His personality is way different here, being more of a funny and cool guy and not impatient and erratic like he is in the comics because it seems like this movies quicksilver can control his perseption of time unlike his comic ver. and im pretty sure he is way faster here than in most of his comic history

Evan Peters is a seriously underappreciated actor. Dude is amazing at all he does. Loved him as Quicksilver, but my favorite role of his, is as James Patrick March.

I’ve always loved how he plays Quicksilver.
One of the rules of physics is that the faster you’re moving,the heavier you become. If you notice when he’s running on the walls he’s shattering the tiles with each step. He’s gotta have enhanced strength too or he’d crush his own legs. This is what makes me think he’s also able to slow time in the entire universe while ALSO having super speed. I think his power is more time dilation as opposed to regular super speed

As all speedsters especially whose powers depend on fast metabolism like quicksilver his mind can perceive his surroundings very very quickly so they showed to you that everything was moving slowly just relative to quicksilver to explain my opinion if superman or flash were on the scene they would be able to see everything quicksilver saw and save all people also
While if it's time powers superman will be frozen in time and just someone like Dr. Strange with his time stone would be able to interrupt quicksilver
@@LucyWest370 Maybe everyone else is experience everything in real time, but then they see a flashy dude saving them before all those events where happening, so essentially for them they would still be experiencing time the same way, and the things would all happen the same way and the explosion still would've been as fast for them, so it would have been like seeing a flashy object moving them around milliseconds before the explosion happens for them, if that makes sense. Which essentially means, that from there perspective that would have happened in the matter of seconds, but him due to time dilation it seems slower, so that just really shows how fast he is, something happening within the matter of seconds for us humans could be like 2 minutes for him. Also to actually answer the question, time is slowed only for him due to him being incredibly fast so time dilation would happen for him. But keep in mind that the time dilation is only for him and no one else.

I'm still shocked.... from this to Dahmer, this guy is a solid actor! Looking at this Quicksilver roll, I honestly think he was actually, good enough to even headline a movie, whether its his standalone or a team up, Evan has what it takes.

Super speed is an incredibly underestimated power.
If you had super speed and super fast cognition and reflexes, you could almost be unbeatable.
In movies they make it seem like a neat gimmick that falls short of other more impressive powers, which is an extreme disservice, and couldn’t be further from the truth.
For example, at the end of X-men: Apocalypse, when Quicksilver is fighting Apocalypse, instead of punching him back and forth like ping pong, what if he found a sharp metal object nearby and stabbed him in both eyes straight away, then while his eyes were healing, he could saw his head off which I’m pretty sure Apocalypse can’t heal from.
Not to mention the fact that he can throw objects faster than bullets.
When you move that fast, you’re not just moving fast. In order to physically move your body that quickly you have to actually be stronger too, not to mention you’re fighting the force of everything around you moving at slower or outright zero speeds. Objects at rest want to stay at rest. That includes air molecules, which you’re pushing out of the way at an ungodly rate, creating a pressure wave all around you with hyper-compressed air molecules ahead of you and low negative pressure spaces in the air behind you.
Every single time you move at those speeds (assuming you’re moving inside an atmosphere) you would be creating sonic booms, knocking everything within a few dozen feet of you around as though they were in an explosion… because they were.
“Super speed” is an incredibly broken and under-utilized power.
If you can think faster too (which you’d pretty much have to be able to or the power would be almost useless), nothing would ever surprise you. Speaking for you would be like trying to sound like yourself but slowed down x1,000… or whatever your brain’s maximum information processing speed is. Comedic timing? Slowed by a thousand. Conversations? Slowed by a thousand.
Human interaction would seem tedious and near impossible to you.
The only way you could live any semblance of a normal life would be if you could control the degree to which your “super speed” is effecting you, otherwise you’re stuck living life in a world that’s at 1000x slow motion, every second of every day for the rest of your life.
But it that is very bad superpower for moving that fast ones metabolism need to work 5x or 8 faster than normal human . Not only will it create a lot heat and require a tons of energy too. Not to mention the faster your metabolism worksthe shorter you lifespan gets. According to me he has tha ability to control space , time and continnum around him which allows him to reset the time and speed of the surrounding areas . This is just a theroy of mine but i guess it creates a paradox making him look faster butactualy he is normaly walking or running while the time is slowed by 80 to 90 % than actual speed .

