The lions are for a pool table. I didn’t get it until you said there should be six. At first I thought they might be for a downspout. Love you antique hunts
I thought the same until he said six and ball, lol
That's EXACTLY what I thought. And when he said "6," like you, I thought of a billiard table to catch the balls. But, my first thought was for a rain down spout.
The ESSO station sign reminded me of my dad having an ESSO station in New Jersey in the1960's. A tiger in your tank.
Sean! It’s a choir stall. The seat is called a “miseriacord” because it gave mercy to the monk when standing for long periods of chanting. A little seat for a tired tush!
I would be lost for days in that place.
What a wonderful place to get lost!
The lions heads are from a pool table and your right I’ve never seen anything like them before. What a great shop!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my gosh, you just me down memory lane! We have a similar shop in Fort Langley, British Columbia. Thank you so much for taking us down memory lane.
07:38 That sitting man statue is intriguing.
07:56 I love ships!
Sean the chair
Chair will fit in
The cottage, near
A nice cozy fire
Place in future.
I thought that was a kneeling bench, where you would face the other direction and your arms would go on top to rest as you prayed.
The lions head looks like part of a water fountain.
That up and down we called "Catholic Calisthenics" LOL
corners for a pool table
That's what I was thinking, even before he said there were six of them.
I thought the table with the two Queen Anne Chairs (I'm not if that's the correct term) would look good in the cottage - however I'm not the interior designer 😊
Wow! Those lion heads - so much to see to. Enjoyed seeing all those marvellous antiques and can appreciate the workmanship that went into making each piece.
Nice throne 😅😅 toilet ?
Thank you Sean and Sam ❤
I'm so excited that you bought this! It's amazing. It's called a misericorde, common in medieval churches.
Yes 👍
How well appointed this shop is! So clean and each item well displayed. Easy to shop here❤
The piece of furniture looks like it’s from medieval times, but not seen in the USA Catholic Churches because of its age. Very beautifully made. I think the four but should be six lions heads are for a billiard table. Great merchandising skills by the owner of the shop.
we have been there also last year ....very nice museum ..bought there a nice fruitbowl .("1960) the car is a...........Citroen AZ 2CV ( arround )1956 ribbed hood
Citroen AZ 2CV 1956
Nice 👍
Good seeing you both😊
So many things to see. How do you not get overwhelmed 😊great video of course, thank you for taking us along. ❤
I was going to say they are down spouts attached to gutters. When the water flows through, the mouth opens.
I think the chair was in the choir area of the church. No?
Thanks for bringing us along. Great merchandising skills as well as fascinating treasures.
OMG!! I want that skeleton holding the rose. That’s Slash from Guns n Roses!! So cool!!
Loved this vlog Sean and Sam! My heart and wallet would not be able to withstand this brocante!!
Sean your kidding with that name its quirk for sure. It is well laid out and you can see everything, Sean you made an excellent choice,, thank for sharing.
What a great place with a lot of unique items 😊
Hey Sean, how nice was that to have the whole place to yourself while everyone else was at the Antique fair. I didn't know what the Lion's head was for, but a lot of people said a pool table and that makes sense. That was a nice quirky place, thanks for taking us along. Love from N.Y.
Your knowledge of and appreciation for antiques is entertaining to watch.
Rain spouts! Pool table exits? Probably not, because the pool ball would fall on the floor and break. But it would be fun!
The car looks like a old Deux Chevaux.
They are still quite popular today
I like your church chair & it will look even better with a good cleaning and oiling.... Hello 👋🏻 from Alhambra, Southern California 🌴
This is one time I’ve really wanted to be there with you!
If there were two ..they could go either side of the hearth!! With a cushion on for comfort!! So beautiful!! Good find!!
It's a choir stall seat from a Church or monastery.
I absolutely love stores like these! My problem is trying to decide what I can actually afford. 😂
Guttering gargoyles
Stunning church chair!!! It will look great in the cottage! Cheers!
My husband and I love to go shopping with you! Thank you for taking us along 💜
What a great place to walk around in and see all the wonderful pieces from the past. The lion heads? I would think they are scounces for candle holders. Thank you for sharing and have a great day
I am a Catholic in U.S.A. and have never seen or heard of a seat such as that other than a pew or bench seating. Very interesting. We've come a long way since then.
