- Is our LANDCRUISER 70 Series OVERWEIGHT (over GVM) since we added the ROOF TOP TENT and can we still tow or have we gone over our GCM. We discuss the weight of our Toyota 79 Series Landcruiser and how to save weight by ditching a few unnecessary accessories. We also answer a question we had about the bedding and if we can leave it in the Drifta Roof Top Tent when we close it down. Adding the roof top tent is part of our preparations to Travel Australia just with our Landcruiser on Roof Top Tent Adventures. Have you tried just taking the pillows out and leaving the donna inside the roof topper. ???
No not yet, might give that a try, plus we do have a thinner doona we might try. Cheers 👍😊
Midwest 79 here how mutch water are you carrying cheers .
We have a 40L water tank fitted underneath, which we had filled up when we weighed. We also have an empty 20L container and 2X 10L containers ready to fill up when we need to 👍

With your ball weight , if it’s about 8/10% it looks like you might have a hundred left well done, only question would be the weight on back axle.

Thank you… we think we are within the guidelines for the rear axle being maximum of 2300kg. We haven’t overloaded and are trying to go as minimalistic as possible. Thanks for watching 👍
that with both of you in, full fuel/water ? did ya add ball weight of caravan on GVM ?? Back seat for Pillows and Duna :-) ya gonna need a mattress topper with that RTT :-)
Yes weight was with us, fuel and water. GVM was without tow ball weight, so when we’re towing we will need to add 180 to GVM…so we are still within the legal limits 👍
