    Appreciate the size comparison ... Very interesting ... Not sure, but think I'll stay with my LC9s ... That Sig may hold 10 rounds, but I can use Ruger 9 round mag as a backup/spare ... Just doesn't seem worth an extra $300 +/- for the Sig, especially now as you can get a Ruger EC9s for about $250 or little less. Also, the Ruger is just slightly lighter in weight, and the mags are less expensive.

      I'm looking at an LC9S Pro for $230.00 online. That's less than half as much as the Sig. And the Sig is still having problems. Who care if there are 3 more rounds. I'm looking to protect myself. I'm not going to a gunfight.

      Try MagGuts dot com. I have a LC9s too. This company replaces the follower and spring in the standard 7 rd mag to allow +1. So now my LC9s is 8+1 with the flush fitting mag. Put 200 rounds through it. No problem

      I went EC9S, conceals well, shoots well, no malfunctions, and consistent patterns. I bought a 10 round mag for it.

    Very good explanation of how the triggers felt. One important thing that wasn’t mentioned (that most probably already know) is the magazine capacity between the two. That being said, this was an excellent comparison.

  • @miophx8283
    @miophx8283 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    There's no comparison. The Ruger goes bang every time. the venerable Sig has earned reputation of being a lemon and unreliable for many owners. The online price for the Sig is twice as much. Why are we even having a discussion of which one we might buy?

    • @jmhm17
      @jmhm17 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cause capacity... Also the reset on the Ruger is shit. Its subjective but someone whom practices with a sharp, short, and audible reset is literally the difference between your followup shot or death.

    I daily carry an LC9s pro. Mine shipped with a flush magazine plate and the extension was included in box. I really didn't think the P365 could be as small as the Ruger. Now I have to buy a new gun.

  • @davevabch
    @davevabch 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would add a tip for advisement. Notice how the slide is very narrow to distance of the grip of the 365. Many are having difficulty shooting the Sig with a two handed grip. Also the Sig has a very large take down lever on that narrow slide. Both are proving to be very awkward for shooting and if you have a large hand and long fingers it will prove to be problematic. There also seems to be many shooters that are stopping the slide from going all the way to the rear, and jamming the gun. Also because has been going on, there are a many post that are asking how to alter their normal grip style. You might want to actually buy or rent the gun to see if it will work out for you. There are many other choices out there. And also consider that these small guns are suppose to be designed to be snag free. The Hulky take down lever and the Slide Stop could or should never have been placed on such a NARROW SLIDE TO GRIP SMALL FIREARM.

    I hope any initial intermittent issues get worked out quickly. I'd like to see this be successful and drive others to emulate the concept. Capacity vs. grip/mag size is the bane of conceal carry.
    Unfortunately, another issues-with-battery video came out yesterday, albeit someone who was gripping it poorly. The problem is this issue could kill the 365 before it really gets a chance.
    Let us know what you hear from Sig.

    Bought the Sig (born date of 28 June 2018) and put about 500 rounds through it, not a problem, other then the ergonomics for me are all off, the weapon doesn't naturally go on target ( when I hold the pistol with my index finger along side the barrel and point that finger at target, the sights should line up on it, the Sig didn't it was canted to the left) like my LC9s Pro or Glock 43. Also didn't like the magazines where you have to be a gorilla to put the last 3 or 4 rounds into it. Didn't care for the sand paper finish on the grips either. Gun was also over the pushed envelope of weight for pocket carry for me.This and the lingering reliability questions, forced me to take it to my LGS, and put it up on consignment. Back to the Ruger and the Glock, the loss of three rounds doesn't bother me a bit for weapons that naturally point and are light enough to pocket carry.

    Just a bit of critique ...
    When you compared, mag related, you didn't toss in the 365's included pinky ext. mag.
    Might have been nice to have that detail.
    Also, if you could set things up with different lighting to grab more details from the weapons you're reviewing as well as the audio with a mic relocation to eliminate the echo.
    Just tryin to help brother.
    Keep it up .. Love em ...;)

    Harry, would you mind measuring the distance between the receiver and the amount of grip space on the grip. And if possible It would be very nice to weigh the receiver with the guide rod assembly. And then weight the barrel.
    Since you own both guns, have you seen any difference in recoil, most especially with muzzle flip and muzzle rise between the two guns?
    Thanks for a great review.

