Sharing the prices would’ve helped
Congrats! I would maybe think about making the "living room" area into the bedroom and the "bedroom" area into the living room! You'll probably spend more time in the living area and you'll have all that natural light in there too. Your bedroom will be darker but you probably spend less time in there. Just an idea!
That's such a good idea! Especially if she has a desk and is working then that could go near the window to give lots of natural light during the working day.

So exciting that you’re apartment hunting! I love the fireplace in the first apartment! I can’t believe a 200 sq ft apartment is $2500 😱 that’s insane to me hahah
haha i know i always have to preface it and say "i know this sounds crazy but..."
I like apartment 3. I thought you would choose it. There's so much that you can do to create the 'feel' of natural light through many means. Plus, you have separate spaces for different activities.

Ooh, looking at new living spaces is so fun ! It's such an exciting time and envisioning the possibilities for each space is so much fun. The fact that you got Apt. #3 so seamlessly seems to me as if it was written in the cards for you.

i honestly love the bright blue tile in apartment number two! i feel like it stands out!
same i love the colorful bathrooms in some of the older units!
Me too that really stood out to me!
my fav was apartment 1 cause i like a challenge lol but for apartment 3 if you worried about lighting, I would switch the "bedroom" and "living room" since all you really need for a bedroom is to sleep and you could do most of your "living" in the bigger room with lighting
yes agreed apartment 1 could be super cute if set up in a space saving way!

Yes to natural light! The prices in NYC reminded me of the here in the Bay Area 😅 congrats on getting a new apartment and on your first application! So excited for you!

Totally agree on the natural light, and even the view. I think they are more important than size to me. I was in a townhouse by myself in the dc suburb and there where neighbors all around I had to keep my curtains closed for privacy. Very depressing especially if you work from home. I then moved to a 325 square feet studio condo in DC, it has a big window almost as wide as the wall. It faces the south and it’s an open view, no one can see me so I keep my blinds open 247. The condo is probably a fifth of the size but I’m so much happier here.

This was really fun and nice to watch! I'm planning to move to NY when I finish my bachelor's degree for RN. I definitely would love to see a video on how to get a strong apartment application for future reference! It definitely sounds crazy that 70+ people wanted to view the apartment that you got, too, it seems intimidating lol

Just a crazy thought, since excellent light in bedroom, have you thought about making it your living room, work area/vanity area to do your makeup with natural light. Make living room for bed area, maybe you could put screen to block off bed, make it dark and cozy for sleeping. I did that when I lived in a studio. Then you would have kinda a hall way and bed area would be private and not noticed or slim book shelves that would block off bed and would be valuable for storing bins to hide your stuff. Just a thought worth sharing. Sure you will come up with an amazing idea. Have fun decorating your space. Enjoy

I just moved to San Antonio and I got my very first apartment by myself. Now, I’m addicted to apartment hunting videos in NY or the Northeast now that my apartment hunting is over.

apt 3 was my fave as well and congrats on getting the one you wanted! I think if you want more light in the living space, you could always switch the bedroom/living area around but congrats again!

Such a fun video! It's crazy being in the Midwest and seeing the NYC prices but tbh 2500 isn't as bad as I would expect with how things are there right now. Also, I would guess 3 but the lack of natural light gave me pause... so 2!

We have a 2 bedroom 2 bath home with an office, pool and huge backyard in Phx and we only pay $1400 a month! Holy crap. I think your answer is to move to Arizona!!

I live in NYC too but why didn't you look at high rises if your budget was $2500. Door man, amenities, etc but congrats on the new spot

I find it a bit sad and shocking that people consider it a huge win if they manage to even rent a place in NYC because the competition is so stiff and buying is simply not possible for most.

So, what do you all do when it’s time to retire? I am figuring paying out that much money every month will limit the amount you would be able to save to be able to either buy a home or have money to retire one day. I know you are still young but just curious😊

MDR, je ne sais pas pourquoi j'ai regardé cette vidéo. 2.500 pour le loyer. La vache! Tout est de plus en plus cher. Est-ce que tu as peur qu'il va beaucoup augmenter le loyer, surtout en New York? J'ai regardé les informations à la télévision hier où cette personne devait démémager apès le loyer a subitement augmenté de 2.500 à 4.000 par mois. C'est fou, j'ai la chair de poule!
