Cougar MX600 Review - we did NOT expect this!

- Cougar is usually a name that I would associate with budget-friendly PC hardware. Not necessarily bad, as I have reviewed several Cougar cases and coolers before that have been cheap but done the job, however I wouldn’t normally expect too much. Today I have a new Cougar MX600 ATX case to review that on the surface looks ordinary, but it has some features that could make it very popular. The question is, is it still good value for money? Looks a nice clean build. Not messed around with cable cover keeps it clean looking. The black version looks awesome 👏 Had me planning tube routing while watching 😆

RGB with a nice understated white case like this, is pretty attractive. agreed with your intro, i never expect too much from cougar, and never have. but this is pretty much nailing it.
love the look of that case from the front, very very clean. im as impressed as you are mate. looks well with the AIO and board you picked. white builds are the way to do. unless they turn yellow in a few years. lol.
I have the older Cougar MX660 (non-RGB) case but have yet to build in it. This newer case is a huge improvement in their mainstream PC cases. Awesome build!

lovely build that, you make it look effortless james. its not a bad case, but they are going to have such a tough time in a crowded market. Who even sells cougar in europe? never looked, I shall go forth and google
10/10 for this case, for me, its the best pc case till now.

Thank you for the review. How easy is it to remove the fan hub? From the close shot at 10:28 it looks like it's held in by two screws, but is there also that double-sided adhesive tape behind, like some hubs use?
A very informative review! There is a case similar to this and also has mesh side panels: Sharkoon Rebel C50. I hope you review this case also.
It's similar to the Lian Li Lancool 216 in some ways.

nice found this case in europe for 79.99 was really a steal :O with 4x pwm rgb fans ,added 2 fans at bottom and my gpu temps went down for 10c ez :D very nice case
and btw they fixed front being weak material , mine is solid like rest of the case , tho gpu sag thing is same
are the case feet removable?
id replace them with more anti vibration rubber, if i can take them out...

Theres some new Aorus Z790 boards coming in white, they also look very nice.
Seems to be they are DIRECTLY competing with the be Quiet! Shadow Base 800. I'll take the Shadow Base though. Good for them improving their cases.
I don't remember if I already asked this here: can this case accommodate the corsair shift PSUs (the ones with the connectors on the side) ? If these PSUs installed, does the side panel closes properly? Does it fit? How about the connectors bending ect. Thanks very much. - Probably you are the only one who can check since you have these products already.

Agree on that front panel design as it is it's a bit flimsy. Maybe the airflow would keep it slightly taut.
Do you guys think a rmx shift could fit in it? Will there be enough space for the cables?

Are the front three fans the clip-together type or are they the old style with indiviudual power and RGB controls?
They are not clip together. I wouldn't expect them to be at this price.
@@KitGuruJames Oh well. Funnily enough, I expect the manufacturing costs of the clip-together fans to be less than those with wires, purely because there are fewer wires, making for easier assembly and packaging.
This case looks remarkably like the Deepcool CH560. Between the two, which would you suggest?
Mx600 much better, have better dust filters, better front panel, better ventilation

That HDD caddy... Can't it reach the front, close to the fans? If it does, you can put a pump/res combo there, I think. Nicely hidden (the pump part), would look nice with a rad on top. SImple costum build.
I think it can be moved closer to the front fans. If not it would be very easy to mod the case to allow the caddy to be moved right up to the front.

Like the dust filter but you know when you initially click it up its going to cause a cascade of dust to be thrown into the air causing much sneezing and watering of eyes.

I bought a Corsair 4000D. The 4000D if fine, but this seems better. Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but the tempered glass only being secured by the nubs is a little concerning.
The 4000D is the best mid case imo.
RGB works best on white cases notice this every time with these reviews.
What a pity so many manufacturers can't make minimalist design, they always have to add weird shapes and useless angles.

Yeah it's annoying. Should be under £100 technically in the UK.
Stupid to not include more 3.5" drive bays instead of that many 2.5" bays. Also, ditch the RGB, Cougar!!!

I can see this case being super popular.
Shame CM and LianLi didn't have this case and price beaten. Seems a no brainer.