      Harry's Holsters agreed... also needs to be able to handle the + p + Xtreme penetrator, and the plus P plus flat nose total Metal Jacket bonded from Buffalo Bore. My g43 with the extended magazine Springs do not handle it very well. If I'm going to have a 9 millimeter backup small gun it's got to be able to handle those well and not lose too much energy in performance

    New gun owner here. I have the Ruger security nine, and my wife just got the Glock 19. We’re looking for a third gun subcompact just to keep as a back up in the house strictly for home defense. Is the Sig realistically a better choice for our purposes at home for the additional $300? Or is the LCS9 the logical choice for us? Thanks!

      I agree , i finally made up my mind youre abdoluteley right its a hype with the sig p365 eventough it had its flaws it is a slick design and supposedly newer sigs are so far reporting to be ok however its not worth the extra 300 dollars for a pocket pistol. As I see it, the Sig P365 has the advanage on capacity, sights, and quick takedown. Size is so close, I think it is a toss up. With all the TH-cam videos that I have been watching, I am not going to touch a Sig P365 for at least a year. I think Sig came out with the P365 before they fully tested it to get the bugs out. So, if I were to buy a Sig P365 now, and if I have problems with it, I would have to send it back and wait in line until they take care of all the other people before me ! Plus, I have heard that the US Army is having trouble with their Sigs ! The "Pucker Factor" at Sig right now must be terrible.Ruger LC9s' have been around a long time, so advantage Ruger and Ruger Customer Service !Right or wrong, I want a safety on my pistols, so advantage Ruger LC9s. ( I am going to take out the Magazine Disconnect on my LC9s'.) I just purchased my Ruger LC9's for half the price of the Sig P365 ! I paid $215.00 (locally) for my Ruger LC9s ! Plus, I purchased a Ruger LC9s-SS Cerakote on line for $265.00 ! So, I got my Ruger's, 2 for 1, compared to the Sig P365 !Could I assume Cabela's are having trouble selling their Sig P365's ? For July 2018, Cabela's is selling a Sig P365 for $600, by giving away a holster, extra magazine, and 2 boxes of ammo in a package. (Supposedly, $179.00 worth of accessories.)Advantage Sig P365 for coming with 2 magazines, verses only one with the Ruger's.However, I purchased extra Ruger brand 7-Round magazines from MidwayUSA, on sale, for $14 and change, each ! I purchased 9-Round Ruger brand magazines for $28 and change each from Tombstone Tactical ! Sig wants $45.00- $50.00 for their extra magazines, plus I have been told they have been hard to come by, at least up to now.Sig P365 has the advantage in regards to a rail, where Ruger LC9s does not have a rail, but right now, the only thing that you can get for your Sig rail is a Sig Product. That means higher dollars. I purchased a red Laser for one of my Ruger's from Amazon for $80.00.Triggers are pretty equal, with maybe a slight edge to Ruger, but that is in the eye of the beholder.So, for those reasons, the Ruger LC9s is the better value for me.

    Ruger trigger sucks, its very light. to the point that you cannot feel it. It surprises me every time i shoot it. safety unchecks every other time i put it in holster. i put it on safe and next time i see its ready to go and it kinda not good at all. recoil is hard, but i understand that its a small gun and it will be harder to shoot from it. you pay cheap and you get cheap product. i understand some people purchased it and no matter what they will stick to it. like i do. worse gun i have shot from

      I've been carrying the LC9S for years and only once did I look my gun over at the end of the day and notice the safety was off. Got me wondering if I had forgotten to turn it on in the first place. 🤔 If a gun has a safety I use it religiously, so I'm thinking it was the gun but I can't be 100%. Only one malfunction when burning through some cheap reloaded ammo that I had lying around from the Obama days when that's all I could find at the local gun store. I love the trigger though, especially since my previous carry was an LCP. To each his own I guess!
