I just had the Avata 2 delivered to me today. I am never going back to analog :D . The video quality and the goggles are amazing. Im not sure Im gonna like this motion controller. Only flown for about 10 mins so have not given it a fair shake yet. More than likely going to order the FPV controller. Just hard to plunk down 200$ for what should be a 60 or 70 controller after dropping 1200$.
I love the motion controller. It's so much more intuitive and relaxing. The controller 3 is pretty nice, but the sticks feel really clunky compared to what I'm used to. When you're moving around the sticks, they have weird resistance when you switch to the other direction.

Thanks for the great video. I started with the Aquilia 16 that I saw in one of your videos. I’ve been flying R/C since I was 13 when built my first Cessna’ish high wing trainer with a .40 OS 2stroke and a 4 Channel Airtronics Tx. I’m just giving background that I think is the cause of the problem I’m having. Starting with the Aquilia 16 VFR(without goggles) is gravy. I’m having a huge problem with the goggles . Partly the camera angle needed love so I pulled it apart, fixed the mounting and clearanced some plastic. That made a big difference. So I kept finding things to fix. I replaced the monopole wire antenna on the video Tx module with an inverted F and pushed the power up. So now the quality of the video is perfect, but I still can’t stand having the goggles on my face. Is it still FPV flying if I’m flying the drone while displaying the video feed on my 50” Garage Flat screen TV. I’m serious about the TV… It wasn’t hard to do and it’s so much more comfortable. Do you know of any way to desensitize myself to the goggles, short of wearing them around town..? Any wisdom will be greatly appreciated

Hey there, I want to buy the avata 2 as my first fpv drone. I have flown a bit with the avata remote controller 3 in liftoff. I also downloaded in the workshop the a2 model for the sim. From your experience do you find sims accurate in terms of feeling ? When I’ll fly in M mode will it be the same feeling as the sim ? Thanks for your video it helps a lot
The answer is “Nope, not the same”…. But, it is better than nothing & will cut your learning time by 80% so everything will make sense on your first flights.
A quick question if possible, I currently have a DJI Mini 3 Pro but am very interested in flying FPV. Am i better spending more money and getting an Avata 2 with longer flight times and the ability to go into Manual mode when I am confident. Or should i spend less and get a Easymax Tinyhawk 3 for example. I know this is a hard question, but just wondering your opinion?
Oh God… I have learned that people who come from flying DJI camera drones like mini and mavics do very poor when attempting to fly FPV and even worse when the technology in front of them is not made by DJI. For this reason, go with the AVATA 2.
Great Tutorial. Learning a lot on Man mode. Got a question? What speed does the A2 descend in a dive in MM ? Is the angle of camera forward and drone is falling forward straight down in MM? Is the angle much steeper vs Sport mode in a dive?
Hey Captain!! Thanks for the video, really great tutorial. One question that I have to you, I'm already piloting it in manual mode for some weeks and I always notice some strange moves when I do more fast turns, did you face it too? I'm a little bit scare of trying more bold moves because it always happens to me, and most of the times I need to press the pause button because sometimes it just turns upside down from nowhere. I hear some people saying that had this issue, but it has happened a lot to me.
If you go back and watch the very first videos of the DJI AVATA 1, you’ll see everyone used this software and made plenty of vids about it. If you are confused, I suggest you go watch them.
Having flown numerous aircraft with ailerons, elevator, power and rudder,I see a similarity between my planes in coordinated turns using rudder and power on the left and on the right is my ailerons and elevator... Close ?
Good tutorial, but i want to add that you can use the new controler on the Dji simulator. I just had to download it from the website to my tablet or phone
Thanks for the heads up buddy. I still only own the Mini 3 Pro and I want the avada 2 but everyone keeps trying to talk me out of it as a first-time fpv I think it would be perfect
Does anyone know any other sim you can use with the goggles like this? The Dji sim looks nice but cannot be used with the gear that comes with avata 2.
the only thing is... no way to use the virtual flight app with the new motion controler and googles with AVATA 2 on a Mac. Also software like Uncrashed does not give you the right settings for AVATA2. Any solution? Thanks a lot in advance
As noted in the video, DJI does not support the Avata 2 within the DJI Virtual simulator. Also, no simulators outside DJI use the Motion controller because that is not an item that exists in the real FPV Drone world (it’s just a DJI Thing). If you owned an RC hobby transmitter like the RADIOMASTER Pocket then you could play any sim. Also there are next to no sims that would have the Avata 2 as a drone, you have to practice on a real FPV Drone that has no beginner assistance (I.e., no such thing as Beginner NORMAL/SPORT modes).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 but did you not train with the controler in the video? Confused. I see videos people training with some sim, because without training into manual mode... I will kill it instantly ;-)
I just got my rc controller today, Ive done the setup but I barely have any throttle, it's so bad that I can't even recover ftom a small dive. Is there any throttle settings I can adjust?
That never happens unless you change settings. If you changed settings you may have messed things up, or you are stuck in beginner mode still. You can always go into the goggles and do a joystick calibration.

In case you are unaware. Mode 2 is the most popular stick mode in the RC hobby, followed by Mode 1. Mode 3 is the minority so you’ll find it difficult to find popular channels on TH-cam flying Mode 3.
Short answer: mode 3 is mode 1 with a different software setting in the remote or drone. (Yaw and roll switched) Just remove the spring tensioner on the other side of the remote. If you have chosen mode 3 because you have flown model airplanes for 30 years in mode 1 and someone told you you should fly helicopters or quadcopters/drones in mode 3 (like I was): You do not have the muscle memory yet for flying FPV quads manually due to the funny camera angles from just using rudder and needing combined input, not from flying mode 1 airplanes, mode 3 helicopters or mode 3 DJI drones (I was there).
