Such genius. What a legacy and how much missed they both are. The detail, the timing but above all the magic of two incredibly talented and funny friends enjoying being at the top of their game. Priceless comic gold.
One of the great things they did in these live sketches was to try to throw each other. A good example is the Zoo sketch. Such a clever and intelligent pair.
That amazes me too. It's SO accurate... but what's it about? It seems like it might be a Cockney cultural thing as much as some physical impairment. I've encountered _loads_ of working class Londoners with the exact same habit.
I have only just come across this item. Pete was great but Dudley's talent was absolutely immense and never seen since. His comedic ability was only surpassed by his musical abilities. A true loss that will never be made good.
it is sooo strange, me having lived in London in the mid sixties as a very young au-pair and watching these 2. Found them this evening by pure chance. The quality of the video is actually very good. As the conversation went on between these 2 I swear it felt as if I had seen them just a short while ago. What a strange feeling. I have to admit it took me a little while to remember the dialekt 😀 but it was allright and I laughed a lot. What a pair they where.
If you think this is like "fine Swiss craftsmanship" then you must be 'cuckoo'. This is pure British: It doesn't have to be perfect, as long as it get's the job done.
GOD WHO EVER PUT THEM ON STAGE !!!IN 65 Had SOME BALLS !!!😨As just After This that Has a OTT ALBUM DERECK & CLIVE live 😨😨😨😨😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂UNBELIVABLE XXXXXXXX Rated 😴 LOVED THEM !!!✌✌✌✌✌👊👏BRILLIANT DUO g
After Pete and Dud……very little. The same goes for music from that period and much else besides. For the first time ever I hear older people saying they DON’T wish they were younger. Just watch this sketch and you can see why. They would rather have class than crap.
Still watching in 2024.!!

There are not enough superlatives to describe just how good this is.
I really do miss Pete'n'Dud.
There are not enough superlatives to do justice as to how good Pete & Dud were.
R.I.P
You can never tire of watching them! They're brilliant!
So funny! Loved it when Dud began to crack up. Priceless comedy gold.
Still absolutely brilliant after all these years.
Bright, brave genii ... I bow to you both and thank you immensely for this inspiring example of humour.
excellent ! Deeply amusing, quintessential British humour.....Shame we don't have anything like that around today.
Absolute genius, the likes of which we've never seen the likes of which. ;-)
BOTH of u r absolutely Fantastic R I p thanks to both of u tanks 2 ❤❤❤❤❤
One of the great things they did in these live sketches was to try to throw each other. A good example is the Zoo sketch. Such a clever and intelligent pair.
the same kind of sport that Tim Conway tried to do with Harvey Korman
The Art Gallery sketch….they both corpse in that one…..
Fantastic timeless comedy; genius ... both of them.
Clever and humorous. Brilliant for the day. Xx
Wow. I was 13. Very, very old humour and so much fun...
Old humour?
These two had a higher IQ than the full cast
I always enjoyed Dud’s wonderfully observed tick
That amazes me too. It's SO accurate... but what's it about? It seems like it might be a Cockney cultural thing as much as some physical impairment. I've encountered _loads_ of working class Londoners with the exact same habit.
It's a privilege to have seen this. Thank you.
No greater comedy team ever existed in the history of the world.
Excluding Ant & Dec of course !!
To Joshua YES you're right! (Eat your hearts out, Morecombe and Wise! In my opinion)

Genius. Pete n Dud morphed over the years into Derek and Clive and took their comedy to the next (vulgar) level, but the true comedy is here.
Laurel and Hardy were up there...
These 2 WERE The BEST at What They Do .
How did that tea pot stay on the table
Special ATV Teapot Glue. It's sold across the road from the longest lengths of BBC Rope.
How funny@@smadaf
Pure comedic genius...
I have only just come across this item.

His comedic ability was only surpassed by his musical abilities. A true loss that will never be made good.
Such an accomplished musician and so underrated.
if you haven't already, read his biography by Rena Fruchter
Absolutely agree! He was on another level completely. Great actor, great musician, great comedian.
Priceless...
Timeless.

Superb, not like the bullshit that passes for comedy nowadays. wonderful stuff here.
Priceless,
Brilliant!
Nuclear hollyhocks 🤣
So much work in that sketch. It's like fine Swiss craftsmanship, much of it lost on the contemporary audience.
?
If you think this is like "fine Swiss craftsmanship" then you must be 'cuckoo'. This is pure British: It doesn't have to be perfect, as long as it get's the job done.
Peter Cook had the edge on "corpsing" his pal Dudley Moore....more or less, every sketch he did it and almost all was extemporised
Petes evil look .... so loaded !
Mostly improvised too, absolute genius
Masters at work. Was it really that long ago!!!!
Love it
Very sophisticated humour
As smart and funny now as it was when I heard it back then. They were a huge influence on the Monty Python group and most of the best comedians since.
Even better when they were both drunk
I carnt stop laughing . Neither could Dudley.
*can't
Aah, they were brilliant weren't they ?
Another double act 👏👏that made you laugh 🤣 Dudley Moore had Motorneurone disease💞
Yes, his end was a sad one, poor bastard.
Was that Jimmy Tarbuck? So young.
Ah thank god you heard me !
super
Pete for god sake push that teapot onto the table a bit !
*God's
How young was Tarby at the start of this? Twenties?
24 or 25.
At the start of it, lol? How long do you think this sketch was? 😂

It took the 70s for Derek & Clive to be "acceptable". The first Derek & Clive stuff came out a good eleven years after this 1965 performance.
ITS "Old Tatty Head", itself.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Any one remember the sketch about "The Drains" it's brilliant.
Probably an idea taken from Spike Milligans writings for the Goons.
It's good but I don't think it's as brilliant as Pete & Dud. But we all have our favourites.
sad thing is mike & bernie pete & dud have died yet tarbuck,s still kicking
Yawn
I can't believe that's Jimmy Tarbuck
Why not?
Yes and about as funny as Mike and Bernie Winters
After Pete and Dud……very little. The same goes for music from that period and much else besides. For the first time ever I hear older people saying they DON’T wish they were younger. Just watch this sketch and you can see why. They would rather have class than crap.
I think there were other good comedy acts in the following decades. But you're right, Cook and Moore were on a level of their own.
Uh ho… it’s Tarbucks…
9:30 'Funny'
16 sugars...
…but don’t stir it. I don’t like it sweet!
half a spoon, wouldn't want to exagerate hahahha
Peter Cewk 0:25
Tarbuck when he was mid 20s. Amazing.
Crikey. Never seen this. Seems ahead of 1965 and a bit above the audience.
You mean the ones screaming with laughter? Yeah, they were probably watching something else.
Doesn't sound like it! 🤣
If only comedy was still this good, there would be far fewer problems in the world as we know it
23 February 1965 Arsenal 3-1 Spurs
Beautiful.
Woke free comedy at its best!
Oh gawd, another far right snowflake whining because he's not allowed to be racist any more 🥱
Tarbock must be the only so called 'comic' who was worse than Mike and Bernie vinters
Fckn RiGHT ... Tarbie somehow clung on .....
*Tarbuck

Of course Mrs Brown's Boys is far better.
