I love watching your videos , Christine , you’re so natural . You made me laugh when you were trying to find your die and it was where you’d put it so you wouldn’t loose it . I have multiple sclerosis and my short term memory is shot to pieces . I dread to think what it’ll be like when I get older but you chuckling about it made me think I shouldn’t get so upset when it happens to me on an almost hourly basis . Anyway I love this idea with the double sided tape . I’ve recently bought 4 guilding flake pots of mixes including gold/black and gold/red . Dying to try this . I especially love how you’ve provided lots of ideas on how I can used guilding flakes and indigo blue powders as I love the look of them but never knew how to use them .
Our memory is the hardest thing to lose! Losing things is an all day long venture. Thank you for another beautiful gilding flake card. I had to order some more gilding flakes because I was running low on my favorite blend and my other blend I have, I didn't care for so much so I purchased some other colors to mix with it. It will be fun giving your inspirational cards a go. Thank you!

I’ve just got myself a magnetic bowl for dies today at the local hardware store. You can bet your life I’ll forget to put them all in there but I’m hoping. Great card. So many things to try..
I finally got some gilding flakes. I used a lint roller to clean up the excess, and I found it made a lovely sheet that I cut with dies. And of course, the die cuts matched the rest of the card! What a surprise from what started out as trash!
I'm getting very used to starting my day with one of your videos and my cup of coffee. So relaxing and enjoyable. I do agree with you about how lovely the linen cardstock is with just the gilding on it. I'm still resisting those multicolor gilding flakes (only because my house is overflowing with product and I need to get busy crafting instead of watching and using them up). I have so many ideas now. Thanks.
I hope you have lots of fun with all those products you've been accumulating! I'll try to keep the videos coming, but sometimes coming up with ideas of what to do is tricky! 😊 many thanks ! ♥️
My crafty friend and I contend it isn’t our short term memory, our congested work area, nay, not even poor organization that causes us to loose what we’d just been using. Rather, it’s pesky little elves that come along when we’re glancing aside, that come and steal our treasures. Couldn’t possibly be us who are responsible!! I’m sure the same might be true for you. Lovely card, as usual…..many thanks 🙏🏼
Lol. It’s actually the little blue men. There’s a Stephen King episode from The Twilight Zone TV series, called “A matter of minutes” where we learn that little blue men set up every minute ages in advance, like a stage set. Even though they have lists of items to place & where to place them, every now & then they forget something. And we look & look for it & then it just turns up in a different minute when they slip it back where it was supposed to be. So... it’s not memory, it might be elves, but it also might be the little blue men 🧐😁
Simple, glowing and elegant. I love the combination of different flakes together and the butterfly with sentiment. Don't feel alone losing dies, Christine. I have searched around for dies and other supplies only to find them right in front of me, usually for every project I make 🔎🕥🙈 Thank you for your beautiful technique videos 💓

Very pretty card & what a technique, using 2 widths of double sided tape to apply the flakes. I have thought of ideas built in that, like masking off a 1/2" panel of the card to be decorated & applying strips to it to create a candy cane pattern to gild or use powders. You are inspiring to watch🍎. TFS🙏🥰🦘🦘🦘

I've just discovered you and I love the calm, natural way in which you presented this tutorial. I have a really messy problem with flakes so I'll take away your tip to add less than I think I need. I'm always losing dies but a magnetic sheet on a handmade easel on my desk for the ones I'm using has helped a lot with keeping them together. Thanks for a great tutorial, Christine 🦋
That's a great idea using double sided tape, it gives such precise edges, and this is a super card design. I hope to use up some of my trimmings from Stick It sheets too. I've also tried using a nylon kitchen scourer/sponge to stick & burnish and it works perfectly, with the added bonus of the sponge for soft burnishing once the flakes are down. I did get tiny white spots where the adhesive wasn't too clever especially after using the embossing folder so now use brown cardstock as a base which has totally fixed the problem when using variegated flakes. Thank you so much for your inspiring tutorials, and learning along with you how to deal with "sandwich" challenges :)

