Yep, biggest reason I’m going AT4Ws since I need new tires in 1-2 months. I’m at a complete loss at why BFG isn’t releasing their C-rated 265/70/17s until 08/2025 lol.
Sticking with KO2’s in a 315. Lifted it at 30k miles, so the tires grew and just put the third set on a JKU 5-6k miles ago. Jeep has 160k miles, minus the 30k OEM tires, I’ve averaged 62,500 miles out of a AT tire almost 35”. Have yet try the Falken ATVs, but I’ve gotten half the mileage on other major brand AT tires. I did run a set of Falken AZENIS on the Mustang and they were ok, not Michelin Sport Cup good but ok.
AT4W is what I bought and I am extremely happy with them. Quiet on the road and great in wet weather. I haven’t tried them in snow yet but I expect them to be awesome this winter.
Im confused. If the Falkens are better in rain and snow, on paper have longer tread life and you drive mostly on road, wouldn't that be the better tire?
@@davidwethington9320 I think they had to give pity points to the BFGs or else they wouldn’t have won a single category and made for a bad video for them
The Falkens rock in the rain and snow and being in the north west, any vehicle I get, I try to replace with them asap. Driving through snow and rain has never felt better.
Well I did notice they rated the KO3 better as far as road noise and such. If you were paying attention, they actually both wore at the same rate and yes on paper the mileage warranty is better but good luck getting Falken to honor the mileage warranty unless you get your tires rotated exactly on the dot every 5k miles at a tire shop lol. That being said I’m still buying the AT4Ws 🤙🏻
Looks like the overwhelming majority prefer the Wildpeak AT4W. Same here, got a set of AT4W for my Rover since early April and I have very happy with them!
Just bought the falkens. I had the ko3 and got rid of them before 35k miles. They performed good in the snow and mud but horrible in the rain. I had falkens on my wife's highlander and they performed well all around so well how they perform on a truck.
Yeah, Falken is a lot better in the rain -- but K03 is a lot better in the snow and mud. So overall, if your not driving in the snow-mud often, the Falken's are the better choice. Falken's usually balance better, for better on road performance, and are cheaper as well. But again, if a person is driving a lot in the snow - the K03 is the better choice.
I've had KO2s on several vehicles and was never happy with their wet performance. When the KO3s came out, I read that the wet performance had improved, so I had them installed on another vehicle. I did not notice any better wet handling...in fact there was quite a bit of hydroplaning in heavy rain at highway speeds. I will be trying the AT4W on a new vehicle soon.
Lifelong BFG fanboy here....until I decided to purchase Falken Wildpeak ATW 4's for my 2015 F150....I have switched from KO3's and Falken beats them across the board....they are smoother, less noisy...better in rain...mud...Overall better product....and bit cheaper.
I’ve had bfg. And yes it was the ko2s but they suck in the rain when only worn like 30%. The falkens. I’ve had almost 40,000 miles and still work great in the rain.
I would recommend the Falkens over the BFGoodrich every time! Had issues with balancing with the KO2 and they were the worst for wet weather traction in the wet PNW. Warranty was excellent with the BFGoodrich, has the looks and off road traction of a great all terrain tire but ended up going back to the Falken Wildpeak.
I’ve had Falken at3 and bfg.. and also the general grabber atx and I really have liked all 3 .. they all have done what I need in a tire, pretty much same as you 90% on and 10% off road . The grabbers I’ve actually been very impressed with .
@@Jc6fe the falken at3 wore a little more quickly and I’ve been told they are being phased out, though I don’t know that for sure. The BFG is always a good choice but I personally have been very happy with the general grabbers. And for the price point I lean towards them.
@@Apcrawlerthank you for your reply. I appreciate it. I’m going to contact my local tire guy and get some price comparisons. The grabber is also 4 pounds lighter. I’m excited to try them
I'll be the contrarian and say that yes I do like the look of the AT4W over the KO3. Not a fan of the sidewall on the KO. But I'd drive either tire happily.
