    Thank you a lot for the video. I have been struggling to remove the radio factory fitted in my micra.but after seeing your video I think I got the clue of what I was missing during the process of removing the radio as I didn't know that after undoing the screws I had to lift that panel of dash board in order to unscrew the bolts hidden inside. Oh lala, what a video!!! I nearly went to see a mechanic to pay them to remove it for me as I struggled for almost a week, trying to pull it by force. I got to the point I conceded that it's may never come off that radio and decided I got to see a mechanic, but before I do so, I had an instinct which told me to check it up on you tube. and as I went to you tube, there you go! Scrolled down, the channels, skipped other video I came across, then landed on your one mate, you're a such a genius. I know for one reason or another, many of lads who works in garage may hate you for the fact you are showing their secrets to us, , however at the same time we too, as ordinary people, with no knowledge about these things we also deserves to know a few bit of DIY so we are able to solve these minors problems of our cars if faced one instead of going to bother a professional mechanic who should be busy dealing with far more important things in their jobs, than to have to waist there time on little things such as one you're teaching us.i dunno, but I think we deserve to know a bit, shouldn't we?...if am not correct may someone remind me please..

    I have just followed all your instructions and it worked fantastically well ,no problem at all, its the best clip to follow, as the other ones I looked at said move all the trims down the pillars,which as this video tells you is absolutely not necessary, so again, thanks very much

    Great job, just changed my mates stereo for him, one extra wee tip when putting stereo and vents back in , it is easier to place the two vents into the tubes where the air comes up in the dash behind the stereo and then just reintroduce the stereo with metal bracket and plastic dash front as the vents got in my way when clipped into the front piece. when almost in just put fingers around the trim and click vents forwards into their original places

    Help - Your advice was great got it straight out in minutes. Now an hour later I still can't get the thing back in. No amount of twisting and pushing is making that radio go back in that hole.
    There must be something really simple I'm not doing. Any Tips for that.

    very clear video, all worked well. I was a bit nervous about lifting the dashboard trim, but this was very easy with a large metal flat screwdriver. Removed radio and replaced in 30 mins. It is a bit of a squeeze against the steering column levers. Had to do this to get unlock code for radio after removing battery to charge it. Radio was a Blaupunkt CD player (fitting in the standard slot), and all serial numbers were on the rear of it - I removed it completely but there were no extra numbers on it - only a barcode on the front top edge but that was the same as the one on the rear. Radio was quite hard to remove from the metal chassis around it, but you can slacken off the nearby screws to give it some slack.
    Now off to t'internet to find out how to get the unlock code....

    • @Techn1calb0y
      @Techn1calb0y 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      technicalboy Got the code from here: www.radiocodes.co.uk/ - for a cost of £8.95. I'd much rather pay a fair price to get this, rather than try some dubious downloaded program or visit a series of ad-infested sites that do gawd-knows-what to your PC. The site above had a glitch at around midnight when I was using it, but I emailed them, and had the code by 10 am the next day, even on a Bank Holiday. Job Done.

    Worked perfectly thank you replacement head unit was same size as nissan one there are two gold screws on top of plastic surround use them to secure aftermarket unit as shown in video you might have to remove cage of aftermarket unit and squeeze it in but it does fit.

    Thanks for the tutorial. Really glad i tried it! I managed this in 2 hours! I would say that unless you have the exact tools shown and some experience (lol), the removal and reinstall will take an hour! You also will struggle to get the radio out without removing the dashboard (and therefore removing the inside pillars). Ps if you remove the pillars, open your doors! Putting it back also takes longer than removing it: i had to leave some screws out and components as they simply wouldnt fit! I personally didnt anticipate crumbling stripped screws and the JVC radio being 1mm larger than expected (but thats my issue). Thanks!

      Two of the screws attaching my radio are so right that I can't get them out or they're stripping.

    tie a bit of dental floss around the bolt once it is loosened but not all the way out. it makes it so much easier to recover if it accidentally drops into the dash 👍

    The hardest part is loosening the top bit of the dash and removing the holding bolt at the back. The rest is pretty self explanatory. The bolt under the dash is hidden, and lifting up the dash is also awkward which would have more useful to see. This basically starts half way through the removal. The bolt is briefly mentioned.

    Can I replace the current stereo (same as this) with a newer Micra model? Not Satnav, but maybe one of the ones that play MP3 disks? Would the steering wheel controls still work if I did? Would the Stereo be bigger? can that center housing be swapped out with the newer housing? Sorry, loads of questions!

    What if I have to remove the side panels and the whole front panel, how do I do that? My "extension" fell into the dash board and I can see it, but can't reach it with just lifting the front "desk" a little bit.
    Any videos on that?
