I've been threading spinnerbait skirts through worms for 15 years. It WORKS, no doubt. And yeah... I did get it from Japanese baits. I was into the JDM stuff way before it blew up on social media. Those lures were killer before everyone caught on to the good stuff haha 😂
To change the subject: I'm in Maine and I've been throwing the Tactical 210 wake bait and catching several fish over 4 lbs including (1) over 5 lbs. Talk about a Confidence builder!!! Thanks Gentlemen 😁
Tim, I’m not surprised you’re the one who did this review! I think I remember Matt mentioning that this wasn’t his favorite bait when he looked at it, but I agree with you-it might seem a little crazy at first, but it really works. My best experience was with the Geecrack Cue Bombs this past August. I only had one pack of four, but the fish just couldn’t resist them. They were actually pecking and eating them! I think it’s the unique Salt, Amino, and Flavor (SAF) scent that really got the fish to commit. Everything was hitting these baits-good-sized largemouth bass, 4lb peacock bass, Mayan cichlids, and even the occasional large bluegill. I’ve never had this much luck in the heat of summer! Unfortunately, I lost my four baits-some to snags and two to big bass. After that, I couldn’t find them anywhere in stock, so I tried the OSP Saikoro Dice Rubber Max Salt Soft Bait, but it just didn’t get the same reaction from the fish. Now that the Cue Bombs are finally back in stock, I’ve got my first set after waiting two months, and I can’t wait to try them again! Convince Matt to try the Cue Bomb on a dropshot and let me know what he thinks. I know I don’t need to convince you! 😊 Great tips, by the way, on adding built-in skirts to Neko and med rigs. I’ll have to try them out!
For the OG guys, you can use the mojo weight threader that came with the split shot kit. If not, Decoy sells a nice titanium one and Fuji makes a line threader also. It will do a lot less damage to your bait and you can also use it on your flipping weight when the braid gets too soft to thread through the insert
Awesome - I’ve been thinking about this over the last few weeks for my Googan Lunker Log which I’ve caught a ton of bass on just as it is. I recently added a small willow blade to it, but now I have the answer and a better solution👍🏼 Thanks Tim 👍🏼
While fishing at Lake Shasta, we used to use a lure, called a binky bug, which was like a flatworm with appendages. That was probably about 30-35 years ago. Still a cool technique.
03:07 - Like when I put a trail camera on the fence post at the end of the driveway, an Elk walked up the gravel road, turned 90 degrees, walked right up to the camera and sniffed it over good. Minutes later another elk did the same thing. Wild animals know when there is something different in their environment.
Great info Tim, Geecrack makes several baits with appendages! The Cue Bomb really catches them! iIt comes in 2 sizes and I rig it just like Tim does! The bass just suck it in and sometimes it’s hard to feel the bite. Just let it fall on a semi slack line and add some aggressive pulls and let it fall again. The hook up ratio is phenomenal and the bait is very durable! They are extremely difficult to get!
I haven't fished them yet but started making some in the garage. I have soft plastic molds and already make my own baits and jigs to save money. I like to spend my money on rods, reels and crankbaits. Haven't figured out how to make those in my garage yet haha😂
I've definitely become a big fan of OSP in the last year or so. Haven't seen TB talking much about them....espeically the top 3 Blitz series cranks, but glad to see you got to the Dice. Hopefully TB will share some thoughts on the OSP cranks. The craziest new lure I've seen lately is the Imakatsu Uma Death Roll but at $70 bucks each I'll wait on some reviews.
I did this with a white flaked senko a couple months ago and was catching em until i lost the bait. I threw another senko on without the skirt material and did not catch a single fish for like 45 minutes, so I put more in, caught one on the next cast. Now I believe that’s largely coincidence 😂 but it’s hard not to think it was also magic 😂
I also saw on Bass Resource that fishing it on a split shot rig works good. It falls fast till the split shot hits the bottom, then almost stops in front of their face.
You don't need to sacrifice a hook. All you need to do is get some skirt material from a shop, which is typically long, get a bare hook without any accoutrements but with an eyelet big enough for the skirt material. This is your needle. Now pass the skirt material through the eye let 50:50, run it through the bait, gently tug until it's even on each side, then break it off at the eyelet. Voila! 4 stands in one pass. Do this 3-4 times in each end of a wacky and you have multiple strands x2 on each pass. Hook goes back into the fold.
Imo kemushi 60 has been an awesome bait for us up north in MN for smallmouth. When I cant get my hands on those I do the same skirt placement as the Imo on the yamatanuki.
I just bought needles to to rig my baits and woke up this morning and saw your video. What a coincidence! Love your channel you and Matt have helped me catch a lot fish!! Thank you.
I’m also a tinkerer and I have used mylar ( think the sparkling clear strands that come on feathered treble hooks) and tinsel before. I also add them to hard baits via glue and it gives some baits a whole new look.
You guys always giving up the juice, this is my go too when the bite gets tough, I throw it on the free rig wich is some more of the juice you guys are giving out for free lol love it though that's why we are all watching Tacticalbassin
Was wonderin the deal on this , aye If it gets couple extra bites why not ( used the free rig for first time at some pillars over the weekend…… hoooooly crap that thing is awsome off topic )
Been catching fish on a small 1/4 ounce belly weighted screw lock underspin, combined with a slip on double willow leaf and a small piece of white senko, just enough to cover the hook. It looks like a tiny little bait ball going through the water and the bass have been smashing it. Basically a poor mans A-rig
You can create similar and even better presentations using multiple different kinds of hair and feathers instead of soft plastic. I'd give the fuzzy dice a try I suppose, but I think you could outfish it easily by tying a big fat wooly bugger on a size 1 or 1/0 hook and drop-shotting it.
I thought the Senko was stupid. Why would a worm that looks like a pen be good? I was also wrong. I’d cut my least favorite hook instead of my favorite hook like you said. Good hooks are expensive.
That dice has been going strong in clear water easy. It looks stupid, it doesn't do anything but I've been using it on a dropshot by myself trying to figure it out and they just eat it. They eat anything really 😂
I just watched your Chatterbait video. I Know you recommend baitcasters for chatterbaits. I fish them a lot at night. I really dont like using my baitcasters at night. Can you suggest a spinning rod combo for casting Evos and Mini max's at night?
All you need is a big needle and skirt material. You can use pieces of old baits that got tore up. You can use old spinnerbait skirts that came apart when the rubber collar rotted out. No real need to buy anything. Good way to recycle, especially when the real thing costs $5 a pop.
I can see myself getting annoyed very quickly when a dink smallmouth jumps next to the boat and sends my $5 fuzzy dice flying off the hook and I watch it sink.
What seemed more stupid when you first saw it; the Poop bait or the Fuzzy Dice bait??? For me, I can't decide because I thought BOTH were April Fools jokes taken too seriously.
@@timdarnell7819 😂😂😂 you couldn’t more wrong, obviously you don’t know how to fish it then its a proven fish catcher and I have numerous fish on it over 6-8 pounds. Appreciate that!
Saving the skirt material you trim off jigs, spinner baits, etc, is a good source of material for making your own

Good idea using an old hook as a needle. I would definitly cut it at an angle to make it sharper and easier to penetrate.

They have done that video dozens of times.
@@FishingWithChris_Tv what do I put in the search cause can’t seem to find it 💪🏼

Right? If I was going to use a hook I’d use a cheap eagle claw hook, not a $2 hook.

No need to overpay for JDM baits. Just cut up a 7-inch senko of your choice and make your own dice bait per the instructions in this video!!
