I spoke to Daniel last year and he said that he was not aware of anyone seriously trying cod fishing in the area. It would be a hell of a catch though!

The cod look amazing i see there was loads of fish lice on the last big cod
From my point of view, this was a little bit slow and lacked a bit of backbone/story Not particularly engaging and felt like it was more of an advert for the fishing company.
I know this wasn't a Martin Bowler film but the fleeting moments he was on screen, he seemed off the pace and lacked enthusiasm. Compared with his old Passion For Angling etc films, which I adored.
On a plus, the cinematography for this was next level, absolutely stunning. Hats off to the person behind the camera, a serious talent there!

I'm not condoning Martin Bowler's "conduct". However, the re-hooking, the replaying and re-landing of fish for the sake of a better shot when recording and producing an angling show for TV and promotional videos has gone on for decades.
It was one of the many gripes Chris Yates and Bob James had when recording Passion For Angling.
This criticism of Martin Bowler is nothing more than a witch hunt and is typical of modern society's "cancel culture".
If you were in Martin Bowler's position, or any other professional angler for that matter, where your job, your livelihood and your mortgage depends on doing what a TV Exec, or producer demands that you do, then, you would do it.
A high profile carp angler, who owns and operates his own bait company, was asked to do a similar thing when recording for TV. He refused. Cut a long story short, he's never worked in TV again. But he has his bait company to fall back on. Martin, and other pro-anglers in a similar position, don't have that luxury.

Do you mean the usual Norwegian cod or the migratory ones we see here called Skrei?
@@MrKveite1 either, I know Martin is more of a coarse all rounder, but, more sea fishing videos of this quality on fishflix could tempt me to subscribe. Would love to see more skrei cod action and tactics, but equally, I would be very happy to see normal cod, halibut and most of all coalies on surface lures😍🥳 I do love Martin’s and Laurence’s films they are beautifully shot and balanced, so more sea fishing content and I will subscribe.
There are loads of vids from north Norway here on youtube covering theese requests so it's just a mather of start watching. Open your youtube and type Coalfish on topwater. That gives you some hrs of fun:)@@bassblanker5359

I love his films, just reminds me of the all time classic Passion for Angling, so happy to support him if he has Sea Angling content.
As to the recent furore I couldn’t give a toss, we stick hooks in fish for our kicks so who am I to hold the moral high ground🤷♂️ We all make mistakes, sure he wouldn’t do it again, so we move on.
