Nice shoutout to Nations (my favorite CIV game) and agree that this improves in some ways what Tapestry was doing, especially in regards to the anachronistic things that occur with the tech cards. But this doesn’t have the asymmetrical civ powers, the puzzle of placing buildings on your own little kingdom map, the “exploration” of the overall common map, and the cool building minis. So this a different experience, more of a pure tableau builder. But it does look intriguing since Civ games are also one of my favorite genres. Another one I enjoy is Civilization: A New Dawn.
On the surface, this looks like the experience I hoped Tapestry would provide but never did. (edit) and... I just noticed that Anthony literally said the same thing around the 52 min mark.
You're videos are awesome. I've learned so many games (and spent soooooo much money. LOL). Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but where did you get the token and card holders? I would love to buy a set of those. Thanks in advance!!!!
I believe you missed points on war last round. And also rule is either you lose the point difference or 1 point for everyone above you. Will be polished just wanted to mention... Also it does make a lot of sense a technology you learn sticks with you but maybe the effect is gone :) Thanks for the playthrough
You only get the benefit of the special actions in the action phase, not in the drafting phase and the action phase. Those actions would be way too good otherwise. And in the 2nd age you did war wrong, as you only loose 1 point per player in front of you, not the actual deficit. Besides of that great playthrough and explanation. Have backed this game instantly... 😅
Could be many themes. Or even abstract like I am sure the prototype was. You only care about the symbols... which is a bit ... meh... But you get a lot of card gameplay for the money. Great Value.