You're thinking of Guillaume le bâtard/William the Conquerer who used the stone from Caen to build the Tower of London. x
That was a very nice trip!
That’s actually a good price for the bench I thought maybe 350 -450
Good one are 700-900
Great place to visit!
That church piece is waaay to nice for the cottage. The cottage seems to have more of a "rustic: feel!
The lions for the pooltable - I bet there is only four, because there was just one in each corner, for decorative reasons, and maybe more regular nets in the middle 😊
Great place to mooch round great find 👍🤗
Love Sue ❤❤❤️🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
2cv cigarette roller, very plentiful early 60s.
I like how organized they are about it and great selection including the stuff you bought. Lion is a door knocker or key keeper can't think of any other use other than fountain piece.
Excellent video! I enjoyed it!
I think the seats are similar to ones I've seen in the choirstall in old churches.
It’s a misericord, or “mercy seat”. It really was a great idea. Were there front legs on it at one time? I would think it either needs front legs for balance, or needs to be fastened to a wall.
You are rught---they were usually fixed to a wall.
Iron billiard pockets
Lion's heads are billiard corners and side pockets. I would buy a lot of the pottery. I've sat in some seats like that. I was an acolyte in the Episcopal church in Oregon. The age wasn't as old as the one you purchased but standing for a long time was hard even for a young person so it was nice to have something to lean back against.
Lion heads are for pool tables?
Roof drainage.
Great tour and awesome finds. It is a meseriore.❤
It’s a misericord.
What’s find your little chair is! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
I think you could put the lions head by a water source and the mouth comes down for a spout
Beautiful! 😊❤
What a great place, Sean!
Billiard table, to retrieve balls.
These looks like all American stuff?
Water spouts from fountain
pool table ball holders
This is great. I will watch the video in its entirety later.
Beautiful chair!! 😍
At 3:05 the upper left it looks like that gate you showed us
billiard table
Legs of pool table maybe?
Love to be there, and the cutest little dolls pram. 😊❤
Thank you for sharing 😊
It is a misericord.
WATER SPOUT 💧???
Water down pipe
Lots of goodies!!!!
It's been a long time since I seen your show. It's just now appeared on my phone again. How's the cottage coming along?. Did you do all the repairs on the fireplace. How did all the repairs upstairs I call in the attic?. Last time putting structure up by the ceiling . I know I'm talking a lot. LOL. And how is the vegetable garden coming? God bless and take care to you and your family and friends
All good thanks 😊
What an interesting place! Are all these things for sale
Thi
No
I would have been interested in the stereo set at 1:38 and looked for big speakers!
16:10 that's a nice piece of wood. Too bad it was so expensive.
Thanks for sharing your adventure. 👍👍
Beautiful!
Is that lion's head thingy something to do with detecting earthquakes? 🤔
Interesting 😊
rain spout for the gutters?
Aloha from Maui! Sean, I LOVE your antiquing videos! I love to live vicariously through you and see all the cool stuff I wish I could buy!! One small request, however, could you please slow down a bit? You move the camera so professionally but your panning around so speedily doesn’t give us time to see all of the treasures! My old eyes can’t keep up 😂😂. Mahalo from the Rainbow Isle 🌴🌺🌈☀️
Hi there yes 👍 l understand but there's a fine line between it being to slow and boring for some viewers
If you click on the gear icon at the top of the video, you can change the playback speed.
The majolica owl ❤️😭
They are off of a pool table, the balls fall in and are retrieved from the lions mouth.
Beautiful piece you picked, Sean!! It will be a very nice feature in the cottage!! 🇺🇸
gutter spouts lion head...water hits mouth and water flows out
rain gutter
Goodness the opening scenes were filmed very fast - so hard to take in all the delights on offer. Head feels quite dizzy 😮
You had better sit down and have a drink
Lots of lovely things you could buy in there Sean
Yes it was tempting
I’d be the proverbial kid in the sweet shop!
Carson said hello 👋
Hi Jeff Hi Carson 👋
I used to shop in places like thus. Since moving into a smaller home I've had to learn how to edit what I purchase. I now think where can I use this. If I don't have an immediate answer I keep moving. That's not to say I don't still "window shop".
Me too
I thought they were down pipe spouts.??
