this is probably the best tutorial on how to fly in manual mode - thanks.. still going to use my motion controller but will probably try this on the avata 1
HEY this is the BEST video for DJI specific FPV manual mode there is. This is exactly what I needed (confidence from your encouragement) to get me to order that FPV controller. Top quality, great pacing, gentle intro music, tight on time… A+ work.
Finally? There are tons of them on here, an most will point you to a simulator first, that way you aren't crashing expensive drones right out the gate.
This video should be on the DJI website because you perfectly explained the process of making the settings changes as well as good information on how to progress towards manual/acro mode and on battery number six I have flown about half of a battery on full acro mode. You should get paid a lot for this video. It’s incredible, so thank you again!
On all of the channel you are the only one who explained very well from basic to pro. You really understand what a newbie is. You are a good teacher! From Philippines.
I am a newcomer to the Drone world, I have the Air 3 and the Avata 2, I have watched hundreds of videos with information about how to fly and how to use the remote controller, but this explanation tutorial is the best, clearly spoken , with very useful tips. Thanks for this video
I couldn't agree more with all the other comments, this is by far the simplest, most direct, and overall best tutorial video on how to get into full manual with the AVATA 2. It's even better than all those famous FPV dudes that we all know of. I'm fully subscribed and watching all the videos on this channel. Heck, I spend more time watching this channel than flying my AVATA 2! Thank you!
Thank you very much man for this video, I'm getting close to manual control of the Avata2 right now. Hours and hours on the simulator but I was still anxious... Knowing that the pause button also works in manual mode is a great breath of fresh air. Thank you
Just grabbed Avata 2, I held out through the Beast OG FPV, and Avata, living vicariously through your adventures. Avata 2 looked to be a great learning manual drone, and I grabbed the Controller 3 upfront, so I could start the journey. It really takes you through baby steps, beginner, normal, sport, manual with attitude limits (this is the last hand-holding you will get, after this, you have the COM, Mr. Sulu. (some OG Star Trek references for the old and gray, but ready to fly crowd! Thanks Xavier, you have passed along some GREAT wisdom over the years, and no exception here.
Sunday morning in the UK. Just watched that with my coffee and smiled nearly all the way through. Fantastic. That's just how I want to be 'taught'. You deliver instructions like a human and very easy to understand what you mean. You broke it down so simply. I have been out this morning already to shoot in Sport mode and I sort of 'cheat' the manual look by using the gimble movements. I can't wait to get back out and try these three simple steps. Subscribed.
You should be the first thing what people see and hear when they buy a new drone from DJI Like mandatory to watch before use type of tutorial... Well done 👏
I'm a youtube junkie and have watched hundreds of vids for my photography business, drones, home repairs, whatever. This instruction video for the Avata is the best one ever. I'll feel a lot more confident when I power up my Avata when it arrives in a few days. How about some tips for interior flights?
I watched 20+ videos about the Avata 2 and you are the only one explaining about the joysticks and that the drone will keep going up and down. I’m pretty that surprised a few newbies. Gonna save this video for later. I’m hopping to grab one in a week or two when they are back in stock at my local Best Buy!
thank you ,thank you, you are absolutely diamond 💎. I've literally just purchased one of these drones and this controller. I watched many other TH-cam channels and I ended up crashing my brand-new drone ( no damage done it just flipped over when trying to takeoff ) because nobody has made it clear as you have. Didn't even mention about adjusting the springs on the left stick.. your clear instructions and the way you repeat yourself over and over personally I feel is great 👍 some people might be put off by it for the other TH-cam channels just go through Too quick for me personally to process .. so a big thumbs up from me ... I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this video and I will be subscribing to your channel now 👍👍🙏
Xavier, I have high hopes for you to finally learn FPV. I tried the DJI FPV some time ago and completely failed in manual mode. Unfortunately I gave up. Now I have the Avata 2 and am starting a new attempt with your help. Carry on. GREAT TUTORIAL SO FAR!!! Thank you so much.
The PERFECT how to video for guys (or girls) like myself who have seen the videos of people diving down waterfalls and thinking… I WANT TO DO THIS!!! But have no idea how. Brought the Avata 2 a few days ago but haven’t been brave enough to unlock manual mode until watching this video as all other videos I’ve seen have been too complicated or rushed through. Thank you! Looking forward to the follow up!
Ordered the controller today & am really looking forward to to flying manual the way you’re instructing us! Been watching you for years & always learn something…
So what stick mode are you in ? Left stick is elevate and descend and Turn left and turn right. Correct?? Right stick is forward and backward and Go left and Go right. Correct? Thank you for confirming X
Thank you so much, I like your own way to teach us how to fly in M mode. Many fpv experts just tell us that we have to spend a lot time on playing simulation first, that’s sooo bored!
Thanks X!! I tried my first manual steps in my second flight with no plan, it was disappointing because I thought I'll be good, because I'm good in the simulator 😅 Reality told me the truth. Now I got plan with your video, thanks Bro! Greetings from Germany!
Liked your tutorial a lot. Got my avata 2 with the motion controller and still waiting for my controller to try the manual mode. Your video helped me a lot to see what it looked to be in a manual mode. This is my first fpv drone.😂
I just bought my remote 3 for my Avata 2 because I wanted more control of it and this video literally popped in my feed…what a blessing lol keep making very simple videos like these for the avata 2…you explain things super well! You gained a subscriber!
You know very well how to teach people things, my friend. Essentially, people do not want to know what to do, but how they can prevent a mistake they might make. So people can be braver. This is a great video! Subscribed.
@xavier please mention the exact video which we should watch after this! This is too good and we need guidance right after this.. unable to use manual mode!
You make it sound so easy. I got my controller yesterday for the avata 2. Went through a couple batteries with the springs and noticed how much more control I have compared to the motion control...although the motion control is fun ;). Do I only un-spring the left stick and not the right?
This is litterally the best training video I've seen since months. Very good explanations, even english is not the native language. Thank you very much Bro.
Great video! I flew FPV from 2010-2020, got burned out and am re-entering with the Avata 2. The pause button is amazing! I would love to build FPV rigs again but I spent more time messing with firmware and tuning than flying!
This was an amazing lesson thank you so much!!! Can’t wait to practice! Been using the sim because I was too intimidated but you made it seem real straight forward!!
Thanks for this video! Such an eye opener. What I experienced as a bit scary is that when switching from normal and sport mode the left stick feelt much more sensitive/responsive. I will practice more with the spring load removed in normal i guess. but i also need to find the setting in the simulator that my stick is not recentering automatically
I watched hundreds of DJI Avata 2 video and this is the best controller tutorial I've watched! Thank you X! +1 subscriber! My RC3 will be delivered tomorrow, I will use this video as my guide to manual mode.
Thank you very much Sir, i am a newbie at fpv drone, so this video is so helpful, instantly subscrine your channel, and hope the tutorial video for editing video, exporting video, and last for uploading to IG reel or tiktok video. Once again, thanks very much Sir
Wow…got the A2 and remote control 3 but didn’t find a video anywhere explaining like this. Great steps and I feel way more comfortable following your steps vs others.
Man I was having troubles finding out how to swap it into manual, watched the whole video and feel much better with the idea of new pilots getting into it. Great teacher
These are great tips don't get me wrong but I would highly recommend to practise in a simulator like Liftoff. Get comfortable there first then try manual mode.
Thanks for this very clear and easy to understand about how to set the stick and what it exact do ,,,I saw other video's where they call it a BUG but it's not ,,,it's all about the pilot and understand it BEFORE flying ,not after crashing ,it helps me to maybe safe my drone with this proper settings ,,, thanks a very big thanks not only for me but also many others .. This guy knows what he's talking about .
I don’t really comment, but this video has been a gold mine for me, I have been looking for video like this to learn manual, and u smashed it… thank you… very informative
Great job explaining this , thankyou . I just got my controller 3 today and your vid is the only one that made me not confused , tomorrow after work go to try what you recommended . Can’t wait
Hey Xavier, Nice howto! Which control mode is it (1,2 or 3)? Cause i thought the left stick should throttle and the right stick is the one for altitude!?
Excellent video , thanks- best tutorial ever!! Now i wanna save up for a A2 and dare to try fly manual after years of flying ”normal DJI drones” God bless Brother 🙏❤️
This also works on Avata 1 & DJI FPV 💪

