The judging literally made zero sense here. Strong does a frontflip no hander, hands of quickly and under rotates, takes the lead... Adelberg does the same trick, longer hands off and doesn't under rotate... takes second? Then Strong does it even worse and gets more points!? Then Rob throws it down as hard as he can, full extension and hands off for about as long as you can... and still they put him in second by .33. The favouritism is obvious.
its honestly a kind of a bummer not to see any real innovation in tricks at xgames.. not to take anything away from these guys, the tricks they're doing are insane, i just always looked foward to seeing the new tricks the riders have been working on all year
I agree. I remember watching Moto X best trick growing up and it was always INSANE people doing the craziest stuff ever now it just seems like the same stuff every year
At least in the 2000s everything was kind of new & everyone threw down knowing they might die. Now it’s kinda watered down & the extension is looking like deegan.
Judging has been off this whole xgames, Strong himself seemed surprised he won. Adelbergs second run had big extension, hands off for a long duration and a buttery smooth landing. It would be interesting to see their judging criteria as it didn't seem to match with what the judges were stating

Tbh I think it’s time to add the new ramps to x games. There really hasn’t been much progression here recently where we’re seeing triple flips and front flip combos at nitro circus.
Why hasn't Rinaldo been in the past couple of X Games? That guy brought the best trick competition to a whole new level with the stuff he was attempting.
Insanely talented and crazy but it was also literally a battle between front flip no handers and double backflip combos. I actually like the backflip bar hops more.

Looool a little off but not much. I miss the days when people brought something new and tried different tricks on each run. FMX is so stale even the announcers sound bored. This has to be the only X Games discipline where the same trick wins gold like 7 years in a row.

It's hard to watch anymore. I mean, I'm not taking it for granted that we're actually seeing all these fronts & double backs - but christ does it get boring. When FMX is literally down to slowmo frame by frame replays to decide by 1/3rd of a point... I mean, it used to be obvious who won best trick before, because no one was doing the same thing, and a few people were brining actual INNOVATION.
Monster energy won this, both rob and jacko had the same trick rob did it better sorry to say I’m a fan of both but rob was cleaner a lot clean monster energy won this!
I miss when best trick was about innovation. It's just been nothing but front flips and double backflips year in and year out. What happened to wanting to push the sport? Why isn't x games including new gen ramps like nitro world games that would probably help alot.
Yeah, but some of the raiders (in best trick competition) are doing causal single backflip combos like 15 years ago (in the regular Moto X ride). That's more embarrassing. But I agree, I miss innovation too. That means I miss Pastrana and Pages.
You can argue what trick is better than another, but when it’s the same trick, it’s clear Adelberg had way better no handers AND the front flip was smoother than Jackson’s. This Adelberg should contact his lawyer!
I give to Jacko respect, he done front flip no hander raw, but Rob was cleaner, his FF No Handler was ideal for me, two attempts and two nice shots! I don't understand judges decision!
