9:45 interesting, a store near us secretly sells mcdonalds mcnuggets, and as someone who currently has a large bag in the freezer, if you deep fry them when stuck together, the inside becomes like a raw spongy “paste” like texture, and it tastes terrible

@@BahavianBrave they are a discount foods store, so when mcdonalds has a shipment that is busted or the box is dented, the food store buys it all up and digs through the bags to see which ones are damaged or not. of the perfectly sealed bags, you get like 250 nuggets for 10$ i believe. if you’re still hanging around, ill reply with my disc and send you a picture if we have any still lol

I worked at McDonald's in the early 90's, and I can say that the freezer storage is accurate. The product had to be stored, as the video says, 2 inches away from the wall, and elevated by a skid or pallet, to ensure that the air could circulate around it. This ensured that the product stayed evenly frozen.
I worked at Burger King a couple of years ago. This is the procedure everywhere still.

I work at McDonalds and let me tell you they do things a lot different from when this training video was made. First off, all the tech on the fryers are updated to have touch screens. Also you can select between filet, McCrispy, McChicken, and McNuggets. The fry baskets also have walls in them so that they dont float. Finally after theyre cooked they go into a brown plastic tray with a metal cage and they get put in cooked food storage where they are kept hot and ready. Eventually the timer will go off after they're placed in and nuggets/mcchicken/filet/crispy have to be dropped again and the process starts all over again
Oh yeah and we always drop 24 nuggets at once unless it's well done nuggets then we just take some from the tray and then drop them on the timer

Hey chad! I used to work at a mcdons as a frycook! The nugs had to be separated to make sure they were fully cooked. Nuggests that are stuck together have a chance of still being frozen where they're connected
At Burger King I worked at, with the broiler, it was worryingly common for two beef patties to end up going through together and not cook properly. The whole batch needed to be tossed out and every pan replaced Immediately, it could really mess with getting product out quickly but obviously better than giving a customer food poisoning.

If i want a nugget like food i eat the chicken balls they call wings otherwise normally i stick to strips.

Storing stuff in commercial freezers is very important and has rules. I worked at Ikea’s kitchen for a month and the rules of storing freezer food is important. If the food is in a different place, it will make the worker’s job harder and take more time than it would have if they’re on the right spot. Pastries had their own spot with the bread and the meats had their own. Everything had their place and it was the unpackers’ duty to put them on the right places.
Just a lil fun fact and affirmation that it is actually that important
Plus the distance from the wall & being off of the floor helps air circulation & to keep from making "warm spots" (so that everything stays frozen).

When I was a lil' kid, I had gotten two chicken nuggets stuck together, when I pulled them apart, the insides were all green and slimy. Never been to a McDonalds since xD

I worked at Dairy Queen growing up. I don’t remember a sentient Blizzard and hot dog indoctrinating me though.
Two inches from the wall and floor is pretty standard. Higher in some places (and lower in sketchier ones). Keeping airflow going is really important in the walk in.
if this were cursed commercials, this would be a 10.
HVAC guy here. It isn't crazy that's just proper food storage stuff if your food is not on skids and not 2 inches away from the wall it won't freeze properly and will taste bad when cooked.
The storing procedures are pretty common for restaurants. At Arby's we have a similar procedure for storing the Roast Beef.
I kind of want "DRAIN THE MCNUGGETS" as my phone notification sound now.
They don't want the nuggets to stick together because if they are stuck together, they won't cook all the way through and will need to be thrown out if they are stuck together. Other than that, this is way more complicated than how it's done today. It literally is just dump the whole bag in, make sure none are sticking together, then slap the button and wait.
I worked at McDonald's and the thing that always bothered me was how many people came in complaining of a bone in their nugget

Most likely it's gristle or connecting tissue. Still gross and a choking hazard. Most places will refund the nugs or replace them sight unseen.

Having worked at McDonald's for several years and also Arby's and kfc the big deal about not having the nuggets stick together is probably two things. One to make sure they cook properly so no raw or under cooked areas and two just appearance so theres no holes on the breading coat

As someone who’s town actually gets legitimate frozen Chicken McNuggets shipped to our grocery store, (known as Cuddy chicken nuggets, I’m assuming that’s their supplier), yes. They do stick together. And it is HIGHLY irritating when they do lol. I cook them in an air fryer but now that I have an actual deep frier I’m gonna have to s h a k e t h e b a s k e t as they enter the oil lol. When you cook one of those disgusting clumps of nuggets it tastes like absolute uncooked trasheroni pizza

I got my first job and was expecting to watch an inspirational video like these , nope! Just a giant instructional manual and left in the back for like an hour. Wasn’t told anything and I thought I had to learn all of that by then. Kind of was with the mean manger that was there. Thank god for the other two that actually taught me things.

Anyone who's worked at a McDonald's in the past 10 or more years could tell you that those mcnuggets can stay in the warmer for multiple hours before being served. Is that how they're supposed to do it? No. Are you encouraged to do it anyway? Yes.
Of course I should also say that the McDonald's I worked at, my manager on multiple occasions also encouraged me to overcharge customers. No I'm not joking. It's why I walked out on the place.
