i used to love going for sunday drives back in my home town, but now that i live in a big city my anxiety is too much to be able to handle driving for fun anymore, so im kinda interested in getting a wheel just to put around in the game and have a nice peaceful drive again. doing it with the gamepad doesnt really do it for me, but i think having the actual wheel would help the immersion greatly

Try T248 instead you can find it cheaper than it should be and it's much stronger than G29 and G923.

when i played asseto corsa it had extremely powerful feedback and people also say it has strong feedback on beamng drive
I spent almost 2 days to find out FF to work well in Forza 5 on g920 and now racing, drifting is pleasure. I have good feeling of how car behave. When I 1st time plugged it and start drive, it was frustrating me very much, no realizm at all, but now after adjusting it is perfect and easy, a specially i love to go fast colossus ot goliath run with Lambo or mercedes nearly 400Km/h. The only thing I need is load cell on brake to have better precision on brakes

Yes. It'll work with 7 or more gears if your H pattern shifter can't go that hogh.

i have put a solid 150 hours into fh5 with a g29. and it take a bit getting used to i would recommend changing the opperating range of the wheel so it matched the car. you use. now quick headsup they are loud. after about 50 hour of using a g29 its classed as "worn in" and not as long but u can still hear alot of clunking and ratteling from it. the g27 was better in that point of view,
this setup is amazing i have it myself definitely worth it if you are a beginning and experienced driver too 🔥

My son got a g29 for his birthday. We bought a Ras1ution converter to go with his xbox one so he could play forza 5 when he was bored of gran turismo 7. He spent months playing forza 5 without any issues whatsoever. A few weeks ago he encountered an issue for the first time while playing forza. The wheel/buttons/pedal and gear shift all work, but when entering to playing the game itself, it has randomly stopped vibrating and registering off road sensations. There is also a complete loss of force feedback with the steering wheel but it is still responsive to the inputs you make.
We thought it could be the converter so we bought the ras1lution 2. The exact same issues are still there. We have also tried firmware updates , which again have not done anything.
Its a long shot but we were just wondering if anybody else has encountered this?
Just cant get our heads around the fact that it worked for around 3 months and has now randomly stopped working.
Any advice or info would be great. Thanks.

I'm having an issue with my G923 where there IS force feedback but when wanting to drift it doesn't 'Self Steer' how a real car is supposed to and how it does in Assetto Corsa. It just centres the wheel when I'm in a drift and I have to FORCE the counter steer instead of the wheel self counter steering how it should and me catching it, how do I fix this?

I bought FH5 a couple of days ago and it is my first ever Forza Horizon so I have no experience with it. I'm also using a G29 and have some strange steering issues. My wheel starts to feel kinda hard to steer past cca 90° each direction. Since I'm completely new to Forza Horizon world my question is, is it normal?
I really don't know, it happens even with force feedback and stuff set to minimum.
I'm afraid of breaking my wheel trying to steer normaly...

The in-game settings for Center Spring Scale and Wheel Damper Scale are seem to be locked at determined value so I had to use Logitech software itself to adjust these settings.
Since there is no option for either damper or center spring strength in G Hub I had to go to the Registry Editor and edit those there. On default they are set to maximum but I've changed it to 20% and now the steering in FH5 is so much lighter but the Force Feedback is weak. Tbh I don't care that much for ffb cuz I don't want it to break my wheel...
Until devs find a solution to this I think it's the best we could do...

I just got my g29 today, never had a wheel, why is it in Forza so stiff to steer left and right, I did change the centering setting but nothing has changed, both in game and in Logitech g hub