I've had at least 1 set of BFG's on any 4x4 ive ever had. CJ7, TJ unlimited, 79 Bronco, 72 bronco with a fiberglass body, 1953 Dodge M37CDN, and now a 2014 F250 extended cab, long box. Dry pavement was always pretty low on my tire performance list. Wet, snow, ice, gravel, dirt, mud, then sand were where i prioritised performance. BFG's were always at the top of tire offerings at the time. It wasnt until i tried Duratracs that i discovered a significant leap had been made in many of my top terrain conditions. Only the Duratracs just were not nearly as tough or long wearing by comparison. I took off KO2's and put AT4Ws on the F250 and had that same feeling as the Duratracs, only these felt just as strong and tough as the BFGs. We just had a mixed dump of snow over the last 36 hours, with the temperature changing the quality of the falling, and landed snow over that period. Fluff, wet, slush, packed, ice mix, black ice, and drifting. The Falkens in their load E, heavy duty configuration really gripped well. 730km unloaded, and 553km pulling a 16' trailer with a 4100lb tractor on it through those conditions at highway speeds, paved and unpaved roads, and through a couple semi frozen fields where a layer of mud and wet gras is laying over hard frozen earth. I felt the truck was planted, no surprises, and completely under control the whole time. Dare I say anticlimactic, even during the continuing weather conditions. We will see how they do over a year's worth of terrain and weather conditions, but they sure have been fantastic on first impression.
I've run both of these tyres on my Mitsubishi Triton (L200). I'll never use Ko3's again. Wildpeaks have FAR superior on-road grip in both wet and dry conditions.
My Wildpeaks have +70k miles on them and still have usable tread! Will get the same tires because they were great in last year's snowstorm and that longevity can't be beat!
I live in an area of high rainfall. Wildpeak are by far the best wet weather tyre I have ever owned. They’re not the longest lasting tyre but I don’t care. I will buy them again.
Got the AT4Ws to replace the KM3s that were on the Jeep Diesel that I just bought in 37x12.5. I don’t know about the KO3s but so far these AT4Ws have been amazing. First, they are way quieter then the KM3s (I know one is a mud tire the other is an AT), but still, the KMs were loud for a tire with less than 20000 miles (I bought the care with 21k miles so I’m guessing). I took them on a trail here in AZ and never left 4H. I think the AT4Ws and the Wrangler Diesel are a perfect match.
So the AT4W is better in performance but you gave the win to KO3? And also the AT4W warranty is longer but you gave the win to KO3? Seems as though the KO3 got two pity points and got demolished head to head? Still a great tire but seems as though it actually only maybe scored one point on your guys head to head scale?
My size KO3 were not yet ready to replace my worn KO2’s. I saw the new Goodyear Duratrac RT’s had the tougher sidewall and new tread and siping. They seem to work very well. A bit more aggressive than I need in the off road, but there is a lot of rain and snow around these parts and they should work fine.
Replaced my Atturo Trailblade XT’s w/ AT4’s after the Atturo were horribly gator backed after 40k mi. Glad i made the switch! Quieter, more confident turning, better mileage, look great! 33’s On a leveled ‘20 F-150.
this was a great video! ive been running Ko2s for a long time, decided to give at3s a shot. But damn you aint joking, they are heavy and you can definitely feel it driving. I have a full-size truck btw
I have a 4 runner withe new at4’s and a Tacoma with ko3’s I love them both! I think the at4’s work better for the 4 runner. You can’t go wrong with either.
When I bought my first set of radial TA’s I thought I was driving a race car. The handling was amazing. I’ve never owned a BFGoodrich or any other off-road tire. I own a 2015 Chevy Silverado and I’m more concerned about Ride and quiet. That’s why I run Michelin‘s.
I love the performance of my KO2's but they have one major flaw. They don't balance out for crap! Talked to 2 or 3 different tire shops, one of which a BFG certified dealer and they all said the same thing! "The KO's area crap shoot. Sometimes you'll get lucky and but a full set that balances out well, but most of the time you'll have 1 or 2 in the set that just will not balance". So my questions are 1: Has BFG fixed this defect for the KO3s 2: Do the Faulkens have a similar issue or do they typically balance out well?
Thank you very much for the straight forward no BS review. Been running KO2s for multiple vehicles for many years now but they've always compromised on the wet/snow performance especially on icy highway. I think i'll join the the AT4W gang for a bit and test them out. The KO3s do look pretty nice as always!
Well a heads up They changed the compound for the new KO3s I have been running a few months now in Buffalo NY. Have had absolutely zero issues in rain and I’ve driven hard in wet and rain to test. Nothing like the KO2s. Much softer. They have some noise when driving slower but not that noticeable. My wife’s notices everything and didn’t say a word. These are just my opinions though nothing is fact. Just my thoughts!