Please continue learn
May I ask what park this is?
Pre ordered the controller for my avatar 2 so now while waiting i got myself a cetus x to fly and sim (with the cetus controller)
Your the best wow incrodeble !! Impress
DJI should pay you to do their instructional videos. After watching your videos the last 4 years, you are truly the best.
this is probably the best tutorial on how to fly in manual mode - thanks.. still going to use my motion controller but will probably try this on the avata 1
HEY this is the BEST video for DJI specific FPV manual mode there is. This is exactly what I needed (confidence from your encouragement) to get me to order that FPV controller.
Top quality, great pacing, gentle intro music, tight on time… A+ work.
You cannot use the motion controller with manual mode
FINALLY, a decent tutorial for flying the Avata 2 in manual mode. With thanks.
THIS MAN IS A BEAST!
Finally? There are tons of them on here, an most will point you to a simulator first, that way you aren't crashing expensive drones right out the gate.
Breaking it down like a dad teaching a kid how to fish. Exactly what we need when jumping into full manual. Thank you!
great dad
This has to be the greatest drone ever to learn to FPV. The pause button is a life saver.
This video should be on the DJI website because you perfectly explained the process of making the settings changes as well as good information on how to progress towards manual/acro mode and on battery number six I have flown about half of a battery on full acro mode. You should get paid a lot for this video. It’s incredible, so thank you again!
Thank you so much! This is the best and most helpful video for manual flying with the Avata 2.
after weeks of trying different sims this tutorial is probably the best and easiest way to learn manual mode. Hats off to you sir
This is actually the best tutorial and tips I've seen. Most people just jump straight into manual flight.
Dude why can't anyone else teach this as easily as you do. I've asked pilots and they can't teach, nice work. I feel like i know what to do now
I just got done a good session following these 3 simple steps. Ready?
Step 1 2 and 3: listen to Xavier.
On all of the channel you are the only one who explained very well from basic to pro. You really understand what a newbie is. You are a good teacher! From Philippines.
This is the best video I’ve seen explaining the step by step training wheel removal process to be able to fly full manual. Thank you bro!

