oh man, you described it perfectly. I had a crush on this boy in 8th and 9th grade, we shared the same music taste, he would let me braid his hair and then get really shy about it, he would compliment me about my hobbies, etc. I was bummed when he got a girlfriend in 9th grade. They lasted about a month and we did not interact for a few months after that. But on a random April day, we talked a bit. I can remember it very clearly, I playfully tried on his glasses and posed, asking him if they fit me. I was convinced he only saw me as a friend but he gave me the warmest smile ever and said they do fit me nicely. I blushed and gave them back. The same day he was using his phone as a speaker and gave it to me so I can play the songs I liked. When another guy came and tried to change the music he was so annoyed :) He changed schools that year, and we never spoke again. He was one of my real crushes, who made me blush and giggle and gave me so many butterflies. I don't know if I have feelings for him anymore, but I am happy with myself, so the calm ending of the song really reflected that. I hope he's happy too :)

Have you been in a nontoxic relationship yet? I have and this song fits it amazing. It’s like the feeling of excitement and happiness you get in your chest when you see that someone you love. It feels like a late night call with that person where you talk for hours and stay up until 2am not realizing how late it is. It feels like a compliment that they give you that you can’t stop thinking about for the rest of the day. If that is the case and all your relationships have been toxic, or maybe you haven’t had one yet and all the times that you have ever told someone that you like them a little more than a friend, they say they don’t the same, then it will get better. You will find someone that you love that loves you back as much as you deserve. I hope the month in between when you commented this and when I’m replying has been good. This is coming from someone with almost no experience. I have liked people and whether I knew if they were gay or not, I was too scared to say anything, but I did eventually find someone who makes this song resonate with how I feel. And so will you.

Kinda stopped paying attention somewhere around 5th, but I switched to homeschool and I’m trying to get back on track. Most of my literary work is self-taught, my parents and siblings struggle to catch onto what I’m saying sometimes. Not to mention, I’ve been in and out of different kinds of schools so they don’t get the credit either.

Haha, I remember being a fourteen something year old and cringing at the relationships that teens around me had. I firmly used to believe that love doesn’t happen at a very young age and it’s all simply infatuation, until it happened to me. i def had crushes before and may i add crushes that lasted 2-3 years but this one was different. The rush was out of this world. Him and i would stay up whole night talking to each other, i was spending 25 hours out of the 24 hour day just on call with him. I vividly remember this one time i was on a walk while on a call with him, and he made me laugh so hard that I had to literally sit down on the pavement or else i feared I’d faint for how hard i was laughing. Weeks, months and years passed and the rush only intensified. It wasn’t even butterflies at this point, i felt at utter peace when i talked to him. I felt this intense connection with him, as if i had met him before, as if i knew him more than i knew myself. Sounds strange, but it was as if he was me and i was him. It is still one of the most cherished experience I have had till date, it was absolutely ecstatic for the few years it lasted. young love is so pure and innocent.
This surely does take me back to when i was 14 and in love for the first time. I remember being so sad and helpless when we fell apart after years of togetherness, but what I wouldn’t give just to feel those butterflies and rush for the first time again. I really hope he’s doing well now.

the ending feels bitter sweet. my 14 yr old love was my best friend, i had a crush on him for 4 years. when i finally confessed he reciprocated and we dated until right before our 6 month anniversary. he never told me the reason but our mutual friend told me he lost feelings. its been 3 years since we broke up and he doesn’t talk to me anymore, he ended up quickly growing apart from our small friend group once we started high school. i miss that feeling but we weren’t meant for each other i hope we can both hear this melody for ourselves again

Dont lose faith in love. Last October I broke up with my first gf, who was also my best friend, but the worst part was the fact that we kinda stopped being friends months before the actual breakup. I'm not 14, but it's taking me back a couple of months when I was at one of my final school dances and I just fell in love. Him and I just danced for the whole thing. The whole thing! We're not even dating! We just made a collective decision to dance for the full 3 hours like we were dating and it was the best 4 hours of my life. No worries. Life's suddenly gotten better from there and I just can't stop feeling this weird feeling in my stomach every time he walks by me and I just can't look at him anymore because if I do, I'll just fall over like a tree. I love this so much. I've never been able to feel this before, or at least not after my first boyfriend a couple of years ago. He wasn't the one but this guy I've met now? He might be... Ahhh I just can't describe it! I love this so much.

This definitely hits some teen years nerve. Music like this was mainstream and everyone listened to it, so this brings me some memories. Makes me think of a special relationship I had a couple years ago. I was past my teen years but this tune was the feeling I was feeling back then. I was waiting in line to get some food and this girl and her friend bumped into me. As I turned to say excuse me, I looked at her and was hooked right away. I could tell she was too. My God she was beautiful. We hit it off that instant. We were both from different states and happened to met right there and then, on the only day we were there. Life wanted us there. Our friends got together to hang out and we started to get along sooo freaking well. We would occasionally catch one staring at the other and we would “accidentally” bump into each other and grab each other’s hands for a split second. By the end of the day, we all decided to go to this house to eat s’mores over a campfire and play guitar and sing. We were so close to each other and I was so nervous and felt like my stomach was doing backflips. It was late and my friends and I had a long drive back but unfortunately neither me or her could muster up the courage to do something about our chemistry. I kissed her goodbye on the cheek and went to the car. As soon as I got there, my friends were all looking at me and saying “what are you doing? Go back there!”. I don’t know what happened to my lack of courage but I just ran back out, yelled out her name and she turned. As soon as I got to her, I got really close and said “I can’t leave us like this”, and I kissed her. My God I was on cloud nine. We dated for a couple months and it was just perfect. Unfortunately, life happened and we couldn’t stay together anymore. Today she’s married and happy.
Many years passed but I do know one thing: I will never ever forget her and what we had. I was fortunate enough to live something like that. She was and always will be the love of my life, and I know for a fact that I am hers too.