@@jeffkonst25 Yeah, BFG did change the K03's. Its a shame the reputation is probably not going to change with wet performance, until more people get to test the "new" version of the K03's.
My boss got 120k out of the last set of KO2s on his Canyon. My Silverado had 75k on a set when traded in and had at least another 20k of useable tread left. I’m trying to burn the factory Goodyears off my ‘24 Canyon AT4 so I can get some KO3s on it. I live in New England and I honestly don’t understand how people say the BFG isn’t good in the wet.
It's easy to understand....I had KO3's on my 2015 F150 and if I leave it in a 2WD on a rainy day, especially if it rains heavy....my truck would slip and slide...not with ATW4's...very, very good tire..it beats KO3's in every single aspect. I get better MPG...not by much, but still better....Truck rolls smoother...they are less noisy...cheaper...didn't get a chance to test them in heavy mud, but they perform better un sand that KO3's....and I was a lifelong BFG fan...
I just swapped my AT3W today for KO3. I only got 22k miles on the AT3W and they wore down to 4/32” already in under 2 years and 22k miles. Terrible longevity. Should have stuck to BFG, but I swapped cuz the KO2 had poor wet traction, for a Tacoma.
On my 2016 Tacoma I have gone K02, then Nitto Grappler and now I'm going with the KO3 . After this I'm probably doing Wildpeak AT4 . Snow and wet I felt KO2 was average . Grappler was amazing in snow . Hoping KO3 better in snow ❄️. Wild peak all my buddies love it in snow . I'm running a 285,70R,17 C Load
I switched from KO2s to AT3Ws on my '02 Taco and am very happy. I found the AT3Ws are quieter and perform excellent in Colorado winter, Rocky Mtns, and Baja desert/beaches. When I need to new set (I got 5 and do 5 tire rotations), I'll go with the whatever model the Falkens are as I need the better performance in wet/snow and have been very happy with their off road performance
The BFG isn't really "light". In the 265/65/18 (silverado size) it's 51lbs (ko2) while the at4w is 47lbs. Coopers, M/T, and others are 45lbs and lower. They may not perform as well in some categories, but for those wanting improved off road performance and looks, but want to keep as much fuel efficiency as possible, weight definitely matters. Perhaps if BFG made a non E load range tire...
The AT4W has 15k additional miles on their warranty, and you think the K03's will last longer? K02's never lasted long, and were also garbage in the wet. It should be; if you want a slightly more offroady tire at the expense of durability, longevity, wet traction, snow traction, and cost.....get the K03. If you want everything else, get the AT4W
Being from the Midwest, Falken is the better tire. Wet and snow is common. I don’t know about the new k03 but when I was tire shopping I noticed that pretty much the whole lineup of k02’s run dimensionally smaller then other manufacturers too. I don’t like how damn heavy the new Falkens are though. I’m glad I got a fresh set of AT3W’s on my rig now!
I've had my Wildpeaks for two years now. I can't complain. Good price, no complaints on and off road. Of course, I don't do crazy stuff. Edit: I don't do malls.
I live in the north east and I’ve run the BFGs before the KO series and the KO series. I’ve had them on 2dr Wranglers and I know so many that use them on full size pickups and plow with them. I’ve never experienced any bad traction except deep mud. People use them for their winter tires and others year round like myself. Driven in all types of weather and had nothing but positive things. Im at a loose how they are bad in snow or wet conditions. For me the weight difference is enough as I’m still in a 2dr JK.
Both are undoubtedly good tires, but my biggest gripe against the falkens is the weight and the fact that the majority of their size offerings are made in china or Thailand.
I've had the Wildpeak AT3W for five years now. i don't drive that much, so maybe 30000 miles. They still look great and ride great. Low miles, but I have put em thorugh the paces!!! LOVE off roading. But five years in the Southwest means its time to change em out. From all I have seen, I will stay with the Wildpeak and pick up the AT4W. (2007 Sequoia) (in great shape, too)
I run the mickey t baja boss at there more steared for off-road for a at tire compared to these other two. There heavy They take alot of weights to balance. 3 peak rated but not as good as the falkens in snow wet conditions. Very durable Handle extremely well For how aggressive they are there extremely quit I believe 50k mile warranty. Good tires I would by again. Alot better than the ridge grappler
My biggest hate for my KO2s is the wet on road performance as its downright dangerous, I would personally give mine a 3 or 4/10 for wet weather performance. So if the KO3s are actually a 7/10 that would be HUGE for me.
