I get super frustrated whenever someone doesn't want to sell something they have out in their store. There's a local 'flea market' I go to, and the lady has tons of video game stuff under tables so I dig through it all just for her to tell me she wanted to wait for someone to come price it for her before she sells the stuff. I also went there one time, and there was a 4k player with no power cord, and she wouldn't sell it to me because of that reason. He must have been hiding something if he didn't want to sell it, or maybe he just had too much sentimental value in it to sell.
I got the SCN (Scandinavian) version of little Samson with a beat up box. Here it's expensive, but not crazy expensive like in America. Around 150-200$.
SCN cib is def not 200. NOE goes for like 900 euros CIB in good condition and SCN is usually a bit more so I'd assume that a beat up SCN CIB copy would go for like 700-800.

I understand being on the fence about selling something, but that is something you figure out before the show, not during. Edit: I like the coin flip for the negotiation haha

Been subbed since under 10k, the growth!
In 2005 I started collecting NES games all over again. I bought a cib Bucky O’Hare with all the ads in the box for 8 dollars. I bought it because I never see it in stores. Now it is worth a lot more lol in 2014 I bought Little Samson for 1000 dollars.
Mistakes happen sometimes with stock, but he should have pulled it the first time you brought it up. One of the worst experiences I ever had a comic con was when the guy decided that every comic I tried to negotiate with him on was no longer for sale.
I’ve had that happen before. Very frustrating. Was at San Diego ComicCon when comics were the thing (late 80s).
Hey, Retro Rick! I am a HUGE fan of this channel! I love the content twice a week!
However, I have a suggestion for you for a future series. Since you have the complete North American GameCube Collection you bought from RetroWolf88, you should make a complete collection of North American PlayStation 1 OR 2 games.
I think he researched the game after day 1, and likely thought he could get more for it off eBay or something.
I mean is that bad? I understand the frustration when someone changes their mind, but also you gotta understand that it's not that easy to part ways from holy grails that are that hard to find.
Would he really get more on eBay after their ridiculous fees?
@@carlosaponte2349 it’s not bad but then he should pull it from the shelves and just say he sold it or something, it sounded like he left out on the table
@@soulden77 yes because it’s selling for more
He'd have to pay around 15% in fees and pay taxes for selling it on ebay
you’re gonna find Little Samson again somewhere and get a killer deal on it, I think it happened for a reason!
As others have said, it's weird that he had an expensive game mixed in with some lower price ones.
I think he looked on ebay and saw the only one listed was for 3500 and the last 1 sold for 4k so he didnt want to sell it for that much less.
Some great finds! I think the end is the best though with you taking the entire condiment counter. I know it's not used but it's still a great aesthetic.
Guess my copy of little samson was a bargain. It came with a NES and 3 boxed games for 200 bucks
You should never use clear bubble wrap on printed circuit boards as they produce static.
When I started collecting games, a complete set back then was CIB and not a complete set with carts...
Hello my friend from Mexico
In your game counter you should put the amount the collection will have when it’s complete. Like 481/10000
Or however many games there is.
Hard to see my personal Holy grail (12:17 sealed Donkey Kong 64 N64 bundle) just sitting there. One day!
We're did you get the art work in your room
I knew I should have bought all those games at the Goodwill back in the day when they were 3 to 5 bucks.
It's not really negotiating if you ask, "what's your best" they give you their "best" and you just say ok. Gotta go for that extra $5 off.
I once changed my mind selling my NES collection including Little Samson. I was not malintentionne, it's just that the enthusiasm surrounding my collection made me doubt that I should sell it.
That is so weird! Why not sale it? I don’t get it. Unless he thought you’d sale it for more later? That’s the only thing I could think of. Super weird though.
But, do you allow people to negotiate sticker price at your store?
Any Sega Saturn games?
It probably means he is still more collector than seller :) and you never know he might have brought it just in case because at the beginning he needed the money, but did good first day, and doesn't have to sell this one which he wanted to keep .
Rick, I’d love to do WhatNot and eBay with you, but you say 48 states. What about US military personnel overseas?
Same as shipping to a NY zip code, just need a customs form, free at any post office.
Just my personal opinion, I think he just didn't want to sell it to YOU. I'm not attempting to justify the action/s, but that's what it seemed like.
My thoughts exactly.. think he decided to be the guy to not sell retro rick a grail!
love that nba jam shirt you have i picked up a project 4 player nba jam arcade for $40 and it’s only missing the marquee and the monitor but i have all the other parts also been watching for a long time love your videos also gonna start posting arcade videos and hunting for games soon keep up good work videos make the day better
always a pleasure when Gabbo hits the screen
I remember playing some of them games when I was a kid I used to call them Nintendo Tapes lol
He gave you a price, you walked away. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
I love that you pay what everyone else will pay.... not just the popular TH-camrs price!
Score any great early 2010's deals Wesley? In 2013, an old chinese lady sold me power blade 2 for 7 Canadian dollars!
I got the SCN (Scandinavian) version of little Samson with a beat up box. Here it's expensive, but not crazy expensive like in America. Around 150-200$.
That’s not expensive
SCN cib is def not 200. NOE goes for like 900 euros CIB in good condition and SCN is usually a bit more so I'd assume that a beat up SCN CIB copy would go for like 700-800.
@@metallicflare1 200$ is expensive for a lose cartridge.
@@trevor245 It's valued around 150-200$ for a lose cartridge. A CIB is a whole different story and it depends on the condition of course.
@@FHC1944 even loose it's more than that. Last one I can find sold for 380 euros on ebay which is a little high but it should be around 250-300.
I'm glad I completed the NES set (minus SE) a year or so ago... For some perspective in October of 2020 I paid $1,500 for Little Samson from a game store in my area. It was the last expensive game (minus SE) that I needed.
I remember purchasing a Dino Riders lunchbox off facebook and was so pumped because I never find Dino Riders merch and then they messaged me and said actually we decided to keep this for our kid....then why was it still available??
Most collectors don't believe another collector has a rare game until they see it.
You guys don't get the expo-style meetups like this. It isn't just a big yard sale... it's also for follow enthusiasts to get together and show off their prized possessions. This happens with every hobby show; vintage electronics, coin shows, etc. Things are priced high as they're not REAAALLLY for sale depending on their mood! 😄
I’m confused. Wasn’t he going for the N64 collection? Is this old?
Hey Rick can what not be in canada ?
I understand being on the fence about selling something, but that is something you figure out before the show, not during.
Edit: I like the coin flip for the negotiation haha
Exactly. Dudes are either incompetent or they were doing something fishy, like counterfiting.
EXCELLENT EPISODE! FANTASTIC!
AND YES I AM YELLING
I picked up Little Samson recently for $1800, talked them down from $2000. They also had Jetsons and I got $150 off that too. Ended up with both games for $2100
