So finally I had some time to do something with all my proton pack... I thought about putting the on/off into the pack which could be done in the future but the button in the hose makes the most sense especially for walking around with kids and such.... Due to the bad soldering they did and thin cheap wires/Wiring plus all the crappy glue clumps, I still had to do some soldering and such to reinforce the wires.... Alice frame next... So glad you did this, video series it saved me a ton of guess work!
Thanks for the feedback. Totally agree about the thin wires and glue. I am going to put a switch on my paack, have some ideas. Stay tuned, maybe in the next week or so.
While I love mine, the Hasbro Spengler pack being specifically modeled after the Afterlife pack kind of rubbed me the wrong way once the excitement wore off so I modded the snot out of one of these. Combining the Hasbro wand to my decked out classic 80s Spirit pack is the final touch. Thanks so much for the video you made it super easy for me. My lazy ass didn't even make a hole for the buttons I just squeeze the hose in the right spot and she fires right up.

I finally got my Spangler wand and this video helped a lot. Unfortunately when I took the foam off the pack to secure a v hook, all the tiny screws broke off. Lol
Super useful video, thank you! I wonder if your original idea, putting a control on the pack itself, would work with a switch instead of a button? In universe, the pack turns on with a switch under the ion arm.
@@MakeItorBreakItNow Just be sure to be REALLY careful applying heat to the hose. A second too much it can melt. It's not a bad idea to get old junk split loom hose to practice with the heat gun
Slight correction for you, the Spengler Wand isn't a HasLab product, it was a mass retail release. The Spengler Pack however was a HasLab. Other than that, great video and I'll be following it and the aux mod for the Spengler Wand soon.
Hey what's up friend....it's Mike.... I really wanted to buy a pack and put it in my gym for display. I have been building this really nice gym in my house and I thought It would be cool to have it hanging on the wall. I really didn't want to spend the 1,000 on ebay I mentioned for the 84' afterlife pack. I feel so ripped off.... So I wanted to do what you did. I thought about Picking up a 1:1 spirit pack and changing out the gun for the spengler wand and throwing away the toy like spirit wand that came with the pack. I thought it would be super easy like just unscrewing the hose from the spirit wand and connecting the new spengler wand. Lol nothings easy in life! I learned that when I was 17. I had no idea it was this complicated. I can't be cutting any wires. I'm not very skilled in that area. When I was in my freshman year of college I had a really nice new model trans am... I was trying to add 29 more horse power by cutting the screen in my already installed K and N air system intake and I cut the wrong wire and the entire car had a short circuit. It cost me 1,500 bux to have a proff shop fix it and I promised myself never to cut wires again. I was 20 then.lol ....I'm 39 now and I haven't cut a wire since unless I was connecting speaker extensions. Should I just buy the after life pack on ebay and get ripped off because I can't even attach the Alice frame??? I honestly have to pay a handy man like you to put together the simplest equipment in my weight room. Any thoughts? Ps. Plussssssd if I get a pack then I have to buy the trap and the meter as well. It's mandatory for me. It's all or nothing for me. What should I do????????????????
This is why I decided to bury the wires in the wand cord, so folks wouldn't have to re-wire anything. It's working great. I see what you mean about the trap and meter... But they'd still be cheaper than buying the $1400 red coat shown in the new movie...

When you stop the stream it has to have that signature cut off noise. You know what I mean. The power down when the you shut your proton stream ....you did it perfect. Its gorgeous. I said to myself I'd like to get one with the 84 wand. I'm going to buy a 30w PA system mini amplifier with a wireless mic and hook it to the Proton gun so it's loud as can be. Lol. Since I'm not gifted enough to open the gun and make the speaker bigger that's my only option. Butttttttttt......I think 30w will be enough power to give that proton blaster some emphasis to it. I'm going to mic the pedal and trap also and mount the amplifier to the top of the pack so it's right next to my ear. Should be fun. I have a question @MakeItorBreakItNow for the wand on the Spirit Halloween pack did you keep both buttons and put them in the hose or did you get rid of the fire button? i have my wand apart and have a small grey wire going to the on and off to the fire button just wondering what i should do
Peter, I kept both buttons for now. I have an idea I'm working on for a a detachable hose and rerouting the wire into the pack and putting a switch on the side... Stay tuned.
@@MakeItorBreakItNow ah OK makes it easier for me then because I watched this video a few times and couldn't tell if you kept it or not I got my thrower dismantled on my pack now I just need wire cutters or nail clippers not sure on the clippers a 1cm dowel or glue and a small hole for the on/off switch
Oh! So it's not too different from what I did with my 80% pack and customized MOD Wand. On that one I just took the Sprint Wand guts and shoved them inside the MOD Wand and created a hole for it's buttons on the trigger box.
I’m working out how I want to attach my Spengler to the spirit 1:1 also. I have a working replica of the power switch from the Afterlife pack that I think I’ll wire up to the power switch from the pack’s wand. 🤔

