nice not sure why you consider it a starter. veteran campers prefer the lighter spartin unit when heading into remote areas. I’d say beginners require more amenities because they’re not experienced campers.
As an experienced camper, I like the simplicity & utilitarian setup. Except the tires & suspension. Though I don't go off road camping, I like camping on the back roads and need a little better setup to get there and back home.
I am hoping someone can answer my question, what is the difference in the Rockwood R16OTG and the Flagstaff F14OTG? From what I see online they are identical but maybe I am missing something?
Absolutely nothing, the only real difference between all Rockwood and Flagstaffs is the colors/decals. Other than that they are made in the same factory by the same people
@@ryanmcdougall22 yeah, I contacted them, it doesn't come with AC. They did say the dealer could probably install one, but it's not really designed for it.
@@ryanmcdougall22 I didn't speak to the dealer, I spoke to the manufacturer. You are correct, they aren't really built to support an AC, that's why I said they didn't recommend it. There are kits that come with roof supports, etc. So it could be made to work, but it's not a good idea. It doesn't even have the wiring for an AC. People like me, down in the south, this camper is a no go.
A few of the major differences are the MAC series are plumbed for water so they have a 2-3 burner cooktop with a sink, some of them even have a toilet and shower hookup. Other than that, the MAC Series have an AC unit and heater where the OTG's just have a vent fan. OTG's are a hand crank to expand up while the MAC's are power. Also the MAC's have propane OTG's do not. All of this makes OTG's much much cheaper and lighter