The problem is that if someone's ever portrayed speedsters as they realistically should be... there would be no story. So really, I don't blame the writers for that.

I feel like we're under estimating the power of His Walkman in the fact that he could still listen to music while going at super speed his music must have been sped up thousands of times in order for him to hear it.

It's plausible, from a comic book reality sense for the Flash (Speed force), but not for Quicksilver. Since his power is a mutation that doesn't involve existing in a different plane like the Flash does when he is "flashed".
I BELIEVE that sound is still relative to HIS speed so if he's going fast so is his music. But now thst I say it... That can't be right.... Will do research.

Quicksilver rides an explosion in X-Men Apocalypse. Displays his insane reaction time to be able to smoothly react to the changing terrain with grace and ease. Luckily for Dark Phoenix, the writers apparently didn't watch this part because something as tame as his footing moving somehow not only causes him to immediately lose control of his speed it also stops him from reacting at the speed only he(and apparently Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix can).
Phoenix could have just wrapped him in a telekinetic net and had him inadvertently run into it or something. Not suddenly lose the ability to quicksilver because some debris he was gonna run on shifted at his speed. Look at 4:54. He is riding an explosion moving at speed and gracefully does a backflip while carrying two people. That's no the maneuver of someone whos gonna wipe out because his footing shifted(telekinetic tripline maybe?)
i think that the slow mo effect ended to demonstrate how much 'tripping' quicksilver can fuck him up because of the speeds at which he moves, if that tumble happened in slow motion it wouldn't look anywhere near as brutal
Kinda just crappy writing, instead of getting themselves out of the situation in a clever way they just hand wave the fact he definitely wouldn't have tripped just because the one piece of debris shifted

Remember how he did a two story backflip while carrying two bodies in front of an explosion all the while running all over the walls and debris? Or the first one where he's running on wet tile walls and doing all sorts of feats of agility with no issues? Im just saying it's totally a lazy writing cop out for him to trip like that.

I always wondered if Quicksilver is bulletproof. Touching anything at that speed would be devastating. I think he slows down time itself so to the observer it seems he's moving fast. So he must create a normal time bubble around himself. That's why he can listen to his walkman and touch things because it entered his time bubble and not blow his hand clean off.

I think the physical properties are closer to a time slowing ability, since he doesnt get exhausted in 2 seconds, and his feet dont catch fire, and like you said he doesnt die from touching objects. But he's supposed to be just really fast

I have been a X-Men fan since the 90's, QUicksilver is easily my favorite. Love the attitude, love the powers, the lack of effort in changing the situation. THIS is my superpower.
The way he enters the room at 4:42 it always cracks me up.
It is so annoying that they underpowered him in the Dark Phoenix! He managed to at least beat up Apocalypse for quite a while before he took control but of course because Jean Grey is sooo powerful she manages to beat him immediately even though we all know it's impossible. It's the same shit they pulled in Justice League with The Flash and Superman and I cannot stand when they do that. QuickSilver should've been the most powerful mutant because of his massive speed and because of that they side lined him in most movies.

Budget. Unless your making hundreds of millions of dollars you can’t afford to produce the cgi and visual effects needed to do this. A large chunk of the X-men movie’s budget went into the 3 minute slow motion scenes. Tv shows just don’t have the budget
There's a huge reason why Super speed ability is always not being implemented on these kind of super hero tropes. Cuz Superspeed means you have a body that can compensate for that speed you are applying which means you also have super durable body, super strength enhanced metabolism and regeneration too to compensate on how fast your cells have to take in.
But in some aspects the author will forget this and stuff like simple accidents could hurt them when it shouldn't.
Otherwise it won't be called "SUPER SPEED" it's Called TIME MANIPULATION. slowing time can also be seen as super speed but you don't get to have the benefits of having insane reaction time of a person who has super speed.
Slowing time also creates many problems that need to be solved: the difference between the affected and unaffected time areas will be quite messy, or you could potentially slow down the time of the entire universe.

Fun fact, one I’ve mentioned in the comments of another video with Quicksilver is that the human brain is just quick enough at processing information that we would be able to register Quicksilver’s movements, it’s not just a visual effect added for the scenes, we would actually *see* him zipping around like that but have no time to react
