The first time I hugged my boyfriend it felt so good I accidentally sighed: "I love your height~" and got quickly embarrassed... I barely knew him back then. Fact is, his head fits perfectly where my neck is. I do not feel jammed or like I have to struggle for air. (Ps: his hair smells amazing and is right under my nose so 10/10 would hug again)

If you believe that there is a 5 inch height difference between men and women from these very small statistical samples from average height studies than I can see why many women want this taller man for dating. It just seems to me as a 5'8" man that in the general population it is between 2 to 3 inches in height difference between the sexes not 5 and I am taking into account for high heels. In these formal gatherings it seems like women are taller than men on average with their 3 to 6 inch high heels and sometimes noticeably taller than men on average. So these women that say that they can't find enough of tall men are being brainwashed by these small statistical samples of average height and can see for themselves in the general population that there isn't anywhere near this massive height difference between the sexes. The height difference in reality isn't really that great so there is no reason to be picky about dating men your height or shorter.
When we first got to know each other, my girlfriend said "Most men don't like it when the woman is taller than they, but you do and that is SO COOL!" I'm 5'11", she's 6'3".

I don't think it's that important for most guys that their girl is shorter. I am 5'5 (165 cm) and my current gf is around an inch (≈3 cm) taller then me. If I were to not even consider dating any girl taller then me (or even subtract some for heels), I'd miss out on a big part of the femle population and let's face it, our future children would probably be really tiny xD

Ladies....most men have ZERO problem dating woman who is taller than them if they find them attractive. On average it's the females who screen based on lack of height. In some ways I feel sorry for women because they seem to have so many prerequisites for who they will and won't date and unlike men they are the ones who complain the most about being single.

Speaking from experience, it's not about how confident you are as a man. If you're too short, women won't even look at you, regardless of your confidence. I had a lot of female acquaintances but I was always friend-zoned. If you're short, you're screwed. That's the sad reality.

I'm exactly the same height as Tim and I have also found that if you are confident enough to date a taller woman then it all works out. There are way too many other things that are more important like attitude, morals, and hygiene haha.
I'm 5'9" and one guy I dated when I was in high school was 5'3", and in addition to that, he wasn't what society's expectations of attractiveness is. But I didn't care, I just saw the wonderful guy who was willing to date me. Others saw that he was overweight and had acne, but to me that's not important.
I'd never date an overweight girl/bigger girl. Not only because I find it unattractive, but also cause it's unhealthy.

Especially in the United States the only why a American woman will accept a guy for being short is only if she's morbidly obese or to be a financial support system for her kids that are not even his. I read a study that guys that are 6 foot and taller or more likely to cheat on women because they have so many options. If your 6 foot just walk up to any American woman and tell her how tall you are and that's a successful pick up like that gets every woman you want. (only works if your 6 foot tall and taller though). It's like this all over though but unfortunately I live in California the most superficial place with the most superficial women on planet earth.

I have always been attracted to taller women. Maybe its due to the fact I feel very comfortable with my height. I work out lifting weights and have a large frame, and approaching a taller female has never been an issue, if they say no, then I move on, no bad feelings (there loss) Ha ha....I have dated women that were easily 6 to 7 inches taller than me and then when they put on their heels they can be as much as 9 to 13 inches taller, I find it a big turn on and love it, lovely and tall has my vote.....

Hello, i am 5'6" and my girl friend is 5'9" almost. It’s never bothered us and the thing is she never complained about this. So, its never make me uncomfortable. And, this is not so common, at least in my country. When someone know about us first time, they just can't believe it and even it’s also rare from a girl side that she would accept a shorter guy. so yea, i am feeling good that, my girl is just breaking this typical cultural stereotypes which never matters at all. 🙄