That's not entirely true about the 3PMS rating. There is an ISO standard that describes a standardized test in which the test tire must perform better than a standard tire in an acceleration test on snow by a specific margin. While it may not be policed by anyone, this is the test the manufacturer is expected to perform.
I love the Falken WildPeaks have not used the new version yet but have the ATW4 E rated being delivered this week. Looks like a 60k mile warranty and got a decent deal at 267 a tire. Hope they are just as good S previous versions. 265/70r17 and the weigh in at 53lbs. So heavier but also 10 ply. Hoping I do not see a huge difference in MPG from the back country tires the dealership threw on there, they are 36lbs, looking like I’ll add 68lbs but these are a much better tire vs Toyo open country A30
Loving my AT4s. The ONLY draw back is the weight. Aggressive looks and amazing performance on and off road. I just towed a 2k lb camper from TN to AK and these tires took every bump and turn the Alcan had to offer!
how much mpg did you lose with the at4w? the only thing holding me back and i do more research is the weight factor compared to my run down open country at3. i drive a sierria1500 with the vortec 5.4
If you work in a shop and have to mount and balance them there’s no comparison ko2 always balance like crap and constantly come back for high speed wobbles and take so much more weight to balance Falken on the other hand balance extremely better with 1/3 of the weight we stoped selling KO2 because the balancing issue became a headache even when you road force them it don’t help
I'm right there with you! I've run the KO2 and the Falken tires in the past. I'm now running the Kenda Klever RT - I wouldn't dream of picking another tire. Not just for the entry fee to put them on your rig. But it out performs both of them where I live in NE Washington. Hands down a better tire for me. But given a choice between the 2, I would go BFG. Every day.
@tomandhistruck same! I'm running the Kenda RT and they've performed equal or better than the BFG and the Falken in some scenarios, but you just can't beat their price. Plus also went to the Kenda bootcamp in AZ and did a lot of driving on different brands and was more impressed with the Kenda tires. Don't get me wrong, the other manufacturers make awesome tires, but they have much higher prices for their performance.
@@Daniel-gs8xu Absolutely! I think the Kenda is a better tire because it voids mud better than both the other brands and it still holds onto snow. They are a little louder than the two but that was never really important to me. A great tire! It is really hard to beat a KO2 in deep snow though. I am hoping to put the Kenda RT through its paces this winter in the deep snow.
@tomandhistruck oh of course, the Kenda RT is louder! That's a given, considering it's tread pattern, but I don't mind the noise at all. I really wanted to Kenda AT2, but the only downfall for me is that the sidewall isn't as aggressive as I was hoping it'd be, so the biggest deciding factor for me was the sidewall and I'm glad I made that decision. However, since putting on the Kenda RTs on, I haven't had much off road use with them as I moved into a new house and have a child that's starting kindergarten, so unfortunately I don't have a lot of time anymore but I plan on doing more in the near future.
@@Daniel-gs8xu It would be super hard for me to move to another tire if I was basing my decision upon looks! This is the most aggressive-looking tire in its class, in my opinion. I'll likely be moving from a 33 to 35 next year. This is my official go-to tire until I can't go to it anymore haha Congrats on making some progress as a parent and getting a new home! I love hearing news like that. Good tires, good parenting skills and good times in the future. I like it!
I'll never give up my BF's. Had 35's on my JK and drove in 18" of snow and was blown away how well they performed period! Fast forward I have a set of KO3's on my 4runner and they perform even better as far as rainy and flooding conditions. I haven't been in snow yet but im sure I won't be disappointed based on my KO2's?
big fan of Falken street tires but off road not so much. The AT/4 is not as good in the dirt/mud as the AT/3 was and my first three trips to the KAT, Georgia Traverse and Hurricane Creek, the KO3 has had better traction in the loose dirt and mud than the Falkens I just swapped out. I'm driving an old school leaf spring/V8/manual trans truck. Traction is a lot harder to come by regardless. I do think the Falkens are better on the road. But I don't push my old Dodge hard on the hwy so its not as big a deal.
