      Hi my friend, thank you for the nice comment.😊 Can i ask what type of boat i.e is it on a trailer because the only Slipways i know of are quite narrow, for example in my Walton Lane Pt3 & Shepperton Wier Pt11 free fishing playlist. If you own a non Trailered Inflatable it'll give you way more options. That's what I did for years. Here's a useful link for you to check out. electricboatassociation.org/slipways/ lots of useful info.. Hope this helps you out bud..😊👍

    I've been there in the area probably 20 times, not much luck. Don't understand why. Maybe the current is too strong. You get perch but not many pikes. And with so many boats it's even worse. Thanks for showing the spots though, not many do that, like they think someone's gonna steal the water or something.

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks very much for your comment it's really appreciated..👍 Have you fished this area at this time of year.? The only reason why I ask is because the Roach tend to shoal up in large groups in the slacker water around the first left hand bend downstream of the bridge, they tend to attract the Pike. Laleham just upstream can work this time of the year as well.. Not sure if you've tried this technique before, i call it twitching or the lift and draw method. I use a single hook placed through the top and bottom lip of a dead Roach with two to three large Split Shot placed as close to the eye of the hook as possible. I cast as far upstream as possible and let it settle slowly on the bottom, give the bait a couple of twitches or slow lifts then let it settle for a couple of minutes and repeat the process. I'm sure you already know this method but I thought I'd put it out there for you anyway.
      The other method if you have the patience for it is Drop Shotting, i swear by it. I use a heavy duty Fluorocarbon 35lb leader and 12lb Braided Main Line with a 2-inch Eddystone Eel as my lure, find a spot, cast to it and don't move the rig from its spot, just vibrate the line gently for a good few minutes then wind in a bit and repeat.
      It can be a real test of patience as you're not covering much ground but patience is a virtue sometimes..🤞🥴
      I hope this helps you out in some way or maybe gives you some other ideas, if you have questions on any of my vids I'm more than happy to help..
      Fingers crossed for you my friend, good luck and thanks again..😊😊

    Can you fish directly from the campsite into the weir? If so would you need to book with the campsite? Any info would be much appreciated.

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi buddy, I've never asked if you have to be staying on site to fish I'm afraid, I'd imagine you would.? 🤔
      Here's some info if you decide to stay anyway bud..👍
      If you look on Google Maps in the North East corner of the campsite nearest the Wier there's a small overgrown swim that has a tiny wooden platform that you can underarm flick to the main runoff (7ft rod's are best here) it's deep & fast under your feet plus a lovely sand bar in front. Downstream on what's called The Island on the campsite is two other swims, one accessible sometimes the other is a large set of wide high concrete steps to fish in open water. I take long adjustable + short skinny Rodrests, Rodrests capable of being used on concrete ie large height adjustable Rod Pod. (Normal rod lengths on the Concrete steps though).
      Basically pack for all scenarios bud.👍I normally get the tickets from the office on arrival (best check before).
      If you ask when booking the campsite you may be lucky enough to get the pitch that's right next to the Wier. That normally happens when you book within 24 hours of arrival when it's available. I don't think they let you pick Pitches in advance (best check again though). P.s if you do stay on site be aware of the grumpy manager, he's a tyrant when it comes to pitch sizes etc. I hope this helped in some way buddy..😊👍

      Hi, thanks for your input bud.. Its definitely a tight one but I've managed to launched my 3.1mtr inflatable there a few times, you just need to keep a close eye on the submerst metal post, it's only a few inches under the surface in summer levels..🥴🥴

    Hi is there any free stretches in the kingston area and will you be covering these as i live in south london

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, my next couple of videos will be around Eel Pie Island hopefully, using Ham Street Car Park also parking at the end of River Lane, both just off the A307. Really productive free fishing in both these spots but please be aware of the tides as Ham Street Car Park completely floods on a spring tide when there is extra water on the river due to rain. You can park on the verge just outside the car park at Ham Street to get away from most of the water. There's a large slip way at River Lane, It's possible to fish on the right of the slip and on it at night. Great perch fishing near the slip almost under your rod. You can fish the upstream section at Ham Street car park opposite Eel Pie Island all the way down to the River Lane spot. Not many accessible swims but there is the odd Peach. I'd suggest for the first time travelling light and doing a bit of a recce between the two spots. These spots have a long drop to the water at low tide so remember to bring a long landing net extension handle on both stretches. It's great for all species especially Perch at River Lane almost under your feet on the right hand side of the slip. Bream and Carp in the slack area below Eel Pie Island, there's some large steps to use here. Silvers along the edge of the Island. Heavy Backleads are a must as it can be busy.
      Lots of detritus in the river on a spring tide and when the river is in flood, seaweed, branches etc.
      My best advice is to be confident and take it head on here as it can be very frustrating but very rewarding sometimes..
      I Hope this helps you with your fishing quest..🤞
      Thanks for your question, happy to help anytime.😊👍🎣🐟

      @@MUCKER671 thank you are there many barbel in the tidal

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The tidal stretch is definitely one of the best spots on the Thames for a large Barbel (excluding the area between Hampton Court and Sunbury) they thrive in the saline water..
      Definitely try the dropoff off the sand bar below Eal Pie Island, opposite the large set of steps first if you can.
      Normal Carp tactics, but using the fishy paste method that i love to use and no loose feed needed..!
      Not sure if you have seen my other vids on free fishing and parking in my playlists but i show the rig etc near the start of my last upload, Pt16 at Laleham, It's about 2.35 seconds in.
      The river isn't what it used to be, is can be hard at times but when you do find them it's very rewarding.
      Hope this helps you..😊🤞

    Do you catch barbel in the daytime from here or do you night fish it buddy.

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First choice is alway night if you can all over the Thames unless the waters up and really coloured bud.
      I've had smaller Barbel in daylight just upstream from the Bridge and in the slight crease that can form between the Lock & Bridge on occasion but for the best chance in daylight definitely a Dingy to get to the Wier outflow. Big shoals of Bream can keep you busy while you wait.
      Thanks for the comment it really helps..😊👍🎣🐟

      No probs buddy, no offence taken, I'm glad you pointed it out, think my brain was somewhere else when doing the vid. I was editing it at 4am so no surprise there Lol..🥴 I'll probably do a vid on the River & Wier next year as my dinghy decided to spring a leak right on an inner seem which is impossible to fix without stripping off most of the original heavy duty strips of rubber protectors underneath. Shame co's id love to do an actual fishing vid on that spot. Great info by the way..😊👍

      No doubt about it buddy, dingy is the way to go. I've had 80% of all my best catches off a boat, for some reason the angle change in the line seems to help a little bit, I don't think they're as spooked bye it.
