The director said after this shoot that V had the most natural connection to the camera that he has ever seen. He didn’t have to do anything with V to get a good performance out of him. He is known for his expressions and creativity in front of the camera and it’s one of those things that you’re just kinda born with

What you don't know is that BTS got is tons of Netizen trouble for this song. It's about War of Hormones and is actually respectful of women, but it was taken out of context and the men were torn left right and sideways for this. RM went to speak with a professor about how to be more respectful about women in music and so on and used that as the team's guiding force moving forward. There's an interview about this with RM. They also eventually got a lot more gender neutral to respect and include the LGBTQ+ community. Not always and for everything, but ...

This is one of my favorite songs of BTS…as someone who was supposed to find this offensive… I found nothing wrong with it …people whine just hear their own voices….compared to the music of western artists this song is like a nursery rhyme ….they have a Halloween version and chaotic version of the dance practice which is a hilarious must see…do the chaotic version 1st😂

I'm a 58 year-old lady. But Dark n Wild is absolutely the best album BTS has released in my opinion. Why do I love a bunch of songs about teen male angst and romance problems? Because it's all true.
I wasn't a teen boy trying to navigate the brutal awakening of my adulthood, grappling with feelings for a girl that didn't exist even a day before. But I was that girl. And what a time it was!
These songs capture that moment in life so perfectly.
Some people have found this song problematic. They are probably not past this era of their experiences yet. Trust me kids, when you get a little older you will look back on this awkward crazy time with fondness. Just keep your head screwed on straight and don't pay boys as much attention as they want. Laugh at their stupidity and keep being yourself. One of them will figure out how to behave and capture your heart eventually.

As a female, I am not offended of this song, a realistic representation of how young males feel (LOL - at least here in the U.S.), and love their performance in the video. Because of the negativity, they haven't performed this song since 😒.

The problem with this song is simply neither male nor female teens have matured enough to think about how someone my feel. I totally understand the backlash they received. The biggest offender is the line, "I'm gonna give it to you girl right now. " Too many males feel that they are giving a "gift" with this kind of attention . As someone whose own childhood was destroyed by sexual assault, and has worked with many victims, this is the attitude that fosters the acceptance of this behavior. I'm so proud of Namjoon seeking advice and the group's decision to not perform the song any more.

Korea is a very conservative country. Since BTS at this time was not well loved by the other agencies, they looked for anything to use against BTS. They looked for things to make them feel as if they will never become a world class idol group. So both this song and Boy In Love from the Dark N Wild album were very popular with the fans, but others said that BTS was being misogynistic. RM went to a professor of women's studies to help him write better songs that did not "trample on girl's feelings". But I think both songs were great.

I love young BTS.... And they weren't degrading women by any stretch of the imagination but people really got all bent out of shape about the song. They were young boys that's probably what they were feeling. 😊
War of Hormone was a perfect song for them considering Jungkook was 19, Jimin and V were 21, Jin, the oldest was 24. So with everyone between 24-19 the song was so true. The girl in the video was Jungkook's cousin I believe.

Loved your reaction! Yes, they were young when they did this song, teens and early twenties and it is called "War of Hormone" for a reason. I liked your comments that you could relate to some of the lyrics. As you see in comments below they did receive some flack for this song. But, as an older women who still remembers her teenage years I don't find it offensive to women/girls, mostly just silly, cute and full of youthful energy! But note what others have said about how they really listened to the negative comments and took steps to make sure that future songs came across as more respectful. A testament to their concern and caring for others.
I love this song. If someone showed me this much interest I'd put a ring on their finger.😅. When I learned of the controversy over this song I was baffled. I read the lyrics repeatedly and had a Korean friend translate it. I didn't see the problem. It's just telling how young men feel at a certain time in their life. Plus it's a lot tamer than how some male songs depict women nowadays.

You know what.....when BTS first came on the scene I wasn't interested in their music. But when I left work, I was intrigued about all the hype surrounding them. So I watched some of their other songs. I watched their BTS shows like 'In the Soop.' 'Run BTS' 'Bon Voyage' between watching the music videos of their songs. Like you when I came across this song. I couldn't stop laughing. This song truly gave you a better perspective of the teenage boys mindset around teenage girls. The way they perform in the videos is special. You definitely gravitate more to V in their videos. But that's where his acting skills come into play. You can't help not to be pulled in by these 7 cool dudes.....the best OT7
