    Have any of chert artifacts in the southeast US of this shape been verified as tattooing tools? The ones that I’ve seen that were found in Louisiana were thought to be gravers. The possible use as a tattooing tool was never considered.
    Without microscopic analysis, is there a way to tell the difference between a graver and a tattooing tool?

      I don’t think there is a way to tell macroscopically, at least that I can think of. The study I discuss in this video is pretty novel as far as I’m aware, so I haven’t heard of any other studies which try to examine other gravers that might actually be tattooing tools. Thanks man!

      @@pathwaysofthepast Let's do it! I've been know to draw some pretty great stick figures. Could probably throw a pretty good Fremont trapezoidal figure on your forearm for you.
