✿ Credit: Artists spend countless hours on their designs from concept to completion. I have the utmost respect for other artists, and the time/energy behind their original designs. I will always make a point to give credit where credit is due because I expect the same in return. Of course, in some rare circumstances, artists' beading designs may overlap in certain ways; after all, there are only so many combinations in which beads may be put together. It's possible for artists to simply “be on the same wavelength.” "Great minds think alike," and all that. :)

✿ Please note: Orchid and Opal is a one-woman show. I (Gina) happily work full-time creating new designs, finished pieces, written patterns, and video content. However, there's so much more work that goes unseen. I state this to let you know (1) how passionate I am about what I do, and (2) as a fellow human, I make mistakes, and do the best I can while also trying to maintain a work-life balance. I always strive to thoroughly research topics, educate myself, and present you with the most accurate content, to the very best of my ability. Thanks for joining me on this creative journey!

The owl is just the cutest!
I am so glad you enjoyed, Denise!! 💜💜💜
ABSOLUTELY love love the owl earrings.
Thank you, Deborah! 💜💜💜
Loved this tutorial. I am a fan and do not bead weave so it was great to see something incorporating ideas for bead stringing. I have missed your bead strsinging videos.
Thanks, Jeanie! I have had a lot of new projects for bead weaving that have tied me up from stringing for sure. I will definitely be coming back with more stringing via finished jewelry updates, and more. Thanks for still hanging in there with me! 💜💜💜
I'm so glad you talked about the bars! I got a bunch of just the bars in a mix grab bag and had no real clue what to do. Watching this not only did you share some cool ideas, but I got one that I have to share. You could also do a square stitch off the bars. That could look really cool. Depending, it could look like a scroll or inspired by Asain art. Oh man! I'm so excited now! Thank you 😁.
@kmm LOVE your idea!💡 Years (OK, decades) 😉 ago I made some dollhouse furniture and rugs (done in cross stitch on 22ct Hardanger). With your idea one could make incredible mini beaded banners that could be used in dollhouses, shadow box scenes, etc. as well as in jewelry 😀 (starts digging out toggle bars and 15/0 beads to play with.... 😄)
Edit - O man, got so excited I almost forgot 😱 -Thank you kmm and Gina for the inspiration! ✨💕
@@abbynormal4740 banners for a doll house sounds so cool! Wish I had someone to make some for. Have fun! I love playing with colors and patterns in brick and square stitch 😊.
LOVE these creative ideas! I had thought of peyote, but didn't have a chance to make something before the video. Square stitch is excellent too!! 💜💜💜
The owl/feather idea was my fave!

Those were some really cool ways to use toggle clasps. I'm one of those people that can pretty much copy what I see, but I have difficulty coming up with new ideas on my own--lack of imagination or just plain old age, who knows, LOL. So appreciate you, Gina!

Love this, I have started using toggle clasps in my embroidery. I don't exclusively mean bead/jewely embroidery but decor embroidery. Thread art with buttons and beads, even sewing elements on cross stitch projects. A great way to personalize or add to patterns.

I do have a question. I'm just beginning and I was wondering what essentials or kits should i get to get started. Any suggestions on where to buy supplies. I'm just starting out and I don't know. Thank you all for the help in advance.
Hi Robert! What kind of beading are you interested in? Basic jewelry/bead stringing? Or are you looking into bead weaving? You might try the Potomac Beads best bead box if you would like to get started with a monthly project/kit for bead weaving. Annie's creative clubs has a jewelry making monthly subscription that is great for starting bead stringing projects. 💜💜💜