So I’m confused….how is the wand connected to the pack with just that little stubby end? The HasLab pack has a big long insert that goes in the handle and the connectors are way at the bottom.

It could, and eventually I might mod my pack to be more authentic, but wanted to show a method others could easily do with limited inkering knowledge.
You can also carefully use a heat gun on the hose and slip it over the threaded end on the thrower handle

Mine weren't glued, yours could have a nylon lock nut on the inside?

How well do the zip ties hold up over time? Does the hose from the pack stay secure to the wand?

That 1 inch dowel you used, is it just held in place through friction fit?
It's not glued in place... yet. The cable ties are working great so far, keeping everything tight and aligned.
Is the sound from the gun only coming from the gun and not the pack?
The enduring sounds is from the wand the pack only makes noise when you turn the lights on and when you turn them off.

Just the stubby end and some cable ties once you slide into the tube.
Would it be possible to solder the wires that connect to the button inside of the actual switch in the Hasbro wand?
Yes, but I wanted to show a version that was reversible and easy for folks who may not know how to solder.

both, hopefully my response to your other questions gave you the answer you were looking for.
I tried to put the v hook from my spirit wand on my Spengler wand 1984 wand and it stripped the screws.
I used screws with nylon lock nuts on the opposite side, for me the hardware is still holding up as the day I upgraded the V hook.

--REASON BEING IS BECAUSE I ACTUALLY WAS A PROFESSIONAL DRUMMER IN MY 20'S...I'm A REALLY COOL GUY.....I PLAYED FOR many LOCAL BANDS AND A LOT OF CHRISTIAN CHURCHES. I PUT OUT 2 DEMO CD'S CALLED EP'S AND LP'S WITH TWO DIFFERENT BANDS. I DIDN'T HIT THE BIG ONE BUT "AH WELL".....I WAS GOING TO DO A CHRISTIAN ALBUM BUT I didn't because THE CHURCH RELOCATED AND I WAS IN COLLEGE AT THE TIME FOR CARDIOPULMONARY Therapy. You See ..... I WAS BUILT LIKE A JOCK. SO THAT WAS VERY UNUSUAL IN MY DAY. USUALLY MUSICIANS ARE TO THEMSELVES AND VERY THIN. THEY CALL THEM "EMO" IN MY GENERATION. JOCKS ARE, YOU KNOW ,FOOTBALL PLAYERS AND STUFF. I NEVER REALLY PLAYED SPORTS. I WAS MORE INTO MY CARS AS YOU HEAR ME MENTION THEM ALOT. Plus I am a VERY PRETTY GUY SO to me I focused alot on my Looks and girls..... You look REALLY young you know. Your very talented !!!!! Are you married?????? I was engaged twice but felt I was to young since I was in my mid 20s and backed out. I met sum1 last year and just put a ring on her finger. We're not engaged yet, but I'm thinking about it. That's why I asked if you were married or divorced. Any advice for a younger guy who can learn from an man who is older then him?????

Just 1 thing. We gotta get rid of the orange safety cap. When you walk around with an UNLICENSED NUCULER EXCELLERATOR on your back you can't put an Orange cap on it, lol.......Who cares what the authorities say. This pack is way to Cool for that stuff. I don't want to "Nerd" it up. You're tooooo cool for that stuff man.

@@MakeItorBreakItNow I noticed we all have different gifts. But yes,I'm going to figure something out. I got lucky because I had a really good drum teacher when I was 17. Did your dad teach you how to do all this stuff or did you learn on your own? My dad got me into cars early. I always had a passion for chick's until I figured out it doesn't matter how good looking you are. They are all a pain in the you know what. Lol