i got a logitech g29, i have no experience with steering wheels. I thought the force feedbak wasn't strong at all, but sometimes the steering wheel won't let me turn and make weird noises, is that how it should be or can the steering wheel break down. regardless of the force feedback and strange sounds I turn and turn the steering wheel, is that normal or?when force feedback is strong I am afraid of breaking the steering wheel
I had owned my g29 (with shifter) for over 4 years.
On the PS4, I played mostly Driveclub, then after a good 2-3 year period, I tried out Project Cars.
Transitioning from a arcade racing game to a sim-arcade allowed me to experience different force feedback, vibrations, etc..
Then I transition to Assetto Corsa.
I notice the force feedback compared to Project Cars was more lively, realistic and thus provide a more immersive enjoyable experience.
Nevertheless, in terms of in game physics and force feedback.
Assetto Corsa > Project Cars > Driveclub
However, this depended on your wheel settings on each game, but you will gain a more realistic feel from Assetto Corsa.
The wierd noise you mention may just be the motors doing their work, ( as to be expected).
In addition, I sometimes hear a highly-pitch squeak sound when I full-lock the steering wheel to either direction when force feedback is in place when playing.
Not that big of a deal, I think it is something of a strain to the mechanism of the motor. Albeit my wheel still functions fine.
When force feedback is strong, as long as you are appropriately turning the wheel and not exhilaratingly placing loads of stress on the wheel then you're good. You won't break your wheel.
Also important to acknowlede the limitations of the G29/G920 wheels.
Belt-gear mechanism:
The force feedback won't be as realistic to your games full capacity due to the nature of this wheel.
You will get info on slips, grip, terrain and more on this wheel, but not on too high a detail. ( This also depends on the game you play and your wheel settings).
Low power:
You will notice that when you lose control when driving, your wheel will rotate to either side at it's own "Pace".
I intently highlight "Pace" because the slow wheelspin on this wheel is due to low power output of this wheel.
This affects things like drifts.
In real life, the wheel will spin insanely faster.
Therefore you will need a more proficient wheel to simulate this more realistically.
Low Torque:
Albeit, could've have gone under 'Belt-gear mechanism', but I want to specify this propely without any hindrance to understanding.
The torque of this wheel is around 2-3 Nm ( Newtom-meters)
So you won't feel a lot of force feedback compared to more of the higher-end wheels.
Overall, being your first wheel it's not bad but not great.
However, it's good enough to get the job done and to have a pleasant ride in whatever driving game you're playing.
If you do decide to upgrade, you will appreciate the value of the G29, despite it's setbacks.
But enjoy a more immersive wheelbase.
(PS, I know this is long as Fuck, but from my long-term experience from owning this wheel I hope I was able to inform you with helpful information). ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Now I'm used to the steering wheel, when I bought it I was afraid to drift because while drifting it's hard to turn the steering wheel, but it's still normal and I think it can't damage the steering wheel. How much was your force feedback in the driveclub if you remember, the default is 70%, I reduce it to 40-50% because as I said I have no experience and I don't know how hard I can turn the steering wheel despite strong force feedback, I saw people driving and with 100% force feedback so I think it’s all good and not dangerous for the steering wheel.

I just bought a g29. The steering is really stiff. Is that normal? To the point it gives me a difficult time driving the vehicle. However, at low speeds... it seems to work fine but oversteers sometimes.
Im playing forza 5... i reached over 70mph... the vehicle steering is stiff... extremely stiff. And moving on its own. Assisted steering is off. I adjusted my springs to 0 in the G hub... but it's still so stiff...
How is the actual steering of a g29 suppose to feel like?

I have a question. Does the clutch work? Looks like the shifting is irrelevant to the clutch.
it does work, but as it being a Forza game, you can still shift without the clutch, although it will damage the transmission ONLY if you have the "Simulation" setting turned on for car damage.
Do you need your keyboard or can you use the steering wheel to select options in game?

You need to get into your G-Hub Settings. Range and sens.. Try out Range: I use 250 ( 250-350 ) instead of 900. and 23/100 sensitivity. It will work much better and u can control the car easily :)
Does it feel a little silly with such a short wheel range? I didn't like how it felt on Forza horizon 4 so I'm hesitant on buying this one
@@Locito845 a little bit yes, u have to get into it. But if you have a cheap wheel like G29 u wont spin 900' range, for me this is silly.
U have much more control about your car if you use a shorter range. In a real race car u also have shorter range so u dont have to cross your arms. 250' is just before crossing your arms. Sorry for my english hope u understand :D

@bahae eddine it's the same situation in my country, if I could, I would go for the Thrustmaster T300 RS, which costs more than double the G29, and just the Thrustmaster shifter alone costs a tiny bit more than the whole G29 wheel itself. The G29 costs about 1/4 of a senior software engineer's salary over here. Given that our current political situation, the minimum wage is at 178 US Dollars at the moment, doing a direct currency convertion.

Hello, im a ps4 gamer, i have a logitech g29 (ps4/pc) too. But i wanna buy forza horizon 5 on microsoft store. Am i still able to play this game from the microsoft store with this steer. Because its a xbox game basically. Does it still work or wouldnu recommend to buy it on steam?

I think you must map another button at the wheel for shift up and one for shift down to go beyond 6th gear, but I dont have this wheel, so it's only my guess.
