In todays video we get hands on... or shall I say.. Fingers On with Resin Art fingerprint jewelry!
I had to try this after reading your suggestions and ideas and I really love how these Resin Art Jewelry pieces came out!

Hi, do you think I could have my son send me his fingerprints on a piece of paper or something else so that I could transfer his print to a matt? I am thinking, a person could dust a minimal amount of mica on the print.
He lives in Germany and I am in the USA.
It's for my Mom & I don't know why It's not curing & gooey

Watching now but wanted to mention that when my mother passed, they put her thumbprint on a necklace pendant for me (as part of the funeral/memorial package from the funeral home), and it is one of my most cherished possessions. Seeing this idea on your channel makes me excited! I want my son's fingerprint... my boyfriend... everyone (lol) so that I can preserve a piece of them forever no matter what. Thank you for sharing this!!

Same! I've used a label maker to print my husband's fingerprints and then embedded the clear labels into resin as pendants and I even made myself a ring! It's helping the tiniest bit but I'm so glad funeral homes do this now!

6:20 I think this is a cute idea to merge fingerprints with your partner into the heart shape.
After watching your masking tape video I made some earrings using burlap. They turned out pretty good. I just used plain and then coated them with a modpodge type stuff, both worked. I love all the ideas you come up with!

I have my son’s fingerprint in a silver pendant they sent moulding putty for it which was mailed back. This is just so brilliant Prof Dan 👍🏻♥️👍🏻
just finished watching! These are so precious! I love it. Definitely going to utilize this method in the near future. I hope to visit my son in a few months (we are 1000 miles apart) so I will DEFINITELY at the very least get his fingerprint(s) when I'm there!

I’ve done this with my granddaughter, a present for her dad for Father’s Day. I done the whole 2 hand print in a tray, I never thought about doing it in jewellery before. Great idea thank you Daniel 😊

Sorry if it's a morbid thought, but this could be used to quickly identify your body in case you die in circumstances that leave it unrecognizable. A DNA test would still be important, but this could help police and medical examiners.
Cool idea. I think of you were going to use them for identification purposes or wanted them to be extra clear I'd make sure to do them on the shiny side of the mat.
Sounds great. However I don't have any. (Don't ask how I found out) I wonder whose I could use?
LOVE the heart, but not the clarity.😥 So, there IS a way of achieving the same clarity as the circle! I won't even charge for my secret! 😃🤣 All you have to do is place the fingerprint on the silicon mat, but instead of dropping the resin on the print to form the circle, place an open heart bezel (or any shape actually) on top of the fingerprint and pour! The only issue is that you have to make sure that the bezel won't slide around. And then you have your perfectly clear 🤍🖤!!!
I tend to leave way too many fingerprints in my work as is, but not in a good way. I think this could be a smash hit on a craft fair. People would love getting something really personalized, if you could make them on the spot somehow. Maybe with those affordable pendant blanks. Would the fingerprint stick on cured resin, or is it too slippery. If you'd make premade pendant blanks with a thin layer of black already on them, and maybe even fitting cabuchons with clear, then you could just ask people to press their finger on the black resin surface, add some clear resin, the cabuchon and cure everything together.
100% The lamp is portable too, it can be done onto the resin but ideally the resin would need to be tacky but then that's not 100% safe, this is the safest way I think 😊

Oh, this is just fantastic! What an amazing idea. Thank you for experimenting for us and explaining it so well 😁.
If sending it to distant relatives, they should be able to put a wide piece of packing tape over the fingerprint on the silicone to protect it. Then when they send it back to you, you just peel the tape off the silicone, and put a thin blob of black (or other backing color) on top of the print (now stuck to the tape), cure it and peel the tape off, and dome it with clear resin. You'd want very smooth tape, of course, unless you want a textured look?
Keepsakes are my thing! Wonder if this could be done with a pet paw 🤔, one toe maybe. I may have to try it 😁. Please keep going with the texture series.
I could see doing this for paw prints as well, maybe memorial pieces...

This is an amazing idea. I've seen them done with handprints of kids in a coaster but that's about it. You open door ways for lots of ideas. I'd love to try this with my kids to make a pendant. Another great video and thanks for the inspiration ❤

I like the visual effect, but I’m a suspicious old lady and be worried about someone getting ahold of my finger print and using it for nefarious purpose.
Looks lovely though, particularly like the heart idea, would be a sweet memento if you and your partner contributed to each half of the heart.

Finally some way to use all the mica powder I have gotten over the past couple months, as I felt I didn't have enough variety... still don't, but still... On my list of things to get is the lamp, as the one I have now is good for certain things, but have to do it in layers or else it warps badly. Am also thinking as I do small shows, I can do the fingerprint on the spot for customers too.

HELP!! UM NEWBIE! I'm trying to do a Fingerprint with gold chameleon powder on Silicone Mat. Im using A Uv Resin & Light, but it was Gooey underneath my resin?? Does anybody know why?
Hi, it could be that the chameleon powder is not allowing the uv resin to cure through, try holding the light under the silicone mat and curing from underneath before lifting off, either that or your mat isn't transparent enough.

Hi Daniel! On searching for premixed black UV resin for this video I came across something on Amazon that I have never seen before in four years of resin craft. It could be just that I have been hiding under a rock of course!!!! UV resin pens. I am just wondering if you’ve done any tutorials on them. Hang onto your horses, as they had glitter in, so they may not be your favourite thing, but I am dying to try some 🤩🤩
They come in four colour palletes - gold/silver, reds, blues and greens

I wonder if you could cure a thin layer of black resin into a bezel, put your fingerprint onto the black, then dome with clear.
The bezel would have a bale , so no need to drill.
I did this with the tape they sell for bezels. I used mica powder directly on the tape after applying bezel. I did apply thin coats of black, then dome with clear. Problem I think for me is the mica powder. I can see print but more so if I'm tilting it around. I need to know what kind of nail powder Daniel used. Maybe more reflective.