Hi Christine, I enjoy watching your videos! Just a suggestion but I am wondering if it would work to wear your watch on the opposite wrist during the filming of the video? The stem on the watch would be less apt to get bumped.
I have tried on the other hand, turning it the other way up trying to have it on the desk, using different straps, the best option seems to be wearing it much further up my arm but I don’t always think to do that. 🤔
Oh BTW, in the US and Canada, gilding flakes are available through Cosmic Shimmer, which is part of Creative Expressions. I think they have quite a selection of colours….between 15 and 20 I believe.
Hi. Thank you for sharing your skills, this card is so elegant that you'd never think something like that could be done so speedily and easily. Whenever I've used gilding flakes before it has always been with twin stick. It's quick and clean which is always a plus. I read in the comments - I think it was yesterday - that someone found that the 'rubit scrubit' pad from Ranger works well on gilding flakes and that was great to hear as I had already ordered one of those, while being pricier than the scoochy it is bigger and can be cut into smaller pieces. It arrived about half an hour ago so I'll let you know how I get on with that as there's only one way to find out. 😃 Thanks again for a wonderful video tutorial for a really super card and sorry for rambling on.

I tried this today. It's turned out great. The only problem I found is that the gilded strips remain slightly tacky, but a rub with an anti-static bag sorted the problem.
Love your videos. In the US we don't have scoochies. Everything item I use to smoosh my flakes down is putting scratched on my flakes...Do your flakes have scratches on them after using the scoochie?
Hello Christine. I saw your tutorials on gilding flakes and saw all your beautiful cards. I went out and bought gilding flakes, used them and found that when I slide my hand across the card I get sparkles on my hand, is this normal? I tried the brush to take the sparkles off but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
If you burnish the flakes well, there shouldn't be any transfer of twinkle! If you are talking about transfer to your hands during the process, it is likely that you will get some on your hands as the flakes are extremely thin and light and will temporarily stick to the oils in your skin. A scoochy is the best tool for burnishing the flakes in my experience. I hope this answers your query! ♥️
This is lovely. I tried to make this today. It still was tacky after burnishing. I’m sure you mentioned something about that on one of your videos. Any suggestions?
I tried the adhesive sheets with my flakes and it was still quite sticky even though it was thoroughly covered (using the sponge technique). What am I doing wrong?
I've found dies all over the place ... Some are still missing, I've replaced dies before now and then the ones that were lost turned up again. I think some ended up in the bin! Oh dear!😳

Go over the Gilding with an anti static bag or tool, failing that a dusting of talcum powder!
So simple but what an impact!❤
Thanks so much 🤍🖤💛
Is the material of a "scoonchy," similar to the really cheap (in both price and material) of foam paint rollers, particularly the really small ones?
It's probably a little more holey than those, but they may work. It's always worth a try! 😊
Hi, Are these flakes really full of static and hard to take a small amount out? Thank you.
Not really, they don’t seem to be too bad! ❤️
Thank you
Beautiful! What is a schoochee?
It’s the bit of black sponge which I used to burnish the flakes
Thank you
I tried the adhesive sheets with my flakes and it was still quite sticky even though it was thoroughly covered (using the sponge technique). What am I doing wrong?
Try dusting off your burnished flakes with an anti static tool… bag or brush, it should help!
@@Chrissieannie Thanks, I'll try that.
Christine, what is a scoochie?
It's the little sponge thingy that you burnish gilding flakes with
P.s.What brand of flakes are you using?

So beautiful 😊
Thanks ❤️💚💛
Nice. Thanks

I mislaid a couple of small dies - my husband turned the craftroom upside down . The dies were stuck on the back of my mobile phone - it's magnetic .
I've found dies all over the place ... Some are still missing, I've replaced dies before now and then the ones that were lost turned up again. I think some ended up in the bin! Oh dear!😳
I do love guilding🎉
I love gilding too😊😊😊
