*NOTE* - The NewEgg link is listed above first because it is pre-sorted priced lowest to highest, Amazon doesn't allow that sadly (or they do, but it doesn't work right), which is why I put the NewEgg link first. The prices are pretty close to each other on the day this video was posted, but check both, you often will find one on sale or with a mail in rebate!

    I mean honestly, the 1050ti is just a small powerhouse. I recently upgrade my entire machine. I went from 8 gig's of ram at 1600mghz to 16 gb's of ram running 1866mghz. An i5 4460, to a i7 4790.
And a 750ti to a 1050ti. My system runs Bf1 high with ultra textures at 50fps locked in multiplayer

Yes I play alot of game's like starcraft, overwatch and ashes. So A processor in my case is more important. Also a good processor will make sure that if I'm running my games at the right setting's will not drop below 60-50 Like BF1 And the 1050ti is just a great card, even if I end up only mixing medium and high in some demanding games.

I think u will need extra 4gb or 8gb ram for modern games, also ur cpu is weak and in most games ur FPS will be bottlenecked by CPU even with 1050, so if the price difference between 1050Ti and 1050 hi, i would prefer 1050 2gb, if low pay extra for 1050Ti. And as for me 1050 and 1050Ti needed overclocking, all of them easily take ~1.9 Ghz under load, because of this just buy one with lowest price, but not one for that super small cases, and overclock it to +-1.9Ghz, there are many guides how to do this on youtube.

For sure the 1050 will work great for that system, i have a 1050 in a 2012 system 3.6 quad core with 20gb ram and in 1080p i can play everything on high even some on ultra graphics. I game in 2160p (4k) 99% of the time tho, Which i still can have most games on medium to high settings @ 50-60 fps Which runs very nice. To be honest my other system i have the gtx 750 in and i sometimes long as its not a fast pace shooter like CoD i will game at 30 fps and it runs good enough to enjoy the game. 30 fps is not that bad in alot of games that are not a shooter.

I wanna be able to play CS go, Call of duty, battlefield etc - basically fps games. Would the GTX1050 TI be a good graphics card for my setup? Or am I wasting my time?

    My dear Sir!
You explained EVERY single thing I had prepared to search for TODAY, back in 2017 :D
I am building a PC and I wanted a "stop gap" GPU but with the capability of 4K export w queries about how games would look if i played them 1080p res on 4K native.
I am getting a light used 1050Ti Mini & again I wasn't sure if it falls short on perf or runs hotter.
I don't need to watch another video for anything :D (But, I still will watch some benchmark runs for different games.. because why not) haha.
I did NOT believe when you said there's little to no difference between BOTH noise & temps of 1 fan vs 2 fan types of 1050Tis!! But, I understood the basis of that while you explained about clock differences, temp differences, fan speed differences & how they compare w rest of the system (Power supply noise, for e.g.)
Thank you for this detailed video, talking about every single aspect w logic & test data to back all that up!
Hope you have a wonderful day.
    Best wishes.

_Hi, first off, amazing videos! I've recently stumbled onto your channel and I'm really glad that I did. I'm basically a music producer, but sometimes I also need to do some editing stuff on Premiere Pro and After Effects, for work purpose. I previously owned a Gigabyte GA-H81M-H, but my onboard LAN got shorted because of a really bad thunderstorm a few months back. I initially switched to an external LAN card, but I started to notice some minor glitches, like, my pc wouldn't shut down properly; after a while it would just start back on. The only way to turn it off was to turn off the main power switch. One of my RAMs also got shorted, so basically my whole machine got super slow and finally the inevitable happened and my OS crashed. But I somehow managed to bring it back to life and updated my OS using an old low-end GT 2GB Graphics Card. Since I had to borrow the card from a colleague, just to update my OS and get my system back running again, I recently purchased a Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1050Ti dual fan 4GB card and I'm going to put it in my new Gigabyte B85M-D3H-A motherboard. Now, my question to you is: I know that the GTX 1050Ti comes with a 6 pin PCI-E power connector port, which isn't really necessary, but helps for better performance, am I right? I'm sorry if I come off sounding silly, to be perfectly honest, I'm not that good with the technical stuff. Now, I wouldn't really call myself a gamer, but I used to be, once upon a time. Frankly, I end up spending a whole lot of time either in the studio or working my ass off at office, so I don't really get that much time to play games anymore. But I find games a very nice way to blow off steam after a long stressful day at work, you know, and I'd very much like to play some new games like Forza Horizon in High Definition. The thing I'd like to know though is that if I connect the 6 pin PCI-E power connector, would I get a better performance out of my Graphics Card? My PSU is a Thermaltake 500W and I'm running Sierra on a 4th Generation i-3 machine. I've done a ton of research before purchasing the Graphics Card and your channel honestly helped me a LOT to come to a final decision. I liked your channel mostly because you don't bullshit like other channels on TH-cam. As you can tell, I'm running on a very tight budget here and you explain all the technical stuff there is to know in a very easy, and understandable manner. Also, you support the fact that you don't necessarily need to spend a crap ton of money on a card just to get better performance, as long as you know what you're buying, and I respect that. So I'm hoping that you can help me out, as I don't want to push my card too much to a breaking point. Thanks for taking your time to read all this, and once again, beautiful and informative videos. Definitely one of the best channels out there. Keep up the good work! Hoping to hear from you soon._
    _Sincerely,_
    _Lunr1982._
