    I bought a HEST Foamy “short” based on your review (and others). Your review is comprehensive and credible based on your list of other mats you’ve tried and experience you shared. I had to go “short “ my vehicle, but I think it will work out great! Thanks so much for the thorough review.

    I'm trying to find a comfortable mattress for my van. I tried a Nemo Roamer self-inflating mattress with an egg crate foam topper and while it felt fairly comfortable, my hips and back would hurt if I tried sleeping on it all night. I also tried a Milliard trifold memory foam mattress and found that those are hard as a rock! To give you an idea as to how hard that trifold mattress was, when I placed two 10 lb dumbbells side by side on the bed, it barely made a dent! Anyway I'm curious as to how firm this is? I guess I will have to give it a try by purchasing it from REI. They have a 1 year return policy if you're a member so I'm going to try it out.

      I went through the same thing before committing to the Foamy but it really comes down to personal preference and weight. I think the more you weigh the less comfortable this is and the more you need the Dropstitch Base or something cheap that adds extra padding below to make it more comfortable.

    Awesome review. Because it has a waterproof exterior, you think it would be ok strapped to a roof rack?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! So the only truly waterproof part is the dark blue area on the bottom of the Foamy's. You might get the light blue part a little wet or dirty if you put it on the roof.

    This seems crazy man I bought one and I just sink right to the ground. I’m 210 lbs I can feel the ground. Pressure points it’s useless painful. Did I get a defective one? Wtf? Everyone raves about this but it’s no padding at all for me.

      Man! You might have but you are also 25lbs heavier than I am.

      Thanks for the heads up! Im 275lbs, I wondered if this would hold up... Guess I'll keep using my el cheapo Costco trifold foam twin mattress... 50 bucks and not terrible

      I weigh 260. I sleep on thin camper foam pad and two large blankets that I folds until they are 30” across. I think if you sleep on the ground like that long enough the body adapts to it.
      I guess I’ll be in luxury with 3.9” foam.
      I’ll put my camper foam pad underneath just for that extra inch.

    How tall are you? 78” pad is 6’6” long. I’m 6’3, so I’d be pushing it. Thanks for the review.

      5’10” 185-190lbs. If you click through the review on thegoodride.com its there. Davey, another reviewer is almost 6'4 and says it works for him but it's tight.

      @@thegoodridesnow Went ahead and ordered it. They have a 100 day money back guarantee if I’m not pleased. I have 30” sleeping pad by 78” and not bothered. Just adapt to it. Thanks for posting video and quick response.

    Hey, just discovering this review. How would you compare this to the exped megamat 10?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don't have a review up but owned the Exped Megamat 10 for a year and while it's super comfortable and a little more compact than the Foamy when packed up I got rid of it. Mainly because it kept getting tiny holes that were hard to find/repair but would lead to the pad deflating in the middle of the night. That is why I moved over to the Foamy. I'm guaranteed a good sleep and never have to worry about it deflating. I would also say if you like a softer pad, like I do, the Hest is better.