I am 5'6" and I've been married to a very pretty, smart, 5'7" blonde woman since 1995. We've got three beautiful kids who are now young adults. Interestingly, our 2 sons are 6' and 6'1" respectively. Our lovely daughter is 5' 4".
All this said, I certainly respect a woman's desire to date/marry someone taller than herself. On some level - pre-TH-cam - I certainly understood that I my height may have limited options, but there were enough young women for whom my relatively short stature was not a problem (thankfully LOL).
If you're short like me, you're life is not over. Like the gent in the video opined, some of it comes down to confidence. A genuine confidence versus some clownish, puffed up variant. I’ve been married 15 years, the other day our 6 and 8 year old boys were laughing because mommy was taller than daddy ( 5’10 vs 5’8 ). The woman is 100 percent correct, I’ve never let my height make me feel insecure and my wife has always been attracted to my confidence. We laughed along with our kids and went about our day.

Thank you for talking about something so honestly that (as a very tall girl) people always just joke about with me. Because of course it's something I think about when I think about potential partners and I know that people think about it when they think about me but somehow it never actually gets talked about... An interesting point is the 'feeling protected' by a taller person and for me personally that is quite funny actually bc when I have crushes on guys I want to feel protected by them (and therefore think about the height difference) but when I have crushes on girls it actually doesn't come to my mind or if it does I don't mind being the taller one. So yeah, gender roles I guess. But still, very interesting and a lovely video

Interesting relation between the idea of height and "feeling protected". Any knowledge of combat would let a person know that just being tall doesn't make someone dangerous in a fight. There are Pro boxers as short as 5'4 who hit hard enough to break a man's jaw and fracture eye sockets while wearing boxing gloves. We aren't even talking the damage they could do bare knuckle.

I think it's cool when a woman is tall...you can be soft and feminine...but while other girls stayed shorter/weaker, your body just kept getting stronger and stronger...that must have felt Awesome...so while you are cute and pretty, your body's so strong that you're able to do things that other girls cant do...things that usually only guys can do...so you're like an ultra-beautiful super-being...that's Hot!

@@ashuranero5721 My guess is she felt short men were not good enough for her, and she did not want to settle. I would also imagine that her circle of friends felt the same way. She wanted to avoid all the snickering and joking that normally comes with a taller woman/shorter man. Whatsmoe, she was probably embarrassed.

The whole" I want a man who's protective and all that is just not true." I study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. it's a martial art where shorter men (like me 5'3) can over power taller men in self defense. That's why I believe just because you're taller than the women does NOT mean he can protect you. I've made more taller men tap out in class than shorter or the same size as me because Jiu Jitsu is all about finding the right opportunity to.use their own weight against them. And 80% of all fights end up on the ground. Personally, I don't care what height a women is. I do know that even if you are a confident short man there are still women that still won't give you the time or day or second glance. To me that's unattractive and toxic. I feel that just screams insecurities. Tall or short, us guys are just people and should be judge as such. I don't pay any mind to toxic women. I used to always worry about my height but I've learn to not give a shit about what others think because "Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter." The right person will come along, I just focus on school and my martial art. I want someone confident in their own skin and not worried about society. And if they ask me if I'm ok with wearing heels I'm just like "Hun, you're already taller than I am, I don't care. Plus it makes you look even more sexy haha."
I'm 5'9 and the guy I'm interested in is 5'5. I'm not worried about the height difference, but I keep forgetting how normal I feel standing next to him, and feel like I might be excessively tall, so I have to keep looking up videos and images of tall girlfriends and short boyfriends, just to fix the way my brain is remembering the height difference. It's kind of like when you can't remember someone's face completely, and your memory isn't reliable, so you have to find a recent picture of their face to put the actual image back in your head. I'm just trying to remind myself that I'm not a giant.
Exactly my situation. It's my first time being interested in a guy that's shorter than me, and until now I've always just been interested in really tall guys (I'm talking 6'7), and this guy is probably around 5'5 as well and I just feel kinda weird about it! I know people would judge us for our height difference but yea.... I'm glad to hear from other couples where the girl is taller than the man, makes me feel more confident because I am about 5'9. I just hope he thinks the same way!