Looking at installing one of these two tires. I've read that the KO3 picks up a ton of gravel. Does the wider spacing on the AT4W do a better job? Is the AT4W noticably louder than the KO3 or pitchy? Thanks!
I had K02s for 3 years on a 2G Tacoma. Toughest tire ever, also load E that's why. But they almost killed me a bunch of times in the rain holy shit I had to get something else. I got a used set of AT3Ws from fb marketplace with low tread and was so impressed with how they get traction in the rain, I had two new sets right afterward and never went back to BFGs. Now, if the new K03s came in Load C, white letter, my size and hooks up in the rain, I would consider them. I'd still take AT3Ws over the AT4Ws
Both are great. I have the AT4W on one of my 2 trucks but I wish they had WHITE LETTER option. Since they dont, the KO3 may be the choice for my second vehicle.
I’m in the market for new tires. Here’s the situation…I have a 2019 Chevy Tahoe Z71. 265/R65/18 Goodyear duratrac tires. Last year I replaced two of the tires because they were in bad shape. (Apparently the dealership didn’t balance correctly-not sure). In any case I have two almost new tires and two that now need to be replaced. Problem is that the duratracs that I have are now discontinued. The Duratrac RTs have replaced them. Would it be acceptable to mix the original two Duratracs with the RTs? Or should I replace all four? And should I stick with Goodyear or change? I’m in Louisiana so it’s a lot of wet city roads. I do have BFG KO3s on my Jeep, but I’m not sure if that’s a good choice for the Tahoe. Any input is appreciated.
One thing I noticed with my new BFG KO3 is the white lettering is 1/4 taller than the previous model(s) which really turns heads. I am not joking. People will pull up and really look close at my wheel/tire setup. I have been driving on them for a couple months and very happy. They stick the corners with little squat. The grip is AMAZING. Waiting for winter to come to try them out in the snow, but very happy thus far.
I went with at4w because I absolutely hated the k02. Should have gave the k03 a chance but their predecessor was garbage on a 1/2 ton Silverado. I’m sure both would do fine on a 23 Tacoma that I have now. The at3 I had before were fine.
How did MPG get affected? When I'm pulling an enclosed trailer/Polaris Ranger with my 1/2 ton Silverado, I'm only getting 7-8 MPG as it is. I need to get rid of the Duratracs - too noisy!
I just got some AT4W's on my Duramax. They are 315/75R16's and weigh a whopping 76.6 lbs each. They ride smooth and quiet but you can definitely feel the weight when you hit the sharper bumps. I used to have BFG's on this truck, and in the same size they just looked wimpier. Not sure about other sizes, but in my size the BFG's run small and don't look nearly as good. They are also more prone to dry rot, which isn't really a concern if you drive a lot. Since my truck sits around quite a bit I need a tire that will last a long time, not just a lot of miles. I had been running the Hankook RF10's which I really liked. They were discontinued and I didn't like the new Hankook AT2's. I've only had the Falkens for a short time but so far I'm happy with the looks and performance.
I am torn between between open country at3 and wildpeaks at4w and but i just don't know how much that weight difference will effect power/mpg if the tire size is the exact same @ 265/65/18. I keep hearing great things about the at4w. I drive thru farm land in Ontario where snow drifts and muddy roads is a thing lol...
Have been driving ko3s since July in Buffalo NY, I’ll check back with yall come winter but so far in all the rain we have gotten and it’s been a good amount. My tires have performed GREAT in wet and rain. I drive a Sierra 1500 4wd. I’ve taken corners hard, I’ve accelerated Quickly and have had LITTLE TO ZERO SLIP. Just my two cents is all. Like I said from Buffalo so winter will be another test. I also have family who owns property we hunt on and have zero issues driving through fields and mud. I didn’t take it off road and through a foot or two of mud. But again as my daily driver and something I use for hunting and towing these tires have been nothing short of AMAZING. One complaint I do have though is when you’re on gravel roads boy oh boy do they toss rocks. So don’t have anyone you like follow you. Or if someone is pissing you off just let them sit behind you, guaranteed they back off after a couple stones off the windshield. I absolutely love my KO3s. (LT275-70-r18) 10 ply
The 3 ply sidewall is a very popular marketing gimmick that started with BFG when they introduced the first off road radial ( around the late 70's) and everyone was worried about the radials inherent sidewall weakness for off road. Does "3 ply" rating make the tires sidewall better than a 2 ply sidewall? Nope, it depends on the thickness, materials, design, etc. We've seen 14 ply motor grader tires cut like butter when wet and against a root. Although a heavier tire means less MPG and potentially a rougher ride, mass equals strength IMO. Five to eight pounds of additional rubber and belts per tire means better puncture resistance in the real world when comparing apples to apples.
