Well done. I remember when I swapped a 2JZGTE in my 1988 Mk3 back in 2018 and got it started that September. I was screaming at the top of my lungs from excitement. Feel good; great accomplishment and milestone. Actually, I want that feeling again…
Great feeling! A lot of little steps to cover but it all worked out well, no codes for stuff I missed haha
doing this by yourself is no easy work, good shit
dude this channel is so good no annoying music just straight wrenchwork. amazing build brother earned a sub from me
Thank you man, yeah I try not to get to crazy with the music. But if I do use music, I try and find something that doesn’t sound corny lol
Watching you put the engine In the f80 really motivated me. I have a turbo ZHP that I want to n55 swap with a DCT . Big plans lol!
Damn nice! Get N55 while they are still cheap! and drop it down with the subframe don’t be dumb like me lol
Each video really gets better and better 😮
That engine bay is soooo tight 😅 thank you for another banger video--glad you got it running!
Hood is always the first thing i pull ;)! Good job!
you deserve more recognition! keep up the good work
Appreciate the kind words! I’m working on E92 M3 video now and will have more F80 content after.
I commend on your patience I couldn't do it
im in! Good stuff man looking forward to it on the road
Appreciate it!
Love the build I have a F82 m4 that I want to go single turbo! I had a 335i upgraded twin turbo N54 before and copied your dual oil cooler setup and it worked like a charm Keep up the content bro!
AYYY OG VIDEO! appreciate the love!
🔥
This is an actual built car. I hate all the stupid "I built my dream car in 10mins" videos. This is what building a car looks like and not all the stupid upgraded lights and wheels crap they call building. Just a bunch of soft handed wanna be magazine mechanics. Great content. Show them how its done!
BUILT NOT BOUGHT BROTHER - APPRECIATE THE KIND WORDS
Sickkkk while I’m here tryna build my n26
As long as you’re working on a car bro we all the same haha
Don't forget the rubber gromets!
For the oil cooler? Yeah, I still need to find some, there is no real part number for them.
dude fire vid U got a sub. What’s that outro song?
you should change out that stock charge air cooler while car still isn't finished. The stock ones are prone to leaks as you already know. I'd recommend going with mishimoto instead of like CSF cuz CSF is all marketing and never shows data to back up their claims while mishi does and it is cheaper. Kies motorsport tested CSF and it actually lost power over stock.
Yah I was going to go mishimoto, was waiting for Black Friday. Or a sponsor lol
@@Sideways_N55yeah wait for Black Friday lol, also there’s some sites that don’t charge sales tax. I got mine from topgearsolutions
Yup actually where I bought the clutch, mid pipe and some other stuff from!
Any vid on how you plumbed WG and ebcs???
Nice build 👍🏻 When will drive video coming out ?
Very soon!
did you run an oil catch can for your build?
Sorry if I didn’t catch it in any of your videos but what did you do for boost control? Going from ewg to a external waste gate is really confusing me lol
It’s controlled by a Mac solenoid and motiv reflex. Mac solenoid controls when wastegate should open. If you look up N54 info there’s a bunch, same type of set up.
Can anyone tell me what music is that in the background
nice build but your gonna burn the seals on your water pump and your gonna have low preasure cooling system leaving it running for as long as you did.
It was on for like 30 seconds at its max, I suppose cause it’s mechanical it could, thanks for reminder.
Whats name songs?
How much power are you looking to extract out of this motor?
It’s built for over 1000, I would like 800-1000
What's the lift that you use to support your Car?
They are called quick jacks.
Nice build man.
It’s really motivating.
I recently spun my crank hub and was looking into forged built too.
You mentioned you blew your engine and got a built one from Miami engines.
Did you buy another used engine and sent it to them or they sell forged built engines?
So you can send your engine and they can rebuild it or you can pay about $2000 more to have them send you an engine if they have enough blocks, and then you can send your old engine back to them and they should refund you the $2000, so like a core return at auto parts.
I went for having both engines in front of me. That way I can transfer everything without getting confused and mixed up. It doesn’t really cost anything more and because they’re kinda local I can drop off, so I don’t have to pay shipping to return the engine.
@@Sideways_N55and how fast did you get your st kit? I checked their website it says 4-6 weeks but some say it could take months.
Thanks!
@@HB_M5 the kit took about 3 weeks, I ordered when they first came out. And Miami engines was like 2-3 weeks to build new motor and ship.
@@Sideways_N55 also why did you go with clutchmasters? Specclutch offers the same set up for less $?
I’ll be doing clutch too and was considering spec, didn’t even look into masters.
Thanks for your response.
did it throw a code on first start up?
No actual cylinder misfires, just like the maf and intake codes. So I didn’t miss anything apparently lol
When is this thing going to hit the road? I am trying to decide what turbo kit to get
Bleeding coolant and clutch tomorrow, base map is ready, then dyno tune.
@@Sideways_N55 I’m excited to see how it sounds and drives! A few questions for you: what turbo did you go with? What horse power are you targeting? Does the downpipes hookup to the stock midpipe?
Wheels camber and toe can I know please?
F 18x10.5+20 with if I remember right a 12mm spacer to clear strut, 295/35, min 3 degrees camber required.
Rear 18x11+34 no spacer 315/30/18
First
did you run an oil catch can for your build?
I have a mishimoto one I ended up fitting right at the corner next to the turbo. Tight fit but it fits
