      Underwater kill swimming, it's like plunging on the line in track & field ( happens sometimes).

    We gotta get an under water view of that turn. 😮

    Watching the different strokes in swimming is like watching the 400m in track have different events like the 400m running backward, running on one leg, or sideways shuffle. It’s racing the same distance with arbitrary rules. I know some people love it so kudos to them but it’s silly to me.

    Murphy was fastest and furthest underwater, was not the fastest actually swimming. He was breaking the 15m underwater limit

      He was clearly up before the yellow markers on the lane line. They designate the 15 meter mark.

    Rowdy Gaines voice is so f*king annoying. when is NBC going to replace him?

      I hope, never. He's too key a part of the history...

      You are entitled to your objectively wrong opinion I guess. Rowdy is a legend and the voice of swimming.

      @DW11111 @DW11111 lol maybe you should learn some history of the sport you watch. He's in the Olympic Hall of Fame and had 10 world records when he was active in the sport in the 80's.

    • @Q-bal
      @Q-bal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DW11111 I mean he's been the commentator for the Olympics since 1992 so on the side of "not doing a good job with commentating", we have: You, and some people on TH-cam, and on the side of "doing a pretty good job commentating" we have: virtually the rest of the entire swimming world.
      So, sounds good, keep your objectively wrong opinion 🥰

    • @Q-bal
      @Q-bal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DW11111 Burden of proof is on you to find a sizeable group of people, other than two people whining on TH-cam, who actually think he's a shit commentator.
      And figure out something else to reply back with, if I wanted my own comeback I would have scraped it off your mom's chin.

    Underwaters should be limited at 8-10 meters; Murphy would'nt have won; same Phelps trick ! some swimmers swim, other dive underwater. Mark Spitz swam 90m out of 100 ( 5 start, 5 flip turn); nowadays : 70/100 : 15 start, 15 flip turn. everyone should race same distance, like in track & field

    • @Q-bal
      @Q-bal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why?

    • @neb7026
      @neb7026 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      No. They all race the same distance. Everyone is allowed up to 15m on the underwaters, it's just that Murphy is the best at it. It's up to the other competitors to improve their underwaters. It's not like Murphy has an unfair advantage.

    • @jaimecorvus6373
      @jaimecorvus6373 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@neb7026 unfair rules are at last changing : Pankratov could swim dolphin kick 25m underwater : they reduced to 15m; body suit permitted establish 200m free at 1:42 ( Bidermann); they suppressed all that stuff in 2009, black to swimsuit. see?

    • @jaimecorvus6373
      @jaimecorvus6373 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Q-bal why not ?

    • @Q-bal
      @Q-bal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jaimecorvus6373 Because a limit already exists, it's 15m and you just don't like it, and restricting faster swimmers at a certain aspect of the race because they're significantly better than others is a stupid reason to bend the rules around it, that's FINA logic and it hinders progression of the sport.
      Katie Ledecky breathes every stroke during the 1500 and she's 20 seconds faster than the next closest competitor. Should we restrict breathing patterns to every 3 strokes to try to even that playing field? Dressel has a 41 inch vertical and a better start than every other swimmer, should we restrict how far he can drive off the block before it's a DQ?
