack.
the worst thing ever is when you go to counter a monster's attack then a teammate triggers it then you get hit.
Is it possible to knock a teammate out of being stunned with a ranged weapon?
Yes
Yes but don't be that guy with a bow who shoots someone with an arrow and continues to shoot more arrows thinking he missed and then he stun locks you which defeats the whole purpose
Yep. Do it all the time with the LBG when I'm responding to SOS flares. Saved a lot of people from getting killed.
As a LBG user, this is good to know
You can use the slinger, too
THANK YOU ARREKZ!! YOUR DOING THE MH COMMUNITY A GREAT SERVICE!! AREEEEEEEEEEEKZ GAMING FOR LIFE!!!
Forgot to mention that for almost every action there is a word cue on the right side of the screen.
I can't move
I've set a trap
I mounted the monster etc.
for the point of 'watching when monsters fall asleep' if you have the agitator perk it can actually act as a warning of a sleeping monster. even if the monster is still enraged, the moment it begins to fall asleep agitator will be disabled, giving you the pop up that states you've lost it, this can be a big warning of the monster falling asleep mid combat. however, this is situational as it does require the monster to be slept while enraged, but it can still be a viable of warning yourself of it happening, especially late game as many damage builds will be running agitator.
What would switch axe be good at??? XD I usually just go for the tail or head
If the head is occupied, go for the tail. Alternatively, wild swinging at the legs is a great way to trip up monsters. It's where I usually go.
Alphyn Streaming It's slashing dmg so go for the tail, try to land the zero sums anywhere since their explosive dmg which ignores weaknesses and armor
Sword mode rarely if ever bounces, great for focusing any armored points and creating more soft spots for the team.
I got stung by a hornet in bed this morning. It's safe to say that bastard did double damage.
Can someone explain me what is happening in the thumbnail? XD
lorenzo vanzolini No
lorenzo vanzolini female charge blade user is blocking an attack, no idea what the samurai guy is doing, location: elder’s recess
Looks like he is booking it away from an attack lol
Another thing to add for the lifepowder, 3 isn't technically the true "limit", save your teamplay item loadout to carry the crafting materials so you can make it during combat. If you put life powder on the shortcut wheel, it craft a new powder to use when you run out if you are carrying the materials on you.
So you'll end up having 13 lifepowders to help your team out... Needless to say, my usual teammates usually don't carry lifepowder for me :(
One thing I'd like to add:
Unless you dropped into a SOS hunt, please greet your session mates,AND GIVE THEM YOUR GUILD CARD.
that's a thing? that's why my guild card list is full now. I'm tired of deleting them. capcom needs to let me delete more than one at a time
What's the big deal about guild cards?
Worst tip ever. Receiving guildcards is annoying as fk, especially during a fight. The icon keeps blinking and it's really distracting. Only give guildcards to people you have played with, AFTER a fight.
Oh my god, thank you for mentioning the mounting monsters bit. I play a lot of Glaive and I can’t count the amount of times randoms have flashed the monster while I’m mounted.
If you get carted twice in a row, take the hint you are out of your league and a liability. Stay at camp.
unless you were just unlucky and got stunlocked or just died in an unfair way but if it was a fair cart just dont interfere anymore community is quite good and most of the times you dont get kicked
leintati Nah, some people just have bad days. I've seen guys who can take down TEDs in under 10 minutes get carted twice in a row by mid-tier monsters on an off day. One of the risks when you open up an SOS (or play multiplayer at all) is that your teammates will die. If you don't have the patience to deal with that, you can play solo.
can someone be kicked from the quest? i never knew
Harsh... but logical tho
When a teammate is mounted, is a slinger ammo that staggers to speed up the mount mini game
I love that part when everyone is watching waiting for him to attack the pink rathian sleeping
Definitely sending this to my squad. A lot of them who havent played the older ganes dont seem to understand some of these points.
6:50 a weapon ko damage knockdown is also about 2x longer than a flash a knockdown. You just get the blinding effect from the flash after(not always fun to chase blind elder dragon)
Thank you for the video. I hope the people that watched this actually take these tips to heart and use them during hunts.
This is a must need video for Monster Hunter world this should be posted everywhere!!
Great vid. Play mostly solo so can be unaware of the things mentioned in the video except for no.9. Thumbs up.
Great video Arekkz gaming. This video about etiquette is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
Thank for the lifepowder tipp!! I didnt know that
Since this is the most up to date video, if anyone is missing a gold crown for the Kulu-Ya-Ku, check the events. A special arena is available to fight a special large on that easily nets you one.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!!!!! I've been very frustrated with a lot of people lately!
Always happy to see your videos
I think flashing mounted flying monsters is OK if the team is all or mostly melee. Waiting for the mounting player to topple it is a big loss in DPS as you have three players doing nothing.
The positioning tip is the reason why I use a Brace jewel or go ranged when playing with randoms. Since some players are either unaware or inconsiderate, I'll take it upon myself to ensure I get to play my part.
"Moving on to Number 8: Know Your Place."
Thank you, Arekkz! Good advice! -HH and Hammer Users, also most vets in general =p
The Life Powder makes so much sense, since you also DON´T WANT a teammate to die since it reduces the continues, hence making the quest fail.
Note for new bow users (learned this one early from experience): Arc Shot can trip your teammates, so it's better to not use it on the head while the monster is down if anyone else on your team has KO potential. Just stuff some Power Shots in 'em from the other side of the head!
If you don’t want to use life powder, a good substitute is the skill Wide Range, which can be found on multiple armors.
a good one to add to this would be to not leave if you faint once, it just leaves the monster in a powered up state for others to handle.