I got a set of 5 of the AT4w, the tires (not one) could not be properly balanced, in the cold they hopped for the first hour then would round out and roll on. I put 2000 miles on them trip to Moab trail runs and back, they did great on the trail. When I got back America's tires took the back and put on a set of K02S they are amazing in all conditions, they are round in all weather and balanced perfectly. I have tree sets of AT 3 falcons they are great the AT4 is a failure in my book
Falkens win because they’re available in lots of sizes while BFG is dragging its feet with their long drawn out release.
Yep, biggest reason I’m going AT4Ws since I need new tires in 1-2 months. I’m at a complete loss at why BFG isn’t releasing their C-rated 265/70/17s until 08/2025 lol.
In the exact same situation. Falkens it is @@pfan760

I’ve had both as well and I 100% agree with you.
I’m literally debating on these 3. Which one would you buy again if you were to replace them now.
I’m excited to try them
you think the at4 looks better than the ko3? are you out of your mind ?
Agreed 💯
At4s are effeminate looking compared to the bfg's imo
I definitely like the look of the BFG better.
I'll be the contrarian and say that yes I do like the look of the AT4W over the KO3. Not a fan of the sidewall on the KO. But I'd drive either tire happily.
Looks don't matter
@@tuckerhiggins4336 sure they do, they aren't the most important aspect but they certainly matter.
Thanks for the feedback. I keep hearing positive things about ATW4's.
That's awesome to hear! Thank you for your feedback.
I have a C load and that we'll with in the weight of the At4w for being fine. You don't need a E load on a Tacoma etc
They deducted 5 points because the AT4W’s are a Chinese tire. 😂
@@BigWheelFabfunny, but they aren’t a Chinese tire!
@@GettingAGrip208 Japan sorry
I looked at my buddy's tires today they were BF Goodrich KO3 18 and out took a look at mine and I was like see you
My size KO3 were not yet ready to replace my worn KO2’s. I saw the new Goodyear Duratrac RT’s had the tougher sidewall and new tread and siping. They seem to work very well. A bit more aggressive than I need in the off road, but there is a lot of rain and snow around these parts and they should work fine.
Got both. I like the Faulken, better in the desert. Seem to last longer.
Just purchased the new wildpeak at4w tires im in Colorado with a 2500 hd pickup truck and trutracs absolutely amazing
They are good in snow/ice? TFLoffroad review has me scared…
Ran Falken AT3W and Mickey Thompson Baja AT tires on my '15 4runner. Baja AT tires came out on top IMO. I'm going to run AT4W next...
For the size on my truck (275/70r18 LRE), the BFG KO3 is 60.4 lbs, and the falken at4w is 60.3 lbs, so the weight isnt always more.
You can tell they were just trying to be kind and give BFG a couple of categories to make it look interesting. However the Falken is the clear winner.
How is the Falken sidewall better looking than the KO3 sidewall? KO3 looks way more aggressive.
That's exactly what I was thinking
I appreciate the short yet informative video
We appreciate it! Thanks for following!
I would buy and place FWP tires that are really for a vehicle to a luxury vehicle anytime, no doubt about it.
I've had my Wildpeaks for two years now. I can't complain. Good price, no complaints on and off road. Of course, I don't do crazy stuff.
Edit: I don't do malls.
Falken for snow ⛄️
I live in the north east and I’ve run the BFGs before the KO series and the KO series. I’ve had them on 2dr Wranglers and I know so many that use them on full size pickups and plow with them. I’ve never experienced any bad traction except deep mud. People use them for their winter tires and others year round like myself. Driven in all types of weather and had nothing but positive things. Im at a loose how they are bad in snow or wet conditions. For me the weight difference is enough as I’m still in a 2dr JK.
In 285x70x17 E, the Falken is 9.4 lbs heavier than the KO3. Huge difference.
Falken wins. The AT4W is awesome... and you can actually buy the size you need.
