In todays Resin Art video we experiment with builder gel to make Tahitian Pearls AKA Black Pearls!
This resin art technique has already blown up online with well over 2 Million views and growing rapidly on multiple platforms! It has attracted both positive and negative criticism!.... We are all entitled to opinions but please keep the comments and replies kind!
This UV curing resin clay has soooo much potential for us resin artists! It's incredible! Can you imagine how many resin pearls we could make just from one pot! Serious ££$$ can be made with this!
The results are so close to the real pearls and this makes it more affordable for us to create stunning jewelry.... Just please.... do not use this for evil! DO NOT MAKE AND SELL AS REAL PEARLS!

If someone asks are they real, well yes they are, they are pearl ish jewels. My build a gel just came and I am so excited to start with pearls and move on to other things. I went on You Tube and started searching for wire wrapped earrings. You can cure it with a piece of wire in it, ready to wrap on jewelry.

You've got to quit worrying about something being done before. A bunch of people can do the same thing, but each do it in their own way. You have amazing ideas, you often make things much simpler and always make it fun and easy to understand. I love all of your creations!

I love this idea. I used to do oyster-opening videos on FB. If we had a black that looked like the green we called it an oil slick, one similar to the lime we called a black teal, the blue we called a blurple, and one like fushia but with less gold we called a cranberry, and the violet we called a black cherry.
They were my favorite pearls to open until I opened a blue one. 💙

As a jeweler I can say, very nice work! Pearls are never perfectly round. Don't worry, any pearl buyer with a tiny amount of knowledge would know these are faux. So, no worries there. These are fantastic!

Daniel, I appreciate your Captain Jack Sparrow imitation. After all, Captain Jack was an imitation of a Disneyland/Disney world ride! Needless to say it and the Haunted Mansion are my 2 favorite rides!😂😂😂. But, when you introduced black pearls, it reminded me of the only Gillian's Island episode that the scheme to get off of the island wasn't flubbed by Gillian. 😂😂😂.

They came out stunning. Love the shout-out for Little Windows. I think they have awesome epoxy resin. It's fantastic for small pieces but I have made trinket boxes with Little Windows as well. Thanks for the video
One possibility… You could make the pearls and insert a toothpick shaped silicone stick that will serve 2 purposes. A handle for working with the pearls and when removed, it will create the hole so you don’t have to drill it out later.

I love it! ❤ 🎉 It looks like a rainbow hematite more than a black pearl. While disclaimers are appropriate especially if just selling online, any person with minimal experience with either of these would know that they’re faux. Hematite is heavy and cold and the pearl is a bit more glossy and blended in color. Did you know that if you scratch softly a pearl with your teeth you’ll find that it’s very rough? That’s one way to check.

A real pearl’s nacre (surface) is made up of several layers which is what gives them that pearlescent/iridescent effect so you layering these creates a perfect replica 👏🏻

These are stunning , so beautiful , so many options to make items with this effect. It hard not to worry or feel as if being plagiaristic, but that’s not correct as an amazing artist you will always evolve the idea to a you new level . Thanks for this awesome tutorial! I tried this today with a (baked) polymer clay base, since that was what I had on hand. It works just fine, but you have to cover the polymer bead first with one layer of the resin before applying the powder. I tried black and white clay - there wasn't much difference, but you see the little flaws less if you have the black underneath especially when you only do one layer with the chameleon powder.

You are really having fun with these videos. I love them and have learned so much. I have only been doing resin for a couple months. Started out with UV then last weekend did my first 2-part pour. Tried the Petri and it turned out thanks to your video. Still need to work on the colors but overall pleased. I can't wait to try this technique as well. The only downside to watching all of your videos is that after I end up buying more stuff! lol Yes, I ordered the nail builder and am looking at the caps. :) I have all the rest already
