Great episode, not scripted just a day in the life. Bead roller used for strengthening sheet metal and prevents "oil canning" you should have no problem selling it to a hot rod builder etc ...
Pete always a good time watching your videos. Now that you're not just a salesmen but also a content creator, it's good to see and hear the stories from the people you buy and sell from. I really enjoyed hearing those stories from the canoe maker and the Knife expert. One day all those old guys will be gone. And you're creating a snapshot in history.
What a sweet man that elderly guy is. He's a dying breed, not many ones like him left anymore, nothing but respect for him still building things at his age. What a cool man.
Brought my son to the store yesterday and was hoping to see you but it was still cool to see the store and Ruby and Honey. Brought some Nintendo video games for you. Hope you do well with them ✌️
I love your channel but you don't need to clickbait. I think what you bring is natural and people will come and watch anyway. I didn't see any "tension getting raised" keep on and God bless
Grettings from sweden ! Really love your channel , Fun to see old vintage hifi ,like your cat and parrots ! And as you say you know what i mean ;-) You say that a lot :-)
Unfortunately the gentleman helping you with the bayonets isn’t all too knowledgeable. The Swedish bayonet was made around the turn of 20th century, the “modified” bayonet isn’t modified at all. It’s a common English bayonet for the enfield pattern rifle with the front barrel/muzzle band still attached. The Japanese bayonet is a common Type 30 that was modified into a fighting style knife, not a paratrooper or pilot’s bayonet. A paratrooper bayonet would feature arsenal markings on the tang, not on the blade. Most of that information he fed you is old lore and myth, not based on facts.
Why is the Japanese bayonet so short though? I don't know anything about bayonets but looking at photos of Type 30 Japanese bayonets online shows much longer bayonets than the one that Peter has.
5:33 I am german and I had to hear it a dozen times and use some googling to figure out what he says. I think he means "Ersatz"-bayonette, which doesn't mean "temporary", but "replacement"
My grandfather was stabbed threw the neck by a bayonet in ww 2 they just missed his throat then they shot him in the stomach .. but somehow he survived and lived to 82 years old
That twist and bend on that bayonet is what happens when they are used for their original intended purpose. Do not attempt to straighten it, or you may be cursed by spirits.
I have an Arisaka type 99 with the bayonet and a saber with sheath. I was wondering what the expert means about the diamond on the knife/bayonette. Does he mean the chrysanthemum? Most imperial marks on the weapons were ground off by order of MacArthur. They are worth more with them intact. I would love to contact your expert.
1:30 in order > swedish M1896 mauser bayonet, german k98 bayonet, indian No1. MkII bayonet , japanese type 100 moddified bayonet (could be paratrooper). I hope you like the help
I'm guessing that the red tool box was made from either an emergency first aid kit, or a fire extinguisher that hung on the wall. That's what those holes on the bottom are for, to hang it on the wall. It probably wasn't made from scratch, But was probably made from 2 of the same boxes that hung on the wall. One was left in tacked, and the other one was taken apart, so that it could be made to separate it into different sections. I also think that it might have come from the US Civil Aircraft
I want a canoe from this man. Like to think i'm a pretty good judge of character-I can tell he is a very particular calculated guy and probably id buy pretty much sight unseen.
Greetings from Melbourne Victoria Australia We love your show Especially Honey and Ruby , but we're curious about The African grey Parrott ? What's his or her name and why isn't it part of the show ? Love Elisa and Bob and our cats Skipper and Jasper xo
The bayonet expert customer helping with his knowledge to identify and value those bayonets, seems to me to be a testament to Peter's good character and fairness. Pete is certainly not the average dealer we find in chain pawn and second hand dealers in Oz. Friends have told me in the past what they have been offered for an item and accepted. Only to find it on sale for three or more times the price. To me their business model is taking an unjust advantage of people who need cash, often because they are unemployed. Peter's sale price at twice his buy in payout is fair when one considers all the on costs of running a business with employees, utilities, taxes, insurances etcetera. I hope his channel enlightens people to what is a fair deal when selling to a business and what is a rip off.
My dog used to say this is neglect! I have tried to ring the RSPCA but my paws are too big. So I took her to work. She'd just sit on my tool box. Was 19 3/4 when she died in my arms. People would call. Have the dog.... no dogs. Ok try this guy. We have. Oh well. Try this guy. Gotta go. See ya. Um um um..... ok bring the dog. Lol
The bayonet Peter that has the weird attachment on it is a Lee enfield bayonet and what that attachment is is that's the mount that would go on a Lee enfield rifle. Which holds the bayonet on. Someone has taken it off a rifle is all it is
Swedish Bayonet, NOT a Swiss bayonet. It is a Swedish M1896 bayonet Also you might be able to get 75-80 out of the K98 bayonet, but I wouldn't spend more than 40-50 bucks on it for my collection since it is in such poor condition. (I wrote this part before you got more info at the end of the video) The second to last bayonet is a 1907 Pattern British WWI/WWII bayonet and the extra piece of metal is part of the rifle. Specifically it is the Nose Cap to an SMLE No1. Mk III. Nothing to do with altering to fit another gun, just a British bayonet with the front of the gun
We cant denied that the dude with the pad he uses. Anxiety tru the roof 😂😂. You can easily spot these addicted individuals that deal with mental health problems and majory they use to block those feelings.
You can easily spot them but I definitely can't easily read this comment. Try being a little less quick to know someone's entire story. You have no idea.
$1500 for a handmade canoe sounds very reasonable when you can easily spend $1k on on some mass produced, prob in china ones. awesome he is still doing that sort of work. very impressive.
The older gentleman is a treasure and he made my day.😊❤ God bless him for keeping busy and living his best life..🎉🙏🥺👏

Love hearing the knife expert explain things
Just don't take any of his advice, he knows nothing about them
Its so nice to see you give time to the elderly, just like the elderly gentleman who makes the canoes, cheers Tracey from Australia xo
Great episode, not scripted just a day in the life. Bead roller used for strengthening sheet metal and prevents "oil canning" you should have no problem selling it to a hot rod builder etc ...
I feel that old guy at the end got ripped....just that old "bead" machine made in USA is probably worth a lot more than $40
Agreed. The problem would be finding someone to buy it.
what do you expect from pete....hes know to lowball all the times
old man is holding it by the blade and peter just grabs it and starts shaking it. lolololololol
The old guy definitely needs his only channel.. He gets the catalogs..... Im a subscriber all day.

Click bait title, you don't need that. Keep your channel enjoyable.

That one he took home looks like an enfield end cap for a #3 MKIV rifle.
Haha I got farther in the video and I was right.

@3:25 Bends in the blade are almost unimportant in these bayonets that are likely to be hung over a fireplace or in some wall display.
It's called patina as in may have been used to tickle ribs

Honey at the end: Nah, I'll leave you to it, you got it!
Yeah all the moving her from her favorite spots is taking its toll I guess
The third bayonet is for a British SMLE No.1 MKIII. and the bit above the handle is the nose cap from that rifle
That guy has a ton of knowledge, great to listen to!
I was wating for the tensions to rise!
The older gentleman 'canoe' what a nice person the skills and knowhow he's learnt over several decades priceless.

Little bit of a click bait title, the iPad guy was completely reasonable and there was no tension in that exchange.
on edge doesnt necessarily imply negative tension or being unreasonable
