Our first two campers were pop-uo types. The first was a 1969 StarCraft, and the second was a 1975 Coleman. We had two children, a boy and a girl. We enjoyed both campers immensely. (We enjoyed both kids also!) We hauled our campers as far east the Atlantic in Maine and as far west as Montana. After the Coleman, we graduated to an eighteen foot Frolic hard sided camper. We went everywhere in that one. We camped in snow storms and blistering heat. This was my first camper with an air conditioner. What a difference that made!! You have gone the opposite direction! You started out with a hard sided eighteen foot camper and now you have graduated to a Pop-Up. You have had your campers first and now you are starting to have children! After the eighteen foot Frolic, after we were done paying college bills for our two children, we bought a twenty-six foot Jayco. I still love the way you painted your first camper the historic colors. I always looked for that color scheme in the Sunday morning TH-cam releases. Hoping to see you in your pop-up until your baby is born. You then can supplant camper pictures with family pictures. Let us enjoy your baby pictures along with your family pictures!! Do not leave us out, PLEASE!!!
I have Slept through Major Storms in Mine. If you are worried about it Blowing over, you could mount some Ground Anchors. I installed Wooden 2x2's next to my Metal lifting Posts and used Velcro Strips to secure them to Metal Posts then i would ease tension off pulleys just a tad, this will add life to Pulleys and cables--this information was given to me by the Dealers son who was a friend of mine. Also through inside inspection doors. it is a good idea to spray down pulleys with WD-40 before Cranking Up. With just a little Maintenance these Popup Campers will Give you Good Service, I loved mine...
I remember reading someone using wooden supports like you describe in the AZ desert near Quartzsite, where the wind can get fierce. He said he was fine in 40mph winds.
Wow !! First, congrats on the pregnancy!! I was just thinking, you guys have become quite the DIY'ers and its cool to see your projects. Again, congrats on adding to the family!
Congrats you two! Love your videos, have been watching since the first RV Reno and all your travels. Glad you're back doing some videos. Take care of that little growing baby, so exciting 😊.
mold remover you dont have to dilude it at all or scrap it, simply spry all over the place and leave it do its thing, thats how you use it, you dont scrap you dont wipe it off
Just back yesterday from camping beachside san Diego for a week....in a costco tent! Anything cheap I approve of. Hope you guys are kicking ass! Timmy C Arizona
I’ve thought about exactly what you are doing. Pop up’s are easy to pull, provide plenty of privacy. They just aren’t made to last forever. The only suggestion I have is to protect your trailer from mice. Look at ALL THE ROOM YOU HAVE.
Try this with mold, take your bleach/water and just mist it on and walk away. Start small on the ratio, like 15 percent on the bleach. Usually like 10 or 15 minutes and it dies and clears right up. Sometimes if its stubborn might have to hit it again. You don't want to scrub it, just spreading it around. Cool channel, checked it out, I did like 22 nat parks when i retired, so so much too see out west. Oh so must of us have switched back to popups for our deer camps up north (michigan), we use the pink insulation on the cloth ends. Don't ask me what thickness but I'm thinking its 1/2 inch.
A lot of campgrounds in the heart of bear country have a strict policy about not leaving food in a pop up! Must be kept in a hard sided vehicle or bear box. Not sure we’ll be in that situation too often but it’s certainly a valid point!

Haha yes we did go backwards! Hoping to graduate to something even larger than our first rig after this one

Congratulations on the baby! I renovated our pop up while pregnant too at 37 weeks-it’s a work out. But I’m sure when it’s finished it will be lovely!
Dang that’s impressive! My energy is waaay better now than the first trimester but not sure I’ll be doing much manual labor later on!
Getting ready to buy a pop-up and do a little DYI. Excited! Good tutorial.
I can't wait to see what else you do! I love pop-up camper transformations! And congratulations on the pregnancy!
Paint the outside of the roof with a rubberised coating sold in RV centres
U could dye the curtains a color u would like.

That makes me so happy! Crazy to think back to when we renovated that first camper three years ago!
Bleach is best thing that you can use to Remove Mildew, I -HP Wash Outside Walls of my Home and Shop using 50/50 Bleach Mix, have done it for years...

Would the curtains take yellow dye? The cousion or covers a dark blue or dark purple?
Great job! We are thinking of trying the Zep but scared because it’s an old vintage and it’s beige canvas. 😕
Keep some damp rid in there and replace often
Good idea!
Is there a part 2?
You you try mold armor, any good degreaser with a magic eraser, but have to rinse with water and drry
Good to know! Thank you for watching :)
Where’s part 2?
Protect eyes and lungs!!!!!
There goes the budget !
Did she ever make a part two
If you spray bear spray on the grass around the camper you don’t have to worry about bears in a tent or tent camper
Plus you can buy I bear spray n mace pistol called a Salt pistol and is accurate up to 150 ft so don’t worry about the bears

Put your stabilizers down lol
They’re down! You can see them in the exterior shots :)
I would be scared to camp in something that it takes less than 2 seconds for a bear to break into.

If I had to guess, I'd say the number of people killed by bears in a pop up camper - ever - is zero.