Mostly bloggers saying not much about manual mode, but this video was really helpful, I really appreciate it!
Thank you very much man for this video, I'm getting close to manual control of the Avata2 right now. Hours and hours on the simulator but I was still anxious... Knowing that the pause button also works in manual mode is a great breath of fresh air. Thank you

Well done 👏
The best ever tutorial for those to learn manual mode. You taught us like we were babies just learning to walk. Nice sir. You earn my respect 🫡
I just got the avata2 a couple of days ago. It's my first drone.
I'm going to learn fly manually.
Great videos
I’m about to switch to M, so I’ve watched many tutorials, and I have to say yours is the best. Thanks for making these videos!
This was the best video on getting into manual mode with the Avata 2 i saw to this day. Thank you for answering many questions i had in my head!
I'm a youtube junkie and have watched hundreds of vids for my photography business, drones, home repairs, whatever. This instruction video for the Avata is the best one ever. So, we can switch the mode directing?
If i lost the orientation?
You caught me by this great video i should give 5 stars because you made it so fit to me to fly in manual mode! Thanks My Friend!
As a dyslexic, this video is perfect, the video with controller split, gives everything perspective.
I watched 20+ videos about the Avata 2 and you are the only one explaining about the joysticks and that the drone will keep going up and down. I’m pretty that surprised a few newbies. Nice sharing, this is important to people want to learn and enter Manual mode on avata, for minimize the crash potential,
So what stick mode are you in ? Left stick is elevate and descend and Turn left and turn right. Correct?? Right stick is forward and backward and Go left and Go right. Correct? Thank you for confirming X
Finally, a decent guide. Thank you man. I read and watched tons of DJI rubbish guides and had no idea what manual mode was.
Thanks for showing what happens when you move the sticks in each mode and pausing in flips to show what happens. Helped me alot.
Absolutely the best video I’ve found . Thank you so much it was extremely helpful

I was unsure if getting the FPV rc or not, I guess you made me sure that's the next step
You make it sound so easy. I got my controller yesterday for the avata 2. Went through a couple batteries with the springs and noticed how much more control I have compared to the motion control...although the motion control is fun ;). Do I only un-spring the left stick and not the right?

Thank you bro bought avata 2 to break into FPV zone. This video really helped and will be used in the future.
Wow that aircraft shadow going across the park 09:56 nice capture!
Indeed you absolutely 200% correct! Good job!
Great video! I flew FPV from 2010-2020, got burned out and am re-entering with the Avata 2. The pause button is amazing! I would love to build FPV rigs again but I spent more time messing with firmware and tuning than flying!

I gotta admit I gave up flying manual until i saw this video. Now I'm committing to trying it again
You got it brother
This video was extremely helpful. Thank you for this content.
Good tutorial! I like how you have the kind of faded split screen so the viewer can see the stick inputs for the various moves. Good vid!
These are great tips don't get me wrong but I would highly recommend to practise in a simulator like Liftoff. Get comfortable there first then try manual mode.
The best tutorial flying manual mode on avata 2. Hands down 🙌🏻
Have you put out part 2 yet? This video is fantastic!
This is an EXCELLENT tutorial on flying manual mode (I own both Avata 1 and 2.) Great job!!
fantastic explanation, cant wait for lesson 2, well done
Xavier, this is a FANTASTIC video and tutorial…. Thank you sir….
Thanks bro, normal and sport mode in Avata 2 too simple.
Now I’ll go try manual mode after playing in the simulator, thanks for the information🙌🏼
