I’m a longtime user of vidIQ and really do appreciate your response here. Thank you for equipping creators to create the best content that they can! There must’ve been a bug for me then, because when I canceled my subscription, I lost access to the chat log that I had with my coach. And I did not request a refund. But that’s really good for other people to know, I may have had a bug, but that’s not standard for everyone. I’ll make sure to pin a comment with this updated clarification.
Thanks for the review. Wow, I didn't know you don't get a real time meeting. I understand that they can't do a weekly 1-hour meeting when you're only paying $100/month. But I think a monthly 30 minute meeting at least should be doable.

It was definitely a cool experience, but I think that overall it wasn’t the most beneficial thing for me in my channel. And that might not always be the case for everyone. So it’s definitely worth doing some research on.

I felt your thumbnail was slightly misleading, because I didn't hear you mention that coaching ruined your channel - only that it wasn't worth the money in the end. I can understand that. One issue that I have is that while the info is out there for free, there is so much information and some of it is contradictory that I am not sure where to start. So one-on-one coaching could be interesting for at least a month or two, like you said, but maybe not worth it long term once I had my feet under me. I could see that. Thanks much! I totally empathize with where you’re coming from and have had thoughts about changing the thumbnail just genuinely haven’t had a ton of time to do it. I think you hit the nail on the head I do think it was beneficial for the first couple of months, but definitely has diminishing value in my opinion. I also really wrestle with the method that they use for their coaching. I would much rather have hour long sessions once a month with my coach rather than a 30 second snippets from my coach every couple of days. if I could start my month out with an hour coaching session and my coach, give me pointed application things for me to do each week during that month. I think my money would go way further, and I would actually reconsider getting into the program. It took three weeks for my coach and I to do the channel audit just because I can only send a maximum video to my coach of one minute and I would have to wait a couple days for the response. It just didn’t seem like a good use of time. Especially when I’m ready and motivated to get to work. With that being said, though the first month or so, was valuable, they helped me target my audience, and find out who my ideal viewer was. If you give it a shot, I would love to hear your feedback.

Yep that was my expectation going into. And like I said if that’s how we generally communicate I think I’m OK with that but at least once a month 15 to 30 minute coaching call with my coach I think would be far more beneficial I’d rather connect with my coach once a month, then every couple of days for just a couple minutes.
Interesting video. I watch the VidIQ livestreams (after the event), and the info is good. They do end up repeating themselves a lot as it seems some people don't listen and submit their channels for review without covering the basics.

If you’re brand new to TH-cam and don’t know where to start I really do recommend vidiq. It’s a great starting point. And the contextualized help is really beneficial.
We never had real time conversations we would exchange 1 minute long videos. I’d be more compelled to re try the program if I could schedule 1-2 calls with my coach a month along with the video that we exchanged. But with the current setup it takes months to make just a little bit of progress
I am also thinking of canceling mine because it is a lot of money. I live in South Africa and the Rand is weaker the Dollar is stronger and I am not working, my dad gives me allowance, it's 1800Rand per month I pay..... You right lot of information is for free......
Yeah, that’s the one that I’m currently subscribed to. I think it’s the best option for the money. I just hate that the extension includes all of the extra stuff that you have to pay for and it’s just blurred out. It honestly ruins my TH-cam viewing experience.

@@AmberCrowley there was an error in their system, where when I unsubscribed it immediately canceled my subscription instead of allowing me to finish my months term. Under normal circumstances that wouldn’t happen and they’ve reached out and fix the problem. And yes, you could subscribe to a lower tier to get access to their tools. I’m still subscribed to one of their tears just not the one on one coaching.
I don't know why this video was recommended, but I will leave my 2 cents. After quickly looking over your channel content, you seem to be covering too many different topics. Are you a funko pop channel? Lego channel? Star Wars channel? React channel? Review channel? I understand that some of those can be combined, but it usually revolves around a central topic. If it's a react channel, it'll usually be around a specific theme/source (i.e. reddit, news, entertainment, tech, etc.). Your content seems to be reacting to too many different topics. The similarities of your topics aren't overlaying enough (like a venn diagram). I would focus more on two of the spheres of the diagram and make content that reflects that topic (Funko - Star Wars - reviews), Funko/Review, Funko/Starwars, Star Wars/reviews. Hopefully that makes sense. You have great energy and a great voice. You have confidence, which helps a lot in viewer engagement. Keep it up.
Hey! I briefly wanted to say thank you for your engaging comment, it’s comments like this that will help me create more engaging content, and get better as a creator. Iron sharpens iron. I think an important distinction that I need to make that I did not make in the video is that I subscribed to this service with a different TH-cam channel a channel that does have a defined niche a target audience, and a certain demographic. I did not subscribe to the service for my current, TH-cam channel this one. That is an important distinction, because this channel is not geared towards any particular person. Because right now I’m not creating content for any particular person. I’m creating content because I personally enjoy it and so I’m building the channel around my personal interests instead of a certain niche. A terrible strategy to grow but a really good strategy for both my mental health, and Documenting my life. Maybe one day I will eventually niche down on this channel, but that’s currently not a goal that I have, because I prefer to create content that I enjoy to create rather than trying to gain a ton of subscribers. On my other channel, that’s not the case, I want to grow, and I want to build a brand around a niche. I thought that distinction might be helpful, and I did not make it in the video. Hey! Thanks for the question! I’ve done a ton of studying since on TH-cam especially on thumbnail design. I’ve found a handful of extremely helpful TH-cam channels that have helped me as well! Nate Black has an incredible channel with some amazing resources! Even though I unsubscribed from VidIQ I’ve not stopped the learning journey there are some great tools out there! (I even trained ChatGPT on my channel to help me with content ideas SEO and tons of other things
And to be fair after an email they did notice that it was a glitch and did fix the problem which I was thankful for. But all of my other opinions remain the same. (I mention this in the pinned comment)
My free trial with these dorks ended and was charged $200 for an entire year and they said its non-refundable. wtf. Their platform was highly unhelpful, didn't teach me anything, and everything they suggested sucked and didn't help my videos/channel at all. No shot I would recommend them
haven't yet, because our coach is very good. But stay tuned this may change. I can tell you "channel audit" wise i won't touch another one of those until i have doubled my current # of subscribers. and cleaned up the channel, then lets see how they feel about Focus Vomit.

With just boost you can get access to the premium discord server for paid members only and the mods there will write a super-helpful paragraph and guide you through it fast: they respond on average in just an hour! Just with boost I went from 60 to 127 subs in 2 weeks. Why bother with coaching?
