Thanks Blade for your comment! Couldn’t agree more, would want them back if I could. What modifications have you made so far besides the exhaust. I’ll change to the spoke rims and add a crashbar too, might also swap the blinkers, the stock ones are too big (my opinion). Nice muffler! I changed mine to a SC-project, video will hit the channel this week!
A rash decision got me my 901 Expedition in October 2023 after 10 years of abstinence from riding a motorcycle! 😄 I drove the 1290 AS during the first service of the Norden and I licked it too. But the Norden I like more! ☺️Have fun with the new “Toy”.
Congrats! I picked up my 2024 1290 SAS 2months ago, same colour. Great bike, so much fun. Some of my mods/accessories are: Heed crash bars (black), Outback Motortek luggage racks (black), SW-Motech bar risers and KTM tank pads. Just ordered the Puig Touring Plus windscreen aswell.
Nice! Congrats, also changing the mufflers? Tomorrow a video is going live, if you’re interested. Some of the mods coming soon crashbar, spoke wheels, Lonerider top case. Enjoy many fast and great safe miles!
@@MyLifeV1bes Cool, I have ordered the Lone Rider Overlander 48l. Also intend to order the Motobags eventually. Thinking about also buying the Wings exhaust eventually. Might have to modify the Outback Motortek luggage racks for it to fit though, so a little bit on the fence about that one at the moment 🤔 The luggage racks go very close to the original exhaust on the back and on the side. The Wings exhaust looks like it might be a bit thicker than OEM. If you don’t mind maybe you can compare/measure the width/diameter (looking from behind the bike) of the Wings exhaust? If it is more than about a centimeter wider then the racks will require modification or removal 🤨

Ah, Netherlands, fond memories after many trips to Assen for the racing. Replacing my motorcycles is always a wrench bar a couple that were definitely not good and I was glad to move them on. I currently have a KTM Adventure Dakar. I absolutely love it, quite basic in modern bike terms, no tablet screen, no riding modes, no radar………… perfect, just what I wanted. I think it’s a keeper even if I decide to treat myself to another bike in the future. In my opinion, the KTM experience stands or falls on how good your supplying dealership is. Some models have had issues (all brands have issues), and allegedly the KTM factory has been perceived to be unhelpful so the back-up of a supportive dealership might be important. I hope you experience no problems with your new KTM and have many, many miles of enjoyable riding as I have had. Stay safe. 🏴
Thanks for your comment Gizmo, yes the more basic bikes are amazing. In the R1200GSA video I also talk about my earlier bike, a 2005 CBR600RR. No aids just machine loved it! With regards to dealership support I agree, always helps to have a good liason there. Thanks and I wish the same to you! Keep on riding and smiling!
@@MyLifeV1bes Keep the battery topped up on a trickle charge at all times to avoid some of the electronic woes and keep an eye out for water leaks, my bike also had a serious wobble due to poorly adjusted headstock bearings that I fixed myself, however I could never cure the bike pulling to the left , I still have my trusty Honda XRV 750RD07 Africa that ive owned for 14years and now a new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 that I find is all the power I need in the real world, and basic tech that I can fix, good luck and enjoy your new machine
I enjoyed the content, thank you. I’ve been interested in the SAS for sometime after riding one a while back. It tried hard to pull my arms off! I’m a bit concerned though by reports of unreliable electronics, handle bar wobbles at speed (maybe due to stock Mitas tyres) and excessive chain slap. I’ll be very interested in your experience with the SAS. Also, I’ve seen spy shots of a 1390 SAS, but not sure when that’s going to hit the showroom floors. Did you consider the Super Duke GT at all - a touring animal.😊
Hi Scott, thanks for your compliment. Does a lot when starting a channel 😄! The SAS is awesome, I just came back from a 4 day tour and it was amazing. I haven’t had any troubles so far (which is understandable since its new). The Mitas tires are not good indeed, but I haven’t had any wobbles at higher speeds. My thought is that since this model (2024) is the last edition they filtered out a lot of the diseases mentioned on earlier examples. Although I would recommend good dealer support in combination with a good dealer. Regarding the 1390, no opinion yet but it would be a beast no doubt. I did have a look at the Super Duke GT, a great thing but the adventure model was more to my liking. Although if it was up to me I would have all kinds haha. Just test drive and see what fits you best. Next video coming soon is the install of the SC-project exhaust.
Ive had mine for 2 years now, a great bike and no problems. Dont believe all the bad press about KTM's its urban myth. They are no worse than any other European bike.

Thanks man, appreciate the comment. I love(d) my BMW…. But I wanted something quicker and leaner… for that my eye fell on this KTM. The sheer power of this KTM engine is unbelievable and it also moves great! Sure possibly the BMW felt more sturdy but in terms of built quality and possibilities KTM is up there.
I seriously thought about it but after looking at it I just don’t really like the looks of it and would need to spend a lot more money to make it to my liking. It rides great though. Let’s see what the GSA is going to be like!
I did the same thing a year ago, I went from BMW 1250 GSA to KTM 1290 SAS. This KTM is the beast, I'm lovin it
Thanks for watching and commenting! Me two, it’s a beast. What options do you have on it?
Life is about owning many different motorcycles over time. Part of the fun.
I have an SAS and been loving it.

i have the touratech mount for my garmin xt its a lots sturdier than the ktm mount and doesnt go up and down with the screen
Is it the one that is mounted behind the screen? Do you like that one?
