I find the longer the hooklengh on a feeder setup the better, 5-6ft something. They seem to hang a long way back from the feeder in the Cut. I live on the south coast, around an hour for me to get to the Thames..😊👍 Pleased to answer any questions for you bud..😉
This brought back all sorts of memories for me, I used to fish there with my dad and uncles 60 years ago, we used to get Barbel and big Chub in the cut. Me and my brother used to night fish along the river side, yes good fishing along there. Penton hook was the best in my day.
Thanks for the comment buddy. Definitely an early and late season area. I use 5-6ft hook lengths on the feeder around here which chainged everything for me for Silvers. No free offerings at all for the Barbel and Carp just lots of hard fishy paste covering the weight, Boilie and Hook then cast to the middle has worked for me over the years. Thanks bud👍 Bye the way, if you want a chance of a decent Perch there's a spot on the Tidal Thames at the bottom of River Lane just downstream from Eel Pie Island near Kingston. If you stand on the top righthand side of the Slipway wall you'll see a calm water area just in front of you when the tides coming up. Loads of perch can shoal up there at certain times of the year. Also worth fishing up against Eel Pie Island at the bottom of Ham Street just up from the last spot.. Just a thought bud..😊👍

That slope down to the point is dangerous in the wet, going up or down, Times I've slipped over going down, and had to crawl on my hands and knees to come back up! :)

@@classiccustom2652 maybe try Rivermead Car Park opposite Sunbury Ct, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 it's great for parking close, can't remember if there's a hight restriction, there normally 2.1mtrs with some higher ones around this area, definitely worth checking out just incase. Weybridge Point and Parking opposite 114 Thames St, Weybridge KT13 8NG on Walton Lane, fishing into Shepperton Wier has really close parking as well but can be busy though. Can't comment on hight restriction till my next video, i need to check for chaiges when filming as some do & some don't have restrictions. There's a small car park right by the river at the end of Chertsey Bridge on the North side which definitely has no hight restriction, very tight car park though but great fishing..! If you go down Thames Side road opposite Chertsey Bridge car park, towards Layham, park under the M3 motorway bridge there's loads of swims & no hight restriction. Good for Chub and Roach.! Last but not least, swims 1 too 4 on my 1st video on Walton Lane have no restrictions if you can get them. Hope this helps bud.. If you catch let me know..😊👍
Hi MUCKER671, I have watched all your fishing videos, they are great and very informative. Yesterday we went on a reconnaissance trip to the Rivermead and the Old Bathing Station Car Park. The swims on both locations are fantastic, especially that like you I am a bit unsteady on my legs at time. As I do not drive, I can only go by car on weekend as my wife drives. I have found out that both location are easily accessible by public transport. I live in west London, its easy for me to get to Clapham Junction Station and get a train to Hampton (not Hampton Court) and from there catch the 216 bus. This info might be useful to others. When we went yesterday it was incredibly quiet considering how nice the weather was. can you please tell me, from your experiences, how busy do both locations get during the fishing season? Would getting there by 06:00 guaranty a spot? From there we checked out the Aragon Avenue location, that was very busy with peoples enjoying the weather. Thanks for your support it helps a lot.😊 I would definitely give the 16th June a wide berth for at least a week if you can as the swims are quite limited here. (The earlier the better will help but no guarantees). Aragon Avenue is always busy with the general public but the fish don't mind at all (very used to it). More chance of a swim at Aragon.👍If you own or know someone who has a Blue Badge and transport and is available weekends I'd suggest the Blue Badge bays under Walton Bridge as there's no parking time limit apparently (that info's directly from the local Council) plus there's lots of available swims with good access so maybe a bit more chance of a swim close to the 16th. Busy with people if its warm again though.😒 Hope you find what you want on the day and give me a wave if you see me on the river as my new Bellyboat arives today so lots of actual fishing vids of most of the spots I've shown will be coming soon.. Hope this helps you out in some way my friend..😊 Glad to help anytime..😊👍🎣

I am into lures fishing and tend to travel light, just a backpack with my gear in and a chair strapped to it. I actually use a backpack design for photography, so I attach the chair where you would a tripod. the deep side pockets are ideal for my telescopic rods. The best location in term of access so far as been cigarette island and easily accessible by train. We have been going there for picnics on many occasions, I only tried to fish there once, I only recently got back into fishing, retired in September. The areas, your suggested swims before and past Hurst Park are also well known to me as we use to walk from Hampton Court to Walton. as you said in one of your video, and as I noticed there is never any one fishing there, so, that might be better, quitter during the week too. According to my chat plus pictures I've seen on people's phones it can be good for the odd Carp as well. As far as i know that little stretch is free. Hope this helps you out bud..😊👍
You can get down to the swim on the right at second bridge or you used to be able to, there is a gate just opposite where you park and you can walk down there

If i remember correctly the access is pretty bad, if you have or can get the use of a small inflatable tender I'd use it co's the carp fishing looks like it could be amazing.. I walked around Penton Hook Marina looking at some wide beam barges last summer and the carp were absolutely everywhere.. I'd suggest one of the bays or slack spots around the marina entrance, there bound to pile out of the marina on warmer days.. Sorry i don't have much info on it. I'm always tempted bye it when i see it on Google Maps, looks really nice😊👍

Night time is definitely the best on the Thames also when it bursts it's bank's in flood conditions..😊👍 No real bait bans other than fish baits for Pike must be from the Thames or from the sea. I've found over the years that the Eastern side of the island is less busy normally, up to the middle car park, definitely can be busy with dog walkers etc especially at the weekends in summer. Thanks for the input much appreciated..😁👍
Hi, Thanks for your message. One of the main reason for doing these vids is because there's a large population of people in the UK who go on holidays travelling from as far away as Scotland who have difficulties with walking or carrying Fishing Tackle long distances and have no idea how good the fishing and parking access situation can be on the Thames. Also, people who are fairly local to the Thames area have been enjoying the vids as they've brought back memories of them playing in these spots as a child, some have just enjoyed looking at the views etc. Sorry you didn't like the vid, but thanks for your input it's most appreciated.😊👍

Yeah, when i was filming the second half for my next post it gave me flashbacks of the tidal stretch, complete carnage even out of season.. Terrible, needs more bailiffs but the EA have so much too deal with.. Underfunded..😔 Thanks for your comment bud it's most appreciated..😊👍

@@dmspropertysolutions2355 believe me that's not gonna do big damage to fish stock in the river but English comercial fishing boats catch tons of fish daily in the sea will do big damage to ecosystem and fish stock
@@tomaszpralat57 what about the European super trawlers that line the British Isles? I'm not saying all Eastern Europeans eat all the fish as my best friend is polish and doesn't eat fish from the river. But when I've been here I've seen loads of Eastern Europeans taking all fish of any size

I've found over the years that the Eastern side of the island is less busy normally, up to the middle car park, definitely can be busy with dog walkers etc especially at the weekends in summer. Thanks for the input much appreciated..😁👍

One of the main reason for doing these vids is because there's a large population of people in the UK who go on holidays travelling from as far away as Scotland who have difficulties with walking or carrying Fishing Tackle long distances and have no idea how good the fishing and parking access situation can be on the Thames.
Also, people who are fairly local to the Thames area have been enjoying the vids as they've brought back memories of them playing in these spots as a child, some have just enjoyed looking at the views etc.

Hi sorry no i haven't yet, I'll be covering the Tidal stretch in my next couple of vids hopefully. Opposite Eal Pie Island and down stream a bit. I'll look into the access etc for you and do a vid while I'm up that way if you like.
