Think i mentioned it before but i really recommend the Darth Plagueis book. the timeline overlaps with the phantom menace and is a great back story to Palpatine. Also The Darth Bane trilogy.
I think i will try attack of the clones now you recommended it, i thought it would be awful.

I loved the Attack of the Clones novel - a lot of the dialogue that might come across slightly awkward has added context and is fleshed out, so a lot of the character interactions and relationship development feels more natural!

Most of these are on my TBR. I do have to say, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is one of my favorite books. I am always looking for that kind of feeling of OTHER that was so pervasive in that story. I have been able to find a couple books that do something similar, but nothing close to that well

I read The Poppy War in 2020 and it was so good! I’m currently reading The Dragon Republic.

I’ve always been interested in the Shakespeare Star Wars books but had never seen someone talk about them before and wasn’t sure if they’d just come across silly. Maybe I need to get my hands on them. 🤔

They can be silly in places, but overall I enjoy them a ton, the Shakespearean language actually complements the stories a lot!

I love best-of lists and so enjoyed hearing yours. Cloud Atlas and The Bear and the Nightingale are both books I'd love to get to, but yup, still too scared to read A Little Life! And we were so sad about Xmas, but really happy we did see you last week. Hope you're doing great.

A Little Life was really intense, I was quite taken aback but how much it affected me, but I don’t think you can be prepared enough for a reading experience like that. I do see you having a better experience with Cloud Atlas and The Bear and the Nightingale, for sure. Was really glad to see you last week as well, and again thanks for the lovely Xmas gifts! 😊

Yes read The Starless Sea, highly recommend if you want a trippy experience ^^ I loved The Bear and the Nightingale, but I also encourage just reading books you really want to read of course. For you in particular I would highly recommend the Shakespeare’s Star Wars books! 😊