But five years in the Southwest means its time
to change em out. From all I have seen, I will stay with the Wildpeak and pick up the AT4W. (2007 Sequoia) (in great shape, too)
According to their websites there’s only about a pound difference in weight for a 37x12.5x17.
How do they compare to the Mickey Thompson Baja at?
They don’t lol. The MT are heavy but so are the AT4w now so🤷♂️. I have the MT at and they are unreal
I run the mickey t baja boss at there more steared for off-road for a at tire compared to these other two.
There heavy
They take alot of weights to balance.
3 peak rated but not as good as the falkens in snow wet conditions.
Very durable
Handle extremely well
For how aggressive they are there extremely quit
I believe 50k mile warranty.
Had both….on 4Runners. Stock wheels….leveling kits. Gotta give it to Falken WP AT4! Quieter and feels sturdier.
I love my Falken AT4W look great on my 2023 Tacoma TRD OR, and they are Quiet on the road
What size? Running stock in XL
LOAD and no diff in power/ mileage
Hoping I do not see a huge difference in MPG from the back country tires the dealership threw on there, they are 36lbs, looking like I’ll add 68lbs but these are a much better tire vs Toyo open country A30
thank you this is really well done , i wish you included the noise and wet performance of each tyre in this
I have Wildpeaks on my 4Runner and love them. The real question I have, which tire is better for my heavy, 7500lbs, Rivian R1T
Kinda weird, wasn't the older falken at3 tire usually one of the lighter tires on the market?
If you work in a shop and have to mount and balance them there’s no comparison ko2 always balance like crap and constantly come back for high speed wobbles and take so much more weight to balance Falken on the other hand balance extremely better with 1/3 of the weight we stoped selling KO2 because the balancing issue became a headache even when you road force them it don’t help
Pass on both!
Ran both BFG and Falken in the past but now run Kenda tires and for the price it's been a much better tire! Super impressed with them.
This is my official go-to tire until I can't go to it anymore haha
Congrats on making some progress as a parent and getting a new home! I love hearing news like that. Good tires, good parenting skills and good times in the future. I like it!
Being in East Tennessee where we get a lot of rain, the wet performance is important to me
Falken wildpeak hands down
I'm going with the Ko3s 🏁
We get ko3 tyres made in Thailand here in Australia. They wear quicker and chip compared to the ones we used to get made in the USA
interesting comment considering the KO3 has not been released in Australia as yet
In your side by side comparison you have the AT4W noise at a 7 and the KO3 at an 8 and show KO3 to be the winner? I’m confused
Is this the newest ko3? Because they changed them and they newest 1 looks and performs the best
Falken has been stellar. Wildpeaks are at 51k miles and according to discount tire tech not even half way done.
what?? thats incredible!
At4 definitely does not look more aggressive at all.
Im a wildpeak dude myself, i dont know about the at 4 though the at3’s seem better
Just got k03
Let us know how you like them after you get some miles down!
Wet performance should be a priority in wetter climates.
Would have been nice to see a road comfort/ride quality comparison metric between the two
Good call out! We will put that into our future videos!
Nice video!
Five to eight pounds of additional rubber and belts per tire means better puncture resistance in the real world when comparing apples to apples.
so I have the KO2 M/S with the 3 peaks and they are great in the snow, the KO2 A/T are terrible in snow
Thanks man!!
Absolute finest of details..? I'm still waiting to see any data from the engineers you talked to.
@@joemanarik2761 stay tuned…
I wish the at4 had a 33" tire for a 15" rim no wider than 10.5".
The falkens run smoothly on highway great rain tire whenever they wear out I'll get another set just like them
I got a set of 5 of the AT4w, the tires (not one) could not be properly balanced, in the cold they hopped for the first hour then would round out and roll on.
Sorry to hear that. I just put a set on my Canyon AT4X. Perfect. Super smooth ride.
That's interesting. We haven't had issues. Thank you for the feedback though! Glad you found a tire that works for you.
Try a different shop. My guy had no issues.
@@carnagejlu yeah, the tire balancer was starting to walk over to the next shop, Falken requested the tires back, suggesting a faulty run of tires.
AT3Ws great tire. K02s great tires but will kill you in the rain. I had both. I'd still take AT3Ws over AT4Ws
No A/T good on ice but yes they hold their own
