    Great tutorial on how to set-up your Avata 2 for full manual mode. I'm glad you a chance to fly the Avata 2 in manual mode using the new FPV controller 3. And you did great for your first time, at least as long as you stayed away from those trees, LOL. I love that FPV course you set up there, nice for testing out new FPV drones. Great video, and thanks for sharing John.

    I just ordered the controller for manual mode. Had quite a bit of fun in sport with motion controller but I want a little more out of it.

      You’ll love it if you want to be able to take full advantage of every possible thing you can do with the Avata2. Having the controller will also let you get to a much higher top speed which is critical for chase footage.

    Nice video thank you! If you don’t disable M Mode attitude limit, will this stop it from flipping please? I don’t need to do flips etc but would like the speed of manual mode, so would that be best for me please?

      @@GeorgeKopp It seriously does feel harder to pull some of these moves off with the Avata 2 compared to the Avata 1, actually. Throttle is touchy as well. It's capable but really needs a lot more gas to get through any of it.
      Must be partly less thrust from the 3-blade prop on t he 2 vs the 5-blade on the 1.

      I flew the Avata 1 manual mode, I honestly did far better with the Avata 1 freestyle. You can see that experience here: th-cam.com/video/BSc0cVfWmNI/w-d-xo.html

      Cool to see you around man! Yeah, these drones are not designed with this in mind, but it's fun to test the limits.
      There's something about manual mode on this drone that feels harder to fly for me than the Avata 1. I can't put my finger on it... it shouldn't have been so hard to get that gate power loop low to the ground. Maybe I just need to spend more time with it.

    When you adjust the screws does it change the normal and sport control or feel, like out of the box?

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, it's going to change the feel for those modes as well, but you will still not be able to flip the drone upside down in those modes. They retain their safety mechanisms.
      Only now, you do need to be slightly more mindful of the fact that you cannot just let go of the throttle stick in a panic and expect it to center itself.
      I actually everyone comfortable on sticks should just use it this way because it's much more relaxing and makes sense to not have a throttle that is constantly flighting you on an FPV drone like this.

  • @DadRandom
    @DadRandom หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Has a bit of trouble getting through powerloops. You definitely need to adjust the rates for rolls. Problem is there’s no adjustment for throttle. 😢

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah… it feels harder to pull some of these moves off with the Avata 2 compared to the Avata 1. Throttle is touchy as well.
      I’d like to try flying them back to back, to really see if it’s just me or not.
      This was my first try in manual mode though sooo yeah.

    I tried to land in manual, hit the landing a little hard, it started bouncing like crazy, flipped upside down and I couldn’t shut the damn motors off! Happen to anyone else?

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes. Always just flip to normal mode and land that way. I've had this happen as well. The 'little hard' landing causes the flight controller to freak out, and it's very sensitive.

      Sorry for not doing that - I would check out Joshua bardwell’s freestyle tutorial series if you’re looking for content like that.
      Trying to replicate stick movements from a fast paced freestyle video is actually very difficult anyway.
      He goes through how to do multiple different types of moves in much more depth and longer detail than I ever could in an 8 min video just demoing the capability of the Avata 2.

      @JohnCuppi  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah, in full manual mode it can wipe out in hard turns. Other people have confirmed it too. I actually had the "tumble" happen to me last year with the Avata 1 over water, that was a scary situation but I was prepared for it. th-cam.com/video/MLG5oLKDI04/w-d-xo.html

      @@MoeDefinitely901 My favorite prebuilt cinewhoop at the moment is the GepRC Cinebot30. Love how that quad flies, and I just added a GPS to mine.
      Avata 1 or 2 is going to be a great starting point though for 99% of people who have never touched any fpv quads and are just looking to get their feet wet. It's also entirely capable for cinematic shots without ever having to go full manual.
