This was great brought back so many memories. I used to have a 1983 Honda Nighthawk with the CB550. That bike would randomly close the gap on number 2 spark plug. I had it check several times for damage to the piston but everything was always fine. When it started running bad all I would need to do was gap the plug and go. It would be months before would need to do it but was random. Great video as usual. Thanks guys!

My family still has one of those original Suzuki 230 sport quads in full working order. Even with only the original 230cc engine it is still an impressive machine. Kick starting sucks the first time, but once it's warmed up that thing screams down the trails. On tight trails a lot of modern quads can't keep up because of his much lighter it is. It's really cool to see you guys working on this hybrid project.

We did this with a Suzuki 125 and cb 175, about 30 years ago. Suzonda was the only fourwheeler in my group of friends, around 92 there was a badass snow in the midwest. It only ran about 35mph but with the clutch and 5 speed it was super easy to drive and could take off in 4 gears.

I was riding a Honda 750 when I had my last accident on the city streets. And that was the last time I rode a bike. A drunken driver fully tranquillized made an illegal 5 lane tum to pull in front of me. I saw the hit coming in slow motion & on impact I when flying over her hood. But that was it. There was nothing to salvage. Put a for sale sign on the KZ and I was done. This was my 5th accident in 2 years, all of them were on the other driver. I came to the conclusion after riding 10 yrs, that I was an accident waiting to happen.
But liked riding that Honda 750 4 banger SOHV. For the time it had some attitude. Smooth Engines when running right.

Love the Honda in-line 4's. I have a 96 Nighthawk 750 and it's a blast. Can't wait till this thing becomes top of the class and gets renamed SuZonda

i think that was an awesome video ,and i cant wait to see this thing moving which shouldnt be very long. it takes a hell of alot to kill a honda and those quadsport 230s were a tough little quad back in the day.

If I remember right, the short "clutch" lever was for the compression release on the 230 motor

One of those levers on the left handlebar is probably a rear brake

26:47 From memory those early honda's had 2 ignition coils, one for cyl 1&3, one for cyl 2&4. You could have a dead coil meaning the engine is only running on 2 cylinders (1&3 or 2&4) 360 degrees apart. Could also be a points problem, one set not opening causing the same problem.

I know a lot of people on here have said that the small lever is a de-compression lever, but my immediate thought was that they had added it as a rear break lever for when you're doing wheelies like a lot of people do with motorbikes as its easier than using the foot pedal, also means you can have your foot or knee on the back of the seat for better weight displacement and still use the rear brake to stop you flipping over.

You should show how to tune up all four carbs. When you get the pods and exhaust. There is a tool for sink them all together.
